The Rays (1 Viewer)

Looks like lefties are giving them fits, they really need Upton to get healthy. Wheeler should turn things around, but Balfour may have been a fluke.

What about the Rays, Cap? You worried at all?
Worried? You don't think the Red Sox will have a stretch of games where they go 5-9 this year? Some of us have been watching the sport longer than two weeks, noob.
:bag: :goodposting: The shine's off this team. The Book is out on the Rays. Usually only takes a few months to get it out on a one dimensional squad.
Yup. And you know who sucks? Longoria. And Upton and Crawford and Pena and Burrell and Garza and Shields and Kazmir and Price.I'm with Fimbi here. I don't see this team cracking 50 wins.

And to think the White Sox lost to this team in the playoffs last year:unsure:
Red Sox too. In retrospect it's about as unlikely as it was a few years back when the Tigers went. I do feel a bit better knowing the division isn't a 3 headed monster.

I know. It looks like the Blue Jays are going to take all the drama out of this thing and run away with it. Imagine when they actually get a few major league pitchers.

Halladay isn't a major league pitcher?

I was referring to the rest of the staff.

Rays have to win at .623 for the rest of the year to match last year. That's tough for a team that looks a little short on talent.
The Rays after 15 games in 2008.......6-9The Rays after 15 games in 2009..............6-9

The bolded part is so stupid I won't address it. Please wear a helmet.

Is this shtick? The Rays were far better than the White Sox last year, both in the regular-season the playoffs. Chicago got beat by a flat-out better team. So did the Red Sox. It happened.

At least you're getting another year of Price before Arb eligibility though, right?

Way to Gunz this one up.

I'm not a fan of the game they're playing with Price (and of course I'm biased because I own him in my league), but they're only 5.5 out to start May. That's nothing. If Garza could get consistent and when they get Price up things will look even better for these guys, as either Price or one of the current starters will end up in the pen which should help it out some. I think they do need to make another move or two there to shore up the pen though. The guys they currently have just aren't good enough. You can't depend on Percival for a whole season and Wheeler pitched over his head last year and some of the other guys who pitched well last year don't have an established track record. Maybe they get help from the minors where they're still long on pitching, maybe they make a deal down the road. But celebrating a rough start in April is stupid.
