The Teams That Look The Best - Right Now (1 Viewer)

So, this would be my choice of 5 teams that look the best right now after three weeks. I'm not looking at schedules, upcoming schedules, any of that jazz. Just the teams that seem to be legit playoff and Super Bowl contenders as of today. Just a gut feeling on looks.

1. Buffalo Bills.
2. Minnesota Vikings.
3. Seattle Seahawks.
4. Kansas City Chiefs.
5. Pittsburgh Steelers.

That's what I've got.

Even with these, I'd add caveats.

Bills and Vikings look like the best teams in the league. Not many flaws if any on both sides of the ball.

Chiefs and Seahawks are winning but not smoothly. Offense and defense sometimes shows flaws.

Steelers are winning by defense. Offense could cost them at some point.

Detroit can be up there too. They beat themselves with turnovers against TB.

All other teams in the next tier have significant issues on one or both sides of the ball.

The Steelers defense is top notch, but I am not ready to put them in the top 5 category. This year there seems to be a lot of parody and I think this list will alter greatly as the season moves along. If we are just listing the undefeated teams then it is hard to argue with the list. I would personally put the Packers & Lions above the Steelers even with the losses they have had.

Top 5

1. Bills and it's not close at the moment
2. Chiefs until they actually start to lose football games, they have one of the best defenses and DC that can go in at halftime and just lock it down 2nd Half

-And then it gets mighty complicated
Vikings and Seahawks are both undefeated and I don't hear anyone say Top 5 although I would slot the Vikings in there
Where do you put the Eagles and Saints plus the Lions?
Steelers are not a Top 5 team despite the defense
Lot of 2-1/1-2 teams that have some mystery right now
Ravens and Niners are 1-2, anyone think they both miss the Playoffs?

We're just starting to come out of "Preseason" most of these starters didn't play a down in August
Good thread, hard to answer or proclaim many of the teams past Buffalo right now. I always respect the Chiefs and this Dynasty we are still in

Right now?

Bills
Chiefs
Steelers
Seahawks
Vikings
Lions

I feel no doubt in my mind:

Texans
Ravens
49ers

Will get going too.

Can Sam Darnold keep this up?

Seahawks for real?

Steelers offense?

I have questions on those three.

This is really the key right here. September is the new preseason. We won't know who is actually good until mid to late October.

i'd put the 1-2 falcons in my top 10, easily. name a team w a worse schedule so far, w a fix that robbed them of 2-1

Good post

Had to highlight those two points you made as being 100% correct.

I would also give the nod to Buffalo as the tops coming out of the gate. This is a proven playoff caliber team so you know there's no chance of a 3-0 start being a fluke or an aberration. From the 5 unbeaten, only Buf and the Chiefs have recent proven track records of being considered among the top 5 teams in the league when all is said and done by season's end.

Vikings vs Bills in the Super Bowl would be epic.

Combined 0-8 in Super Bowls, the story writes itself.

Wont happen. Nfl and chiefs wont allow it
It would be the best for marketing, storyline, rabid fans, non-rabid fans tuning in to see history, etc. It really would be in the best interests of the NFL to have this happen.
The script writers are considering it along with several other story lines.

The only thing better would be if the game mirrored the game from two years ago with the insane JJ catch, the Allen fumble into the endzone on a QB sneak trying to kill the clock for an extraordinary way to lose......regardless of which team lost in that manner. It would be so fitting.

I know you're a Vikings fan so this is in jest but I wouldn't mind at all seeing Minn vs. Buffalo in a SB.

I was actually being serious that it would be in the best interest in the NFL if that was the Super Bowl. Those are two long standing fan bases with a ton of history in being losers in the biggest stage that would be an incredible story line and bring in many non-fans to see the "Greatest Loser" be anointed while another loser getting off the schneid.

Any thread discussing best teams in the league w/out including the Green Bay Packers is dead on arrival. They look great on both sides even w/out Love.

Your list has been found lacking and incomplete. 😉

Good day, sir!

You know what makes it even worse? @ChiefD just moved to Wisconsin, and to think we actually welcomed him to this beautiful state...

What are the Packers' "significant issues?"
I would say until Love proves to be healthy and able to move around as his usual self that QB is a major issue. Sure Willis has done what's asked of him against the Colts and Titans but that doesn't mean there isn't an issue at QB against better teams.

You guys are hilarious.

You can't kick a guy out of Wisconsin who, when he moved here, became the best in the state at making BBQ.

Really have to question @ChiefD football acumen now. I feel like he got paid to make that post. No doubt by the Kansas City Chiefs propaganda machine.

Huh? I've always lived here.

I really miss the laughing emoji

1. Bills
gap
2. Taylor Swifts friends
3. Winner of GB / MN
4. Balt
5. Loser of GB / MN
6-10. Some more teams
11-31 some mediocrity
32. Wil Levis

I don't care about the eye test. I'll keep KC above Buffalo until that Bills defense can prove they won't choke against Pat in the playoffs.

I expect Bills to lose to Henry, err I mean Ravens, this week. However, this comment is spot on in assessment.

Fun to debate right now but remember that the Eagles went 10-1 to start the season last year. And everyone was talking about KC's reign being done because they had no WR's that could catch the ball anymore.

Bills
Chiefs
Eagles
Vikings
Packers

I'm surprised to see the Seahawks in a few of these lists. Sure there's something to be said for beating the teams put in front of you, but their schedule so far could not have been any easier and they barely escaped a couple of those games against bad teams.

Eagles are a flukey Saquon drop away from being 3-0 despite having one of the tougher schedules of any of the teams mentioned.

Gimme the Bills- Josh Allen EPA is off the charts and the other contenders don’t have a qb right now like him. Bills will only lose to a Vikings or very physical defense in the NFC. They’ve had numerous reasons to just have let downs and feel bad after being close to the dance but this team keeps fighting and clawing.

Can’t count the chiefs out ever due to the pedigree and consistency but there are more questions with Mahomes game right now than Allen

Can see the Vikings winning it all too if Darnold plays well.

Eagles and Packers are wild cards high variance so let’s see if they get hot!

What about Detroit? They have all of the pieces too but Goff and the wild card HC

The NFC North has three really good teams that will all beat up on each other so none of them will end up with a great record but they will all be there in the end.

Sorry if I'm the idiot but what do these numbers mean?

Based on the play on the field, these are the expected win totals for each team through 3 games. The Vikings would be projected to have the best record with 2.8 wins and 0.2 losses. And so on, and so on for each team.
