But why?other forums are talking redraft now... there's plenty to talk about that doesn't have to do with dynasty
Check out the 2014 team spotlight threads. Lots of good info in those, albeit not as much discussionI mean seriously... what's up with this forum? everything on here pertains to dynasty. is there anything for us redraft players? this is why i don't come here much anymore.
Then why not go to those forums?other forums are talking redraft now... there's plenty to talk about that doesn't have to do with dynasty

What's the difference...it's all football. If you're serious about redraft then dynasty information should be of interest to you as well. Dynasty sleeper today, redraft breakout tomorrow.I mean seriously... what's up with this forum? everything on here pertains to dynasty. is there anything for us redraft players? this is why i don't come here much anymore.
Exactly. There's really not a lot going on for redraft players until training camp starts.Get a grip. It is July. Redraft doesn't pick up until training camp and preseason.
Bad idea to do team rather than player spotlights IMO.Check out the 2014 team spotlight threads. I suggested this to save space and consolidate the information into one thread instead of people having to chase down 300 different threads for all of the relevant players.
The Player/Team spotlight thread could be a space used to talk about just one player from the offense. The discussion does not have to be limited to only holistic view points of the team. I think a couple of people have done that. For the most part the players already have threads dedicated to them with discussions already ongoing.
It would like to hear why this was a bad idea for the purpose of improving the process and perhaps increasing participation through those improvements.

I always enjoyed the average message board prediction alongside the experts and the ability to quickly click through to the spotlight threads from the player pages. It was pretty useful in quick evaluation in the middle of a redraft/shallow keeper draft.I agree the posts are of pretty high quality, but there is also a value in getting a wide range of opinions.Participation down, quality up.I do appreciate reading your contributions to those thread, but it seems clear the participation is way way down. Why?Bad idea to do team rather than player spotlights IMO.Check out the 2014 team spotlight threads. No longer will we have the Jermichael Finley type spotlights where people predict obscene numbers for a TE.
Yeah, I offered spotlight thread input on the Jags and the amount of effort to go thru an entire team's projections is considerable. But it does make you ask yourself questions that you might not ordinarily. How could the spotlight threads be structured so as to encourage more participation?
I am in complete agreement that I would like to read a variety of view points from as many people as possible, especially things from fans of each team who follow their team more closely than I can do. I think I know the ins and outs of the Vikings better than I do other teams for sure. On the flip side of that I may have a purple hue on some of those perspectives so it is valuable to me to see how people who are not fans of a team view that team, their situation and their players.
I think the main difference between a spotlight thread and a regular thread talking about a player, is that the spotlight is more of a official or final projection. So that perspective may lead to less debate/discussion?
It takes quite a bit of time for me to go over everything before presenting a final projection. It may be better to try to start this process earlier on in the season? So there will be more time for debate/discussion within the threads? I think that discussion has been happening. Just not in a spotlight thread. The problem of course of starting that process earlier is we would not know all the changes from free agency and the draft yet, if the spotlight threads were begun in Feb for example? But perhaps that would lead to better quality threads?
For me I do not really track college football. So the winter/spring is when I am spending most of my time researching rookie prospects. Now with the draft delayed 2 weeks, that has left less time post draft for projections. I feel behind in that regard right now and wishing I had done more preparation or better organization to make that process quicker.
I welcome any other suggestions to make the spotlight projections better through more participation. The main idea I have so far is to try to start those threads earlier. At the same time people seem reluctant to start projections (including myself) until they have seen the major personnel changes from free agency and the draft.
The St. Paul n00b contingent agree.Cjw_55106 said:To be honest, a guy who has roughly 100 posts saying this is why he doesn't come around very much anymore, doesn't hold much weight with me...and I'm relatively new here myself. Seems like you never came around much to start with.
This.well dude, at this time of year this is what you should expect. Most redraft leagues dont draft until Mid to Late August or early September. The only leagues that will have any activity at this time of year will be dynasty/keeper leagues where people need to decide who to keep and who to drop.
That's just the nature of the beast man.
as the year progresses, you will see more redraft league info come up.
And then?I mean seriously... what's up with this forum? everything on here pertains to dynasty. is there anything for us redraft players? this is why i don't come here much anymore.
Goto other forums then. Plenty of redraft info here. We aint here to dumb down the sport for you.other forums are talking redraft now... there's plenty to talk about that doesn't have to do with dynasty
