The Red Pill - Men's Rights Movement Documentary (1 Viewer)

No idea about this doc but the red pill subreddit is filled with guys that couldn't get laid in a women's prison with a fistfull of pardons.

Yeah those guys tend to be bitter, pathetic losers. Sucks though, some women are just awful mothers and turn their sons into women haters.

Okay, whoever is bored enough to actually watch that dreck do us a favor and post anything worthwhile from it.

Should be a short post.

I'll probably check it out. It's a subject I don't know much about and I'm sure there is some unintentional comedy. These guys are funny to me, similar to the pickup artist dudes.

Pretty sure there are documentaries on this subject.  You might need to Google it.
i've done research on this, and, much to my chagrin, none of the 'real' inmates looked anything like the hot as #### #####es Nina Hartley deflowers in the YouPorn vignettes

:(

Combat deaths 99.9% male

Work deaths 99.9% male

Homicides 76% male

Suicides 76% male

Jail time black males get 10% harsher sentences than white males for the same crime.

Males get 60% harsher sentences than women for same crime.

1 in 3 women will be a victim of domestic violence by an intimate partner

I in 4 males will be a victim of domestic violence by an intimate partner.

We at least you are open minded.  Don't be scared and give it a watch.  I just stumbled on it last night.  I don't know what it is but it makes you think.  Oh, it was made by a feminist woman.

I think one of the most glaring things is how women say men need to listen to them to understand their issues where they are coming from as a group but when men want women to listen to men's issues, they want to shut them down and don't think they have a right to express their issues.  If men can't understand women without listening then how can women understand men without listening?

Still bad but not quite the 99.9% mark.

Homicide offenders are also much more likely to be male.  Females are much more likely to be killed by someone they are in an intimate relationship with than men.

There are more male presidents under criminal investigation in the United States than female presidents.
This is true but irrelevant to the discussion.  Woman can be being oppressed in cretain areas while men are too in other areas.  The documentary addresses much of the ignorance and fear being shown in here.  But we can all judge something with semi witty comments instead of discussion of issues brought up in the film.

Family courts are the biggest example but there are others.
I can see this one.

People definitely need to listen to each other more.

Semi witty?  You wound me, sir.

I've experienced lots of MRA arguments.  This isn't some new topic for me.  I've found the arguments terribly disingenuous.  Men are more likely to be the victims of crime.  They are also much more likely to be offender in violent crimes.  If you want to argue that men are a frequent victim of toxic masculinity, maybe that's an interesting discussion.  But to post the homicide victimization rate and the "domestic violence" victimization rate without posting the homicide offender rate and the stark discrepancy between the likelihood of female victim of domestic violence being killed or maimed versus that of a male victim is completely bogus.

If ever watch it then talk to me.  This is not the bulk of things.  Just too much to explain but you don't seem to have as good as grip on what this doc expresses as you think.

I think it's possible that men get the short end of the stick in certain contexts -- possibly in custody disputes, for example.

But you don't need a generalized "men's rights movement" (which sounds kind of silly) to deal with that; just have an "equality in custody" movement, or whatever movements would address the particular wrongs these people care about. (I know nothing about the MRA and therefore have no idea what issues they emphasize; the custody thing is just the first possibility that came to mind, and I'm having trouble coming up with others off the top of my head.)

I knew nothing too.  I watched, it was thought provoking.  Nothing I say matters.  Happy to discuss it with other who put the time in and watch it or we don't have any common ground for discussion.

Yes, I admit it's kind of lame of me to jump into discussion of a documentary I haven't watched ... but if you can't be lame on the Internet, where can you be?

You are the exact person I want to watch this.  You are smarter than most, you if there are things that are portrayed that are incorrect you would know.
