Anyone else see this the other night? Wife wanted to watch it, so I sat down with her, looking at clash of clans on the ipad, not really paying attention. After about 10 minutes I'm all in.

Heck of a twist at the end. Can't wait to see how they play this out.

didn't like any of the characters, really. pretty cliched scenarios across the board and heavy handed delivery.

i get that it's the pilot but ... we'll see.  going to give it a shot and see what happens.

so far feels like a far lesser version of Parenthood

They promo'd the hell out of it, which usually isnt a good sign. That being said, the FFA is at a current 80% approval rating right now.

Had a similar experience.  I hadn't heard anything about it, but watched it because my wife wanted to.  I was pleasantly surprised, and it seems like the kind of show we'll watch together and actually both watch instead of doing other things.

But I thought it was really good as a stand-alone episode and I'm actually a little worried about where they'll go with it.  Hopefully, I'll continue to be pleasantly surprised

one of the 5 best pilot episodes i've ever seen.

btw, if you missed the pilot, DO NOT watch episode 2 first. Start with the pilot.

I found it pretty meh.  I thought the story lines were either cliche or completely unbelievable.  However, I thought the acting and dialogue was pretty good.  My wife was hooked on the promo's alone, so I'll be along for the ride until I find it unbearable (which I find other dramas in this vein usually get for me eventually).

Got good reviews,  pilot was pretty good but not sure how sustainable this show will be.  Looks like it will just degenerate into every other hokey network drama

Thought it was solid, definitely a twist at the end that was pretty captivating.

My sense is that it will have peaked with that twist to draw people in and become a poor man's Parenthood (as someone said earlier). But I'll keep an open mind and give it a shot until they give me reason otherwise.

Another little twist at the end of episode 2 tonight.  Liking this show so far.  Pretty decent acting.

Finally got around to watching episode 1 tonight.  One of the best pilots I've seen in a while.  Twist was pretty incredible.  I'm in.

Based simply on the commercials, I was ready to come in here and make fun of you guys for watching this sappy, chick show.

However, I caught a little bit past night and it's pretty decent.

And the older, black father is totally lying. He's doing drugs.

I thought it was pretty funny/clever how right at the start of this episode they crammed in all those products and other references to the earlier time period after being careful not to give it away in the first episode.

They are setting up the audience (or at least me) to expect some kind of reveal at the end of each episode now.  I wonder if that's going to continue.

Damnit.  Just caught the latest episode. I hate this show. Makes me blubber like an idiot.

Randal and his two dads are the best characters by far, though. I care a lot less for the other two siblings and their stories. But it's still such a good show IMO.

Agreed.  I cannot stand Kevin and I am not that fond of Toby or Kate, but I still love the show, largely because of Jack, Randall and William.  I always love it any time we see Dr. K.

Agree. I don't watch much tv. This is the only show I never miss. Like how it goes to the past and then back to the present. Last epi had me in tears. So beautifully done and despite the tears, it was my fav epi. Happened way too soon though. Sterling Brown is an excellent actor. So is Ron Cephas Jones.

That AT&T chick somehow managed to be even hotter in this show. She's the hottest chick in any medium at this point.

Enjoying this show. As a new parent, finding it particularly emotional.

My first cousin was the runner up to play Kate. Crazy to watch Chrissy Metz do all the talk shows and thinking that could be her. She's actually lost a ton of weight since missing out on the role which probably wouldn't have been possible if she got it, so there's kind of a bright side. Although I think she would have taken the financial security over waiting to drop the pounds.

Is this a good show or just a chick show?

After every episode all the chick's on my Facebook feed are bawling. I haven't seen 1 dude on fb say anything about this show. I'm conflicted

It’s a strong show, but really really over the top sappy. Yeah no doubt in the chick show wheelhouse.

This is the show you watch to pay back your wife for 6 months of watching football.

It's a great show. Not all lovey-dovey chick stuff. Topics such as weight struggles, work pressure, parents aging and getting sick, etc. Very well written and acted. You will enjoy it

In other words, it made you cry so you didn't feel manly watching it. ;)
We (my wife and I) cry every episode......it’s ridiculous.

Then again I cry during Publix (if you shop at Public supermarkets in the south east you know exactly what I am talking about)  holiday commercials (ever since I had my son I cry like a baby at anything remotely sentimental).

I disagree about Kevin. But, I see your point about Toby and Kate. They are my least favorite characters.

I'm a chick and I hate chick shows. I agree. This is the only tv series I watch regularly as it address so many issues and the acting is very well done.

I think you have to watch from the beginning as the story is told retroactively as well. Not sure you can just jump in on this one.

Love this show.  My friend Will is the Art Director.  They do a great job going back and forth in time and I really enjoy the story lines.  Not sure I understand the disdain for Toby; I think he's awesome.  He's wearing a fat suit.  Other than the Bachelor this is the only network show I watch.  A million times better than Parenthood.

I still love this show.  I do not watch a whole lot of TV but I make sure to watch this every week.  The acting is top notch and the story lines are interesting.  If you are not a fan of emotion, this is not the show for you.
