The Redskins will beat the Eagles (1 Viewer)

The only way this game is close would be injuries and a complete lack of focus.
Seriously, can I get an explanation here? I guess the Eagles completely lacked focus? Didn't I hear something about this being the biggest mismatch in the NFC in a long time?

:goodposting:Unless you watched a different game, the Eagles had exactly that...injuries (top 4 defensive linemen went out, three for the majority of the game) and a COMPLETE lack of focus. Oh, and an absolutely inexcusable play by Pinkston where he had alligator arms.Good teams win games when they're focused, great teams find ways to win games when they're not.

 Yeah its not like the Redskins were missing Lavar Arrington and Shawn Springs on their defense. Face it....you were completely wrong to say that this game wouldn't even be close. And you were very lucky that the refs made at least one(and I think two) huge mistakes that benefitted the Eagles in a huge way.

I think it's obvious the Iggles are a good team. When they play most of the NFC (read: lowsy defenses) they look unstoppable. When they play a defensively stout team (Ravens, Steelers Washington) they struggle mightily. By that I mean, They're decent, but they'ye probably not quite as good as alot of people think. The Iggles are a big fish in a little pond and thats fine. But I firmly believe the SB will be won by an AFC team.

Yeah, they did suffer some injuries on the DL. But, that doesn't explain why the game was close. It may help explain why it was as close as it was, but not why it was close at all. I mean, they had a decent pass rush at times and held Portis to under 4 yards per carry, so the DL wasn't in that bad of shape. In order for it to be close, Philly would have to fail to score at their usual pace. I guess that's were their lack of focus came in, huh? I think their lack of focus was evident by all their penalties. What's that? The Eagles didn't have a lot of penalties? The Redskins had a lot of penalties? Hmm, I guess that means the Redskins lacked some focus. But, how is the game even close if the Redskins have a lack of focus? The Eagles must have really, really, really, really had a complete lack of focus for it to be close when the Redskins showed a lack of focus. Is there some other stat, other than penalties, we can point to for "lack of focus" or was it just obvious from watching? I guess you can say Pinkston showed a lack of focus, but I'd just say he's a pansy. Was it McNabb throwing some balls in the dirt as we used to see him do?"Focus" really seems to be one of those popular things to say when a team doesn't perform as expected. And, the nifty thing about "focus" is it's very difficult to prove someone was focused. See, I could say the Redskins lost because of stupid penalties, an extremely untimely turnover created by poor decision making, failure to even attempt big plays offensively, and the Eagles sticking to a defensive scheme based on the Redskins unwillingness to try for big plays. Or, I guess I could just say they lacked focus. Prove me otherwise.Yeah, that's what I'll go with: they lacked focus. Oh, and injuries. They have some of those.
Good teams win games when they're focused, great teams find ways to win games when they're not.
Great teams don't lack focus. If the coaches couldn't get them to focus on a team with a defense as good as Washington's and a team so desparate for a win, they have some issues.

The Eagles played bad and Washington only scored 14 points. How many yards did Portis have?If the Eagles had played well and the score was this close, id be with you. However, the Eagles played poorly (to the level of their opponent?) and still pulled out a victory with defensive play.\/\/ stands for \/\/1|\|Good luck on the golf course

maybe, just maybe, the Eagles only played poorly because of the opponent. The Eagles played their normal game. They just weren't as good as the Skins. But the refs made up for it.
