THIS IS THEIR BEST SONG! - Music Draft - Saturday Night's Alright for iFighting (4 Viewers)

21.b

A perfect theme song for the unrepentant

Touché Amoré - ~

I'm parting the sea between brightness and me
Before I drown myself, and everyone and everything
I've got my hands behind my back
With the fingers overlapped
Cause I can never keep my word
And I share with the undeserved
For some cheap acceptance in return...

I don't wanna be startin'd somethin' here, but for fish tacos, I like plain deep fried crispy cod and standard slaw in a charred soft tortilla. The only thing Mexican being the tort.

But for shrimp tacos, it's best to be all about the shrimp and the sauce. No slaw needed. And adobo or tequila lime works great. No cheese on seafood, c'mon now.

Bull####. You know better than this. You just wanted a fight and for everybody to be miserable. You got one. You got everybody good and miserable. Congratulations, man. You did it. You ####ed with people. Good show.

No, I didn't want anything more than the draft to end when it was supposed to, which was the point of my first rather innocuous (or so I thought) comment to Steve Tasker who had asked, "Are we still draftin'?" and I said in response:

We shouldn't be, the draft officially ended with Round 20.

I don't see how that indicates me wanting to start a fight and for everybody to be miserable, but believe what you want to believe.

This one's more uplifting. Maybe we can hope. Now I'm breaking every rule. I took the same artist in the same round.

Round 21.c.

Touché Amoré - Come Heroine

From peaks of blue
Come heroine
With several suns you light the way
When each day begins
And I'm just a risk
Atop of the moon
When I swore I'd seen everything
I saw you

You brought me in
You took to me
And reversed the atrophy
Did so unknowingly
Now I'm undone

I took my place
You showed me how
I'm softer now
Not hollowed out
Now I'm undone

From peaks of blue
Come heroine
With open arms you brought down the walls I defend
And I'm just a risk
And I'm just a risk
And I'm just a risk
A colossal near miss
Prone to resist what is best for me

Now I'm undone
Now I'm undone

From peaks of blue
Come heroine

Now I'm undone
Now I'm undone

When I swore I'd seen everything
I saw you

Exactly. You knew exactly what was going on. He wanted to join the fun and you had to give your opinion about what people should do. You know this; you can't be this obtuse. You're just trying to start ####. Tasker's intelligence and wherewithal is outstanding. He knows what to do. Nobody gave you the authority to run #### anyway.

You can take that attitude and put it somewhere else.

I'm also not speaking for anybody else but me when I write this. Just so nobody gets confused. I know your modus operandi. Those that it is lost on just aren't as attuned to what you do on the boards.

Horrors!

I gave my opinion of what people should do!!! What outrageous behavior and completely beyond the pale on my part. How presumptuous of me to think that was allowed in this thread (must have thought I was in the Politics Sub Forum).

Cabbage is one of the cruciferous vegetables, and so it is a good way to get cabbage into the diet, plus it taste good in it. Your taste buds might like a little bit of cotija cheese now and then on a shrimp taco.

Why are fish tacos fried, anyway? And why fish tacos? Did we need fish on a taco? That confuses everything with taste buds, as far as I'm concerned. Yes, people swear by them, but I've recently become confused as a fish taco ingenue. I never got anything but carne asada or ground beef. There's just no need for fish on things that require fish or areas that don't have meat or beef or goat or anything else.

Now that's starting something here. Questioning the existence of the fish taco rather than its ingredients.

I sent some fish back once cause it tasted fishy.

Simply an opinion you repeated during the draft, throughout the draft, and at the end of the draft, when nobody cared or was listening. That's very astute of you to do that. Not domineering or off-putting at all.

But never mind me. You just keep being you. It's obviously worked well, and will continue to do so.

I can only eat mild tasting fish. The fish I ate tasted like a swamp. I couldn't do it. I rarely order fish in a restaurant.

I would like to (trust me) but you can't seem to resist responding to my posts and then always getting in the last word (which you can have here as I am finished discussing this with you for evening, although I may comment on the merits of fish tacos ingredients with others).

Swamphouse fish is terrible. I would have sent it back, too. And I never order fish in a restuarant. I'm out, why eat something I just tolerate. Perhaps my palette isn't as developed as others, though, so I'll allow for that.

I would try both Chaos Commish and Mister CIA's tacos.  🌮
me too, but i will try anyone's tacos. tacos are the perfect platform for experimenting. i ate at El Torito yesterday coming home from the hospital with my paraplegic bil. It's an ubiquitas LA area franchise with a few other units scattered around the state. I had shrimp echiladas with a shrimp taco ala cart. that taco was so great i am going back next friday and asking how they make the sauce. what they served me isn't on the menu. when i asked the waiter if they served tacos ala cart he hesitated but said sure. i think it was the best shrimp taco i ever had. and yup, there was a miniscule dose of onion, cotija, avo, tomato and cilantro in the tort, but it was stuffed with shrimp in a sauce i have to have again.

22.xx - DJ Okawari & Celeina Ann - "Fragile"

Cross Japan off the list.  This is the "chill" of my Spotify aura of "spooky and chill".  Okawari has a good thing going, he drops an album once a year or so, each a collaboration with a different "diva for hire" vocalist.

I really like Celeina Ann's vocals on this one.  Ethereal, just barely enough power, really unique, delicate sound that you don't often hear over jazz hip-hop beat.  This entire album is fantastic.

23.xx - amiina - "Seoul"

I am doubling-up on Iceland, because who cares.

I passed on drafting this in the earlier rounds, because there are no vocals.

This is an all-instrumental Icelandic quartet that has made some of the most amazing music I have ever heard.  This my not be my "favorite" song of all-time, but I think it might be the single most "beautiful" song I have ever heard.  There are few songs that make me tear up and give me goosebumps.  This is one of them.

There's a zither.  There'a a musical saw.  There are a lot of bells.  And it's just so, #######, beautiful.  I might cry listening to this.

There is some beautiful and precious (in the good way) percussion going on there, from the xylophone/glockenspiel looking-instrument to the bells.

Honestly, it sounds like something Explosions In The Sky would have done with their later albums.

Can’t believe these guys weren’t drafted. I’m dominating you fools.

21.YM - Fleetwood Mac - Landslide

A totally under appreciated song by a group that never got the recognition they deserved.

I was just pointing out us commoners generally see them the way you highbrows do not. ;)

also, i'd rather try the fishmonger's tacos than any one else's round here.

I just asked him, and he said, "I like 'em fried, so you get an extra layer of crisp in your taco.  Then the rest is about whatever slaw or condiment you put in there.  I like a spicy mango slaw.  Finely diced mango, fresh peppers, salt, pepper, cilantro, onion, lime and maybe a little bit of vinegar, maybe some avocado...  If you let that slaw sit there a while to let the flavors marry, then put it really cold on a warm fish and tortilla, the contrast is pleasant."

:bag:

I thought they were drafted. I seem to recall an argument for the very early lineup sans stevie. Rhiannon would be my pick.

jeebus, I'm starving now. that sounds really good. like i said, perfect platform for experimenting.

Might be a bit of a controversial pick, but it’s bonus rounds where I run up the score on y’all.

23.YM - The Smiths - There is a Light that Never Goes Out

True story, that ##### Morrissey has flaked out on three different concerts I went to / was supposed to go to.

Another deep sleeper pick:

22.YM - Pet Shop Boys - West End Girls

I’ll never get tired of this song.
I've always been and It's a Sin guy, but a commercial featuring a remix of Opportunities with a big bass drop moved it up my list, with Heart and Always. Luv PSBs.

25.xx - fka Twigs - "Two Weeks"

Last pick for the night, because I refuse to let her go undrafted.

@Northern Voice if he ever comes back, can confirm my love for her, as I camped solo for a front-row rail spot at Wayhome a number of years ago for like a 1 AM show.  My buddy Alex was there, she got like 2 songs into the choreography and he left.  Live footage of our discussion after those two songs.  She was amazing.  No regrets.

I can count on one hand the number of rail shows I've seen over the years - Blood Orange, Arkells, PUP, Polica, and fka Twigs.

No argument here. Well, I might pit it against Girlfriend in a Coma before being certain. Panic is the best singalong/karaoke for sure tho.

fka twigs is on my long list twice. once solo and once featured. blood orange was on the very long list until a culling

Hmmm. Seems 25 rounds is a thing. As the once and future unstrustworthy interim commish of the mess, I'm changing the rules.

25 rounds everybody. Shuke jumpstarted this one hit wondering us. No clock, no order, no pickaday. All picks due asap or not.

I'm kinda just ####### around here but 5 rounds seems like a good number for bonus rounds.
