Davis was beaten repeatedly by Saints TE Ernie Conwell and was replaced late in the game by S Marlon McCree. Davis will remain at safety, according to Panthers head coach John Fox, but it's unknown if Davis will start Week 2 or if the coaching staff will go with McCree. I really need this guy as my #3 DB. Anyone know any more about this situation?

He is a rookie and make quite a few mistakes. He did not look good yesterday and I would imagine that Fox will bring him along slowly. I would not expect him to be a fantasy starter for a couple weeks...

Panthers | Davis Struggles, But Likely Will Start Week 2

Carolina Panthers rookie SS Thomas Davis struggled mightily in the Week 1 game against the New Orleans Saints, but he likely will remain in the starting lineup. Marlon McCree replaced Davis in the third quarter against New Orleans, but head coach John Fox said it was because Davis injured his knee. Davis is healthy now and said he's preparing as if he'll start in the Sunday, Sept. 18, game against the New England Patriots.

Even though he is a rookie, and will make some mistakes, he still got 4 solos by the 3rd quater. If he can get me 5 - 6 solos a game, he's worth a start.
