The Top 300 Greatest TV Shows of All Time: FBG Consensus: 50 Lists received. 2: Seinfeld 1: Breaking Bad (28 Viewers)

Also the outro to Red Dwarf was pretty elite. I thought that'd have got enough love from across the pond to at least hit the 300 but I guess not

Neither M*A*S*H nor All in the Family in the Top 10.

Too many damn youngsters on this board.

I really do think TV made a huge leap in the late nineties/early 2000s that justify these rankings. There is just no room any higher for these older shows that no matter how great they were at the time, cant avoid feeling a tad dated.

There is no such thing as a ‘perfect’ television show, but M*A*S*H comes awfully close. With over a decade of cast changes, it didn’t waver in its mission: Find humor in tragedy.

To this day, Alan Alda is the only person to win Emmy’s for acting, directing, and writing for the same series.

So many people were watching the series finale, it broke the New York Sewer system during the first commercial break due to overuse. Of the most watched television broadcasts of all time, the M*A*S*H finale is the only show in the top 20 that is not a Super Bowl.

Blake or Potter? Burns or Winchester? Who played the best drunk? All life altering questions reserved for the greatest of philosophers. OK, maybe I went a bit far…

I love this show so much, about 3 years ago I drove 3 hours to Knoxville, TN to attend one of those ‘Con’ shows just to do a meet and greet with Jamie Farr and got a signed photo of him in the Scarlett O’Hara dress(IYKYK). Long day, but worth it.

Doesn't the MASH finale still have the highest viewership of any show not sports related of all time? This show had so many great characters and was hysterical at times and very heart touching at others.

Another one that's old but doesn't seem as dated. My little brother loves MASH. And Alda.

I watched the finale with the family, said goodnight, and then quickly went to my room where my 12 year old self legitimately cried myself to sleep.

I think it's great Curb made it this high.

While nostalgic shows like MASH and All in the Family were legendary in their day and still are to some extent, something like Curb just makes me laugh so much more.

They literally call it "The Golden Age of Television" and "Peak TV"

When I was a kid my parents had a cd that was the greatest tv theme songs of the 70's and 80's. This was my brother and I's favorite.

lol - the theme song reminded me of another one of my favorite shows that I cannot believe I left off my list ...I even bought the dvds as soon as they were available.

Greg the Bunny - NOT the sitcom ...the series where they "remake" famous movies - really another top 20 show for me ...dammit.

Pulp Fiction take

Gotta admit I've never heard of this show. I could get into this!

He was great.

I didn't even consider M*A*S*H top 20 as it only had a few good seasons. The fun stopped when BJ replaced Trapper John.

After a number of shows I didn't vote for, I'll gladly take top pickle status for Curb. Very much like its predecessor in tone and comedy but very fresh due to 1) it now being from the perspective of rich, older, married Larry David living in L.A. and 2) airing on HBO without any of the constraints of network TV. The amount and variety of things Larry could come up with to get people to laugh at was unreal, from the mundane to the ridiculous. While there were season-long arcs, one could just watch a random episode and be thoroughly entertained.
