What is lame beyond belief is someone trying to give disinformation and lying about how they feel about a player.

I know you wouldn't do that. Anyone that would needs to find a new board.

Joe,In the past, FBG has produced fake cheatsheet rankings (not sure if you are doing it this year), I am curious to know how you feel that is justifiably different?
Hmm, very interesting...
No reply yet.....which is actually good because I have a second question:Why does the web address for "blackeyedjoe.com" print out on the bottom of a cheatsheet created from the Draft Dominator? I went to the website and here was the message I received:

You just got Punk'd by the SHARK in your league.

Again.

Did you really think he'd share his secret weapon with you?

Better luck next year, Rookie.

Your friends at www.blackeyedjoe.com

This action seems like it falls under the "giving disinformation" area of your post I quoted. Why would footballguys go to all the trouble of creating a fake website and providing the link to it on a cheatsheet?

Joe - I am honestly not trying to bust your balls here, but I would like to hear the justification for why some content provided by FBG assists its members with intentional deception.

The actions of FBG seem to both recognize and encourage this behavior .
Still no reply..... :hifive:
:porked:
Maybe Joe went to find a new board.

er Joe don't take this wrong, but you realize that if you clamped down on disinformation and aliases in general, this forum would be a whisper of what it is now, right? Whether that's good or bad is debatable depending on your point of view (basically quality vs quantity I think), just FYI. It's an inherent part of the anonymity of the 'net/msg boards, unfortunately. PS (and FYI not ripping on anyone), but I have had at least 2 mods actually suggest that to "combat" aliases, I create an alias or 2 as well. :goodposting:
Need for an alias = ridiculous.
I was thinking childish and gay, but OK. I think we're both basically saying the same thing anyway.
I got to get into this dude's pelt and crawl around for a few days. Who's the gopher's ally. His friends. The harmless squirrel and the friendly rabbit.

I am only in one major league, and I keep FBG under wraps. I share it with my friends that play but not my leaguemates. So no alias needed for me.

He's still here, but hiding under an alias.

The Shark Pool is a place to share facts and opinions about the hobby. There's no reason to lie. If you win your league it's not because you did a search on someone in your league and discovered that he prefers Phillip Rivers over Matt Leinart.

I've shared a league with one of the most recognizable guys in here for 3 years. I have no advantage over seeing what he writes. None.

It doesn't take a scientist to know that lying in here is pointless.

I just lie about some of my opinions :goodposting: ... until after the draft
Well, anyway...There's no comparison between giving misinformation in a public forum to putting out a fake cheatsheet at a draft party.

Think about it. No one is going to pick up another cheatsheet and really pick Ladell Betts over Brian Westbrook. I mean, seriously. It's a joke, a gag, not something to be taken seriously.

People who actually take the time to put misinformation in a public forum like this does nothing, but harm an otherwise good thing and to no advantage of their own.

Not to nitpick, but it's disinformation.Disinformation is when someone deliberately shares information they know is false.

Misinformation is merely false information spread by mistake.

I used to post a lot with my alias account and my original account but somebody recently moved my messageboards and now I'm stuck with no quality place to go and talk FF

FantasyFootball.com sucks for doing this to me. :lmao:

 You may have the advantage of knowing the cheatsheets are bogus (and a "joke" as you put it) but noobs don't. They believe them. Why wouldn't they? They look like a lot of time and thought went into them, and if a person didn't know much about football then they certainly would appear legitimate.

The worst thing is that footballguys provides both the idea and the resources of cheating with the fake cheatsheets. People who never would have thought about it or taken the time to generate a bogus list, now have everything they need at the click of a button.

Do you seriously think somebody posting they are worried about Peyton's knee -even if they are not - is more harmful than the fake cheatsheets?

I really don't get what the big deal is about this. If you have league mates that also frequent this board I don't see any problem with anyone trying to mislead a league mate about how you value a player. In fact I look at a lot of post on in this forum and think this guy has to be trying to deceive someone in his league......but to me it seems obvious when someone is trying to lead another down the primrose path.

Edit to add: And I see zero difference in misleading someone on a message board and creating fake cheat-sheets.

Exactly. If I pick 3rd in a rookie draft and I let the guy picking 2nd that I am really high on a guy what's to stop the guy from turning around and extorting me to move up a single spot when he didn't really want the guy at the 2 in the first place?

Seriously, where has Joe gone? Is his conscience getting to him and he's changing the fake cheatsheet to something legit?

Don't talk about it here. Providing disinformation only hurts this board as a whole and doesn't benefit the liar at all.

Absolutely. Hundreds and of people read this forum every day. Some people might consider you a good source for information, thus rely on what you have to say. You're potentially feeding disinformation to lots of people across the country.Them > the lightning-striking-a-person-twice-in-one-day odds that someone actually uses a fake cheatsheet.

Let TNT stick with the drama. You're comparing apples to bananas. They look nothing alike.

i'm too lazy to go to the trouble of creating an alias.

i ended up talking too much fantasy football with guys in my leagues before the drafts anyway. we talk about players and i'm generally pretty honest with opinions about players. i try not to get into details of my exact strategy and i shut down the chit-chat as the draft draws closer, but i end leaking alot out.

i really haven't found it to have much of an effect. people have their own opinions and will make their own decisions. sometimes i wonder if people actually avoid players if i've openly mentioned any manlove for them. any self-respecting man wants to make their own decisions.

there are many players the might have the opportunity to join my fantasy teams, so leaked info on any 1 player isn't a big deal.
