Apparently (I didn't live here) my neighborhood went insane for Y2K. Ordered huge bags of beans and rice and other foods that will stay good for a long time, gassed up the generators, etc. One guy offered to go get it all and distribute it for everyone.
So he dropped off, like, 100-200 lbs or more each of beans and rice to everyone in our neighborhood on a flat bed truck, collected payment, etc. He was dropping some off at a house down the block and the guy asked "So how many did you get?"
Delivering neighbor:"How many what?"
Receiver neighbor:"How many pounds of beans and rice?"
DN:"None."
RN:"None?"
DN:"No, I don't need any. I have guns and a list of who has beans and rice."
He had a good laugh. Rest of the neighborhood is still mad.
