I know the way the Pat's handle things and I certainly don't expect them to come out and say Dillon is doubtful, but is there anyone out there who might have any inside info??

Yes, please. I have Dillon in 2 of 3 leagues and Maroney in only 1 of them. Some info would be GREATLY appreciated.

He was healthy for the game. Got a stinger during the game. Came out of the game. Is now healthy for the next game.

He's not on the injury report, and despite peoples' view on the Patriot manipulation of the injury report, while they do perhaps screw around with Questionable/Probable a little, I don't think anyone can show me an example of the Patriots completely leaving OFF a player from the report who was 50/50 to play or anything. From what I've heard locally, he's okay.

That doesn't make him a good start though - two games now he's been limited because of injuries he's sustained in the middle of the games. With his age, that's not good.

Also, his game, as you know, is pounding the ball, and if the Patriots fall behind to Cincy quickly on Sunday, Dillon will be utilized less than Maroney will be in the later half of the game.

True, but Cincy's run defense is not that good and Dillon will be motivated against his old team. The Bengals offense wasn't firing on all cylinders for most of last week's game either so I don't think it is a sure thing NE will be playing catch up.

I was referring less to Dillon Vs. Cincy's run defense than to Cincy's offense Vs. New England's defense...particularly the banged up (again) secondary.

Seems to me that NE publishes the injury report based on their players' practice time.

If Dillon is at practice, he doesn't get put on the injury report (even if his shoulder is hanging off his arm).

Dillon's shoulder injury goes back to the pre season (vs. ATL?). There's no reason to believe that this injury hasn't been nagging him since then. Listed or not on the injury report, Dillon isn't likely 100% healthy.

And for Belichick, this is how he plays the "game" with the injury report. Dillon's at practice, participating, so NE isn't required to list him on the report.

From a strategy standpoint, it forces CIN to prepare for both runners... Dillon's pounding style, Maroney's slashing style. So, if Belichick can get away without putting Dillon on the report, he will.

 yup.no need for "clock killin Corey Dillon" when you're down by 21 at the half.As a Pats fan, I just don't see how their secondary can keep pace with CIN's air attack.Sure, in the past they've overcome superior air attack talent but they did it with agression and violence. They just don't have that mean streak in them as of yet; they just aren't all that nasty and physical so far this year.

Just on ESPN: Dillon has a bruised forearm. They say this kind of injury varies in severity and did not elaborate on what his chances of playing on Sunday were.

The Patriots are going to run to keep the ball away from Cincinnati's offense. The Bengals run defense is not that great so NE has a good chance to be successful. If they can do that, and put pressure on Palmer, they have a shot. If they get in to a shooting match, they're toast.
