The Tea Party is back in business! (1 Viewer)

Why am I not surprised that Carolina Hustler would join the "both sides are to blame" crowd?
How do you get your fingers to even type stuff like this out when you have guys like scoresman posting his crap and Mathias (sp?) posting his "terrorist" nonsense? These are glaring examples of the garbage this country's citizens do to enable these morons in office and exactly what a lot of us are talking about when we talk about both sides being the problem.

"Okay, we'll raise the debt ceiling if you agree to #### up (insert social program here)."

"I'm not negotiating until the shutdown is ended and you pass a CR."

"Ok, we'll pass a CR but also with the conditions that you do a thing we want that you would never otherwise do."

"We'll negotiate after you stop holding the country hostage."

"Alright, we'll stop holding the country hostage if you can make it look like we won this by doing something we want that you would never..."

"You just tried that, #### you."

"HE WON"T NEGOTIATE!!!"

For goodness sake just fund everything else and then put the funding for this thing up to a straight up or down vote.
The repubs already tried this..The dems prefer to hold the rest of the country hostage because they know funding for obamacare alone will not pass a vote..
You mean besides all the votes it already passed?
For God's sake exactly - what kind of law passes one Congress but can't get funded by another?

It's a bad bloomin' law.
It's been upheld every time it's been put to an actual vote, and upheld in the Supreme Court. A minority faction is trying to make an end run around our established political processes and you want to blame everyone but them? :loco:
Which version? How many alterations?
Pick any iteration along the 40 ####### failed votes to overturn it you want.
So you admit the bill was modified a number of times since it originally passed the House, that's the first step.
I don't care if it was modified a zillion times. It's been legally passed and upheld as a law. I don't even particularly like this law, but it's been upheld and it's disgusting that a fringe element in one segment of our government feels entitled to #### with the entire country because they don't agree with something that's been enacted. They can't get their way through the accepted channels of government so they're going to act like children. There shouldn't be a place for that in U.S. Government - period.

Since the first congress, they've decided what laws we spend money on.. And this is far from the first time congress has defunded something..

Simple fact is, republicans, Teapartiers, and some democrats are willing to pass a spending bill that covers everything but obamacare in order to keep things going.. Senate, and white-house refuse, and would rather hold the country hostage..
Holy crap. :lmao:
Glad to see you finally realize how ignorant your posts sound.

"we know that most of America doesn't like or want obamacare, and that it doesn't work properly, and it's a fraud, and it only passed because liberals held the majority in congress at the time, and that as representatives of the American people congress is supposed to do as the people desire, but we need this for our political scorecard, so they will have to deal with it whether it works or not, and if you try to stop us, we'll make a huge fuse and make life hard and blame it all on you"

Here's one report:

Debt Ceiling Debate Cost Taxpayers $18.9 Billion, Study Finds
Thanks, seems right to me. Yet another reason this whole thing is silly.
I guess they left out the sequesters impact on cost savings in the calculation. Oops, they probably forgot that part though.

The last debt ceiling debate resulted in cost cutting. That was the result of the negotiations that allowed the debt ceiling to be raised. Its pretty odd and unfortunate that in a "study" and "article" on the costs of the last Debt Ceiling Debate they would ignore the cost savings that were a direct result of the debate.

The article and its conclusion are laughable.
It also led to lower economic output and revenue. But seeing as Repubs always want to ignore revenue, I find it to be no surprise that you neglected that here.

I assure you, that's not the source of my :lmao:

SaintsinDome, such a proposal would allow the House Majority to become the most powerful branch of government. Rather than simply voting to fund the government, they could simply defund any specific law they disapproved of. It's a terrible idea; it would turn our system of government into chaos.
Art I, Sec. 7:

All bills for raising revenue shall originate in the House of Representatives ...
It already is.

By teh way it was never contemplated that the president would or could refuse to enforce certain laws or certain portions of laws and that's going on with this president, which is a whole lot worse.

You're obviously clueless when it comes knowing what the word fact means. It doesn't mean any notion that comes into your head that you'd like to blurt out without any kind of supporting evidence. HTH.
That is the simple reality of it, of course you liberal shills won't admit it, but it's the truth..
So did you just upgrade your non-fact to the truth. Is that the Platonic ideal of truth? If so, I'd recommend capitalizing it.

Am I correct here that was is actually happening is that the House passed a spending bill but Sen. Harry Reid will not allow the Senate to vote on it either as a whole or in pieces?

You guys have trouble facing reality, and when it's shoved in your face you deflect .. I get it.. Carry on..

I'm continually amazed at the "news" sites you guys are linking. Is there like a reddit thread where you find these things? Is it just word of mouth? Do you actively google "no spin news" or "anti-main stream bias" or some other bull####? Do they all get the same memo from FOX letting them know the talking points?

Another poll that's brutal to the GOP:

http://gqrr.com/articles/2013/10/11...y-damaging-gop/

A just-completed national survey from Greenberg Quinlan Rosner Research confirms that the voting public is fed up with just about everyone in Washington, but Republicans are clearly bearing much more of their anger and it damaging their prospects for 2014.

By a 16-point margin, 43 to 27 percent, voters blame the Republican in Congress, rather than President Obama and the Democrats, for the government shutdown.

The shutdown had left an already damaged GOP brand in tatters and the party’s electoral prospects wounded. The party now has a 2:1 unfavorable to favorable rating, 26 percent favorable vs. 52 percent unfavorable (for a net -26 rating). Among independents their rating is -35. Democrats don’t fare great either, but with a net -5 rating (39 percent favorable vs. 44 percent unfavorable), they do much better. Perhaps most important, on the generic ballot, Democrats now lead by double digits, 46 to 36 percent.
That's the third generic ballot showing the Republicans would lose their majority if the election was today, I think.

Seriously, how do you people find this crap? News magazine network? He's a tip, just because someone bought a domain and posted something doesn't transform the content from drivel to gold.
Hey superlib, sometimes your team is wrong... deal with it..
Wow. Don't think I've ever been called liberal before. And you skipped right by liberal to superlib. That's amazeballs.

I can't believe anybody that is not crazy could even attempt to argue that this isn't the fault of both sides.

These guys are supposed to pass a budget on how to fund things. Just because a bill is passed in previous years doesn't mean it is always supposed to be funded exactly as it was originally written every year. This would be the same as a business coming up with a 10 year budget and then continuing to spend exactly how that budget was laid out after losing 50% of their revenue in year 4. Budgets should change. If the country has a surplus or a defecit, the budget should change.

So this year they cant agree on one. In fact they already couldnt agree for many months which is why we are at where we are at. Seems pretty obvious they are both at fault.

If the republicans were making demands that obamacare has to be 100% abolished and the discussion is over, I could maybe side with the crazies making the claim it is all the fault of the republicans. As far as I know, they aren't doing that. They are asking for a delay(perhaps even to only parts of it). Which, considering things get delayed all the time, seems fairly reasonable for such a controversial piece of legislation that has already been modified anyway. Perhaps a delay could have prevented all of the BS server problems.

Has any of these guys quoted the post count yet in response to an article or discussion on the topic? If not, I'm sure it's coming..

How about that guy who calls everything not-liberal "kook"... He been here yet?

To bad it wasn't published by MSNBC, then you guys would read it as your bible..

I'm laughing at those who care where the article came from. As Hillary would say "what difference does it make!"

Since you're so interested in polls, why don't you post that poll where most of America disagrees with obamacare..

How about you go back and read this thread and see if anything in the op-ed you posted was new or informative? Or maybe just not a line of reasoning that had already been discussed ad-nauseam.

Not the point. It wasn't my assertion in the first place that the caliber of site somehow is important when you're merely reading a syndicated column. I'm not saying I agree with the article's content. I'm simply pointing out that particular article isn't some obscure article written by some nobody as intimated. The article was penned by a noteworthy author and has appeared on numerous reputable sites, not jut News Magazine Network.

How about you don't go on as if none of that was true rather than trying to dismiss these facts, with your only excuse being "because they have already been brought up"..
