Enter Samkon Gado
The Rams on Tuesday signed free agent running back Samkon Gado and promoted linebacker David Vobora from the practice squad.
Gado, 5-foot-10 and 226 pounds, appeared in three games with Houston and five with Miami last season.
As a rookie with Green Bay in 2005, the native Nigerian plaayed in eight games and rushed for 582 yards and six touchdowns on 143 carries.
For his NFL career, Gado has 252 carries for 942 yards (3.7 per carry) and 11 TDs.
Vobora was "Mr. Irrelevant in 2008 -- the last player selected in the NFL Draft.
Gado and Vobora take the roster spots that were vacated when wide receivers Dante Hall and Drew Bennett were placed on injured reserve.
The Rams also signed RB Darius Walker and LB Kelly Poppinga to the practice squad, and released FB Russ Weil and S David Roach from that unit.
