The Unsexy Selection Show (1 Viewer)

I dont know if you've been paying attention to football for the last 4 years, but joe flacco has played one good game ever.

In your defense it was in the post season last year, but who knows, maybe its the beginning of something bigger.

Second the Nate Washington and Santana Moss picks. FF Ninja mentioned Greg Olsen in passing, IMHO he has a great chance of ending up being a top 8 TE.

Flacco has been far from great in his career thus far, but to say he has played "one good game ever" is hyperbole. That said, I think his upside is probably a good #2, or at absolute best a low end #1.

I like the addition of the Nate Washington pick. I'll add Malcom Floyd as another unsexy WR who should produce IF healthy. Now that Vincent Brown is out for a while, they have to throw to someone other than Gates in SD.

I've been carrying the rally flag for Wayne and Washington for a while now and I think other have covered them. Agree there.

How about Jeremy maclin people? I haven't heard anyone talk about this guy ALL offseason and I think he is easily a guy that could slip and slip and slip and be a top WR.

Here are some guys I have been targeting late that are unsexy and have a high upside:

Michael Crabtree

Danny Amendola

Cedric Benson

:goodposting: Maclin, before he had his freak illness last year. Was poised to break out. He's going to produce big in PPR.

Seems the D Jax and Maclin combo for the Eagles are both going later than they should.

Both could give you headaches with games where they disappear but have been going at WR 2 value and could have huge games .

Assuming a 12 team league for round...

Eli in the 5th

Romo in the 6th

Roethlisberger after everyone else has their starter

Lynch in the early-mid 2nd

Steven Jackson in the mid-late 2nd

Gore in the 4th

BJGE in the 4th

Ingram in the 6th

Benson in the 7th

Roddy in the late 3rd

Steve Smith in the 4th

Miles Austin in the late 5th/early 6th

Bowe in the 6th

Reggie Wayne in the late 6th/7th

Garcon in the late 6th/7th

Tony G after 7-8 TEs are off the board

Greg Olsen after everyone has a starter

Tamme after everyone has a starter

QB: Joe Flacco-I don't know if you all have been paying attention this preseason but Flacco looks different. Maybe Baltimore is serious about actually going all the way to the SB. I was down on them but at least they are trying. Flacco is sitting around in the 8th-10th rounds, makes a perfect QB2 with a little upside. We have not seen his best yet.
we heard the EXACT same thing last year. adding boldin created a similar buzz that torrey is this year
they added boldin 2 years ago, and I haven't heard this exact same thing.
These picks should be called Kennison picks. Eddie always seemed to produce quietly
:goodposting: I always had that guy on my teams.

I think Keller fits this unsexy mold. People are avoiding this guy like the plague from what I have seen.Assuming his hammy truly is going to be ok, I think he has the potential to post very nice numbers. The rest of the Jet offense looks anemic and even if Sanchez struggles, he is going to look to check down a lot. A real lot. Plus, he's kind of a beast at 6'2" and 250 lbs and is a great athlete. He'll get the checkdowns, plus is the clear number 2 option.I see real value here, again, assuming the hammy is ok. The potential injury makes him even more unsexy
Hammy aside the real problem with Keller is the situation with the Jets QBs - If Sanchez is pulled for whatever reason you don't really want a TE that Tebow has to try and find ... or get the ball to.

The fact that he is going undrafted in some leagues and with suspension on the horizon and injury concerns. I say Kenny Britt. People are avoiding him, I could be wrong but I think he has a chance to put up WR1 numbers later on in the season and for a waiver wire pick-up or a late round flier, you can't beat that.

I've been a big fan of McCluster for a few years and he's yet to really become fantasy relevant and/or a consistent fantasy performer. He's going undrafted in many leagues except for some deep PPR leagues and I think the Chiefs may now be starting to utilize him to the best of his abilities as I'm hearing he's been moved to slot receiver.

I think if all goes well he can go 60-70 recs / 550yds / 5-7 td's with another 150-200yds on the ground and I just may be a bit too conservative as I think he can go from WW to WR3/4 by the end of the year.

Reggie Wayne
7th round in many drafts. Collie is one more hit from early retirement, not much else there. Luck will hit him enough to make him very valuable.
I like Reggie's chances too. Had 75/960/4 with absolute garbage tossing to him last year. Plus had Garcon eating in this stats. Gotta believe he gets a bump in rec, yards and TDs this year with Luck. Steal.
I agree, but he has gone pretty far about ADP in both leagues I've drafted in.

how is he going to that from prison? guy is a nutjob.

I was going to just start a thread, but: Darrius Heyward-Bey.

He's still a young player at 25. Mini breakout last season with 64/975/4, and he took doughnuts in 3 games. Game 15 was 8/155/1. Game 17 was 9/130/1. He's shown in preseason he can make plays on the football. Moore and Ford are nursing injuries.

ADP in the 8th round as WR37.

Don't disagree with the bolded at all. But at this point none of us have any concrete info on what he is facing this year. I don't doubt he will see a suspension from King Goodell, but at the price you can get him at, it is worth the flyer.

Ugh... he had like one good year with KC. I do not remember him fondly.

Louis Murphy is going to push Lafell back to WR #3. Murphy is a superior talent and Cam has a bit of a homeboy connection with him. Smith is not getting any younger either.

I've never agreed with lhucks on anything, but bess is garbage. Pan ash, indeed. :lmao:
So who is going to catch the ball up there on a lousy team that is going to be playing from behind all year? marshall isnt walking through that door. Bush can only catch so many passes. My money is on bess. Is he a mediocre wr? sure. maybe less than mediocre. But especially in PPR leagues he is the definition of unsexy yet productive this year. Fine wr3 with low wr2 upside till unless someone else on that team and easily drafted very very late.

Couldn't agree more

I would add Santonio Holmes to the mix. He is STILL the wr1 on the jets and is getting no hype watsoever. Somebody has to catch the ball there as well and he will get his.

Possibly also because he had so many good years in DEN (just saying...)
