Devil's Advocate
I remember about six or seven years ago, guys in my local league kept talking about it being "The year of the pass," then the next year they'd claim it was "The year of the run." It seemed like it kept going back and forth from year to year. I'm sure I'm not the only one who heard this discussed.
One season, defenses were getting trampled by running backs, and they were trumping QBs and WRs. The next year, teams were passing all over defenses who had adjusted to defend the run, and the QBs/WRs were putting up more consistent points than RBs.
That is the way I remember it. Is there anything statistically to that, or is it all BS? If it is legit, what trends are we expecting for the upcoming season? Thanks.
