Thomas Rawls, RB, CMU/Seahawks (2 Viewers)

there it is...

Seahawks RB Marshawn Lynch is dealing with a hamstring injury that, according to source, makes him “50-50” to play Monday against Detroit.
Unfortunately, MNF makes it a tough call in terms of potentially starting Rawls.
Also the Seahwaks having a losing record are more likely to force Lynch into action. If they were 2-1 or 3-0 I could see them much more willing to give Beastmode some rest, especially with their bye a good distance away.
I disagree. The Loins are demoralized, rudderless and flying across the country to play in the most difficult away stadium in the league. This has blowout and turnover fest written all over it.

My game script prediction is LOTS of 2nd half running by Seattle. It should be out of hand early in the 3rd quarter, regardless of whether or not Lynch takes the field. In all honesty, they couldn't have asked for a better/safer week to let him sit out and get healthy.

Good point. For some reason I thought this was in DET. The whole MNF bit has me worried though.

Just picked up Rawls this week for $3 and was pretty happy about it. Now its sounding like Luck might not play sunday and I dont have any other QB. Rawls is the end of my bench. Mother ####er

got tired of waiting for Reggie Bush so I dropped him and got Rawls on waivers - the hidden bonus is the guy I am playing this week has Lynch as his RB1. Wish I could say it was strategy, but it was just dumb luck.

Back on topic to Rawls and whether or not he'll start.

We know from reports that starting RB Marshawn Lynch didn't practice yesterday but does anyone know if he practiced today? Lynch hasn't had a DNP since 2011 so if he misses the game it would be unusual.

5 things to watch: Seahawks could start Thomas Rawls, not Marshawn Lynch, against Lions

...Seattle tailback Marshawn Lynch didn't practice Thursday because of a hamstring injury and his status for Monday's game is in question. That means the Lions could see a healthy dose of Thomas Rawls.

Though he's an undrafted rookie with 18 career carries, that name is a familiar one around these parts. Rawls hails from Flint and was once a big-time recruit at Michigan before transferring to Central Michigan for his final season.

Rawls never fulfilled his promise with the Wolverines, rushing 73 times for 333 yards in a disappointing three-year career. He was much more productive at CMU, where he rushed for 1,103 yards in nine games as a senior.

But he also had to deal with felony charges of larceny purse theft and stealing credit cards stemming from an incident at a casino. He was never convicted on those charges after cooperating with authorities, though, and is now looking pretty good in Seattle.

He averaged 3.6 yards after contact on 16 carries last week, the second most of any tailback in a game this season (minimum 15 carries). He finished with 104 yards overall -- better than any Lions tailback has managed all season...

Sheil Kapadia twitter says he did not practice.

On Seahawks injury report, Marshawn Lynch did not participate at practice. Continues to look like a game-time decision.

It looks like a classic "We know he's not going to play but damn if I let my opponents know that till game time" type of move.

I have option of starting Golden Tate or Rawls at a flex position. If there is no Beastmode, I might plug in Rawls instead.?

Starting with confidence Monday night and getting a little aroused just thinking about it. Lions can't stop him imo.
You're saying that you are locking him even without knowing how much Rawls will play?

My RB situation is bad this week in the league where I picked him up, so it now comes down to either the Duke or Rawls. Thinking about just going with Rawls for the upside.

Sorry, being very facetious because I have Abdullah just in case. Though still, if I was desperate this week with byes/injuries I'd be really pumped to have Rawls. We'll see what happens.

I picked him up but in a pickle. I really want to start him over Miller (whose done nothing and can't trust to get carries) and Powell (Ivory reported healthy).

Do I chance it and go with Rawls?

I'm benching JStew for Rawls blind in a league where I'm 0-3 because I'm fed up with Stewart, already behind this week thanks to Maxx Williams and need to roll the dice and pray. Have no backups but theoretically I could pick up Zenner or Joique if Lynch plays.

If I fall to 0-4, I'm setting fire to my team and dealing Jamaal Charles for the best offer.

Debating sitting hill for him if lynch sits. I also have Abdullah if lynch does end up going. To think Lacy/Hill were going to be set and forget all season heh.

I would have done that after 0-2. In fact, I did.

Picked up Rawls in a dynasty, have Lynch but was leaning toward Randle and Freeman.

(Redraft 1pt PPR)

I have Rawls, and was trying to get something out of the Lynch owner (2-1). He countered with offering me Lynch for my Joe Randle.

My other RBs are Foster, Freeman, Abdulla.

Do I take this, and roll the dice on Lynch getting healthy? Or just sit back and see how that Seattle backfield plays out. I don't NEED to make this trade. Its just very intriguing.

Id do that in a second. Either way you have the SEA starting RB, and the bonus is you dont have to worry about the DAL backfield soap opera.

That's me... It's Rawls or Spiller.

Two receptions for 17 yards and you are panicked? FF is not for you.

I didn't realize that Rawls had nearly all of his production in the second half of the game against Chicago where he rushed for 98 yards in the second half.

That is impressive IMHO.

Seahawks “Really Fired Up” about rookie RB Thomas Rawls

The big risk is if Lynch not only plays but takes the majority of the snaps but I don't think that happens.

I'm rolling the dice but I like having a backup plan so when I saw that Detroit RB Zach Zenner might get more looks I grabbed him in the un-likely event that Seattle RB Marshwan Lynch miraculously heals and it looks like he will take the majority of the snaps if you pick up Zenner you can always swap out RBs. For anyone who is on the Thomas 'Lou' Rawls train and want a backup plan for Monday Night grab Zenner who 'should' be available in most leagues.

Bell's ankle may open door for Lions rookie Zenner to play

With Bell struggling with an ankle, perhaps he can provide much-needed spark to running game

... Joique Bell missed his second straight practice with an ankle injury Friday, and the Lions might turn to Zenner to spark their struggling running game.

"He's ready," offensive coordinator Lombardi said. "If you guys knew him, you'd know he's ready. He's going to be just fine whatever is asked of him. If all our running backs wake up on Sunday with the flu, Zach Zenner can do it all."

I hope we somehow get word on Lynch before the games tomorrow. If he's out, I'm starting Rawls with confidence. Chances are, we won't know until Monday night.

Report: Marshawn Lynch more likely to sit

Pro Football Talk reported it is more likely Marshawn Lynch does not play Monday night against the Lions.

A source told PFT it is "60-40" Lynch is not playing. Thomas Rawls would see the majority of the carries if Lynch cannot go with Fred Jackson playing a secondary role. Unless Rawls is available as a late swap, it will be too risky to place Lynch in starting lineups on Sunday morning.

I think even if he is active, he barely plays just like Ivory last week. I'm starting Rawls with confidence.

I'm inclined to believe this but historically if Lynch dresses, Lynch plays. These scenarios have played out with his back in the past and he always played.

The back is more of a management issue with him so it IS different than a hammy. I'm just putting that out there to add to the confusion. :)

Tread on Lynch's tires getting thin, calf hamstring back, hopefully it's not all downhill from here

Coach Pete Carroll said Marshawn Lynch's (hamstring) MRI showed "some findings."
It suggests Lynch's hamstring issue is more serious than initially thought. The Seahawks haven't provided any other injury specifics. Lynch remains a game-time decision, but is trending in the wrong direction.

Here are all of his week 3 touches. IMO, nothing about him looks special. A lot of his bigger runs look to be attributed to his OL and not so much his ability.

That being said, he does look at least solid enough to take advantage of a plus match-up and positive game flow (SEA is -9.5) this week.
Curse you with your analysis and your logic.

That said, considering I have CJ Anderson right now I need a guy who can at least get what is blocked.

His offensive line? I can see the play calling but the line? I'll have to watch them Monday and see.
What do you see in the video? I see SEA getting a lot of push and paving the way on his larger gains.

I mean, I upload the videos so everyone can weigh in on what they see and not just some stats on a screen. I can be completely wrong here.

Also, I tend to put more weight into opportunity then I do talent so him not being special in my eyes doesn't auto take him out of start consideration or anything. I'm especially intrigued in using him in DFS because of possible volume plus his dirt cheap price.

Same line didn't block for beast mode? I get he wasn't 100%, but point being, wear & tear could be catching up. Averaging close to 300 carries last 4 years can do that to a player

I wouldn't even be remotely surprised if Lynch was done. There aren't many RBs that can withstand the type of workload he's handled year after year.

http://espn.go.com/blog/seattle-seahawks/post/_/id/14849/pete-carroll-marshawn-lynch-mri-revealed-some-findings

RENTON, Wash. -- Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll indicated Saturday that the MRI on Marshawn Lynch's hamstring did not come back completely clean and reiterated that the running back will be a game-time decision.

Carroll also suggested that Lynch had been dealing with a different hamstring injury prior to the Week 3 game against the Chicago Bears.

"He had [an MRI] last week, and nothing showed up," Carroll said. "And then after the game, he aggravated his hamstring in a different area than anything that he had felt the week before. It happened on that play where he caught the ball on fourth down and he got a little something. So we checked it out, and there were some findings. So he's working hard on trying to get it back."

Chances Rawls has value this year, through the year, not just this week?
Value sporadically until late in the year. Kind of like Karlo Williams. I feel Shady is done and I think Lynch is too, but they have both earned the benefit of the doubt. So I think we are looking at awkward time shares the rest of the way until reality sets in.

Shop him to the Lynch owner in Dynasty, or hold?
Honestly until Seattle works out its o-line issues I don't think he has much value, even in dynasty leagues. Depends on what you can get for him. I offered him for Blount to the Lynch owner in my 14 team dynasty league (own Lewis) and I was swiftly declined.

I'm more concerned about his long-term prospects. I don't really get the feeling that he's "the guy" after Lynch is no longer on the team. And yet, they dumped both Michael and Turbin.

I just bought him for a 2016 3rd rounder rookie pick. Probably middle of the pack. I agree it's a long shot that he takes over as "the guy" but then so is any random 3rd rounder.
