J. Rodgers is definitely on my radar.....Garcon's ADP is going to sky rocket as Lloyds should..their ADP is their floor. Julio Jones is gonna be huge this year....looks like he's on another level.

A street RB might be able to start for the Packers.

Shane Vereen is the most talented all-around RB the Patriots have. Toss out the stats from tonight, toss out when each player played or with whom - Vereen is capable of doing everything and is a perfect fit for the offense. Ridley could still go on to be the better fantasy RB, but I think Vereen will be a major player this year.

Only watched the game with one eye, but Chandler Jones sounds like a beast.

Mallett looked horrible - maybe worse than horrible. Pats pass blocking was pretty rough from what I saw for all 3 QB's. Hoyer is just a better QB right now, though.

Vincent Brown could very well be the SD WR1 this year. All the guy does is make plays.

Some random things from tonight....

Patriots RB situation looks like this for the time being and going forward...

-Ridley has the notch up on being the starting RB. He is exactly what Belichek will like. Hits a hole hard, and will limit runs for a loss.

-Woodhead is the 3rd down RB.

-Vereen looks as though he will be sprinkled in as a COP guy.

Denver...

-2 of Manning's first 3 targets went to Tamme. He will fall back on him a lot I think this year.

-Manning looked very good for not having played for a year. From my untrained eye it looks like he has lost a touch of zip, but his accuracy and decision making will definitely allow him to make up for it.

Redskins..

-RG3 looks so small on the field, but he definitely has potential to contribute in redraft leagues in that offense

SD...

-Ryan Matthews is the opposite of Tomlinson when it comes to avoiding being injured

Chicago..

-I know it was one game, but Forte >>>>> M.Bush. Good job for Chicago paying up to one of the most underrated RB's in the game.

Atl...

-Everyone will jump on Julio Jones, but R. White will probably still lead that team in receptions

Buf...

-I really am not sold on Fitz as a QB of the future for this team. They have some nice pieces on offesne and defense and he really needs to come through

discount Dwyer's runs due to the stellar blocking. in the regular season, those go to Redman. keep an eye on Chris Rainey as a sleeper. he has the speed of fast willie parker and the team looks hellbent on getting him the ball in space.

I was hoping Matthews would fall to me at 10th. Now somebody will take him late 2nd round and he'll torch me.

:goodposting:Dwyer looked good but he had some great blocking in front of him. I give him full credit for taking advantage of it but lets not carried away.

Looking at box scores and highlights, Im confused as to why Lloyds stock should skyrocket

Because he is an excellent receiver.

Why would last night's game change what you think of this though? Shouldn't your opinion of Lloyd be unchanged? Vereen looked really good last night. There's still hope for him.

He did? Compared to what?

I don't want to hijack the thread but after watching the Patriots and remembering how the run thier offense Lloyd seems like a guy who better do well with the 3-4 targets a game he'll get. I just have a feeling that he'll be last in the pecking order.

For my thoughts on the games:

Rodgers ran inside better then I thought. IF Turner gets hurt then he has a LOT of value.

Julio Jones=amazing...can be top 3 this year and this could be the year Matt Ryan explodes....he could be a real value where his current ADP is.

Vick will scare you every week

it's not the box score but just in the way they are going to use him. He's got a lot of great buzz, he's a very good wr and apparently the chemistry is good between he and Brady. They were inches and a terrific play by a DB from about a 40 yard TD. They'll send Gronk and Welker underneath and Lloyd over the top....pick your poison. He's currently ranked 28th...that's his floor IMO.

Graham Harrell does not impress me at all, average arm and he is not accurate, very bad combo in mho. I hope they give Coleman more PT over the next few games and with better players on the field.

I know this was just the first game but our RB's looked pretty bad. Starks dropped an easy screen as well as ran poorly.

James Jones still can't catch, dropped a strike from Rodgers that would have been a score, even though there was a penalty, still got to catch the ball.

Melvin Ingram is a stud!

Ryan Mathews should be a cheerleader because he's so soft. 1st carry?! Retire now.

Julio Jones is the next Megatron.

James Starks is the suck.

RB's are getting to be where they are worthless. I'm learning not to bother drafting RB's early when you can get backs like Quizz, Vereen, Sproles, and Bush later and they will out produce "#1 RB's".

RG III looked good. Gonna be another good year for rookie QBs I think.

Was Robert Meachem's only target the Rivers INT? I was watching multiple games and didn't see every offensive snap or whether there were any signs of chemistry between Rivers and Meach.

I think it may have been. I think it was a bad throw by Rivers unless he was just looking for the single coverage. Meachem was tightly covered. Replay showed Williams in his back pocket and just jumped in front of the pass.

i agree about rb's. its virtually a flip of the coin as to who is gonna stay healthy and perform to their ADP. its almost better to load up on WR's and sure fire Qb's and deal with rb's in mid rounds and thru waivers.

Thank you for the information I bolded. Seeing the boxscore, I was a little bummed today as a Lloyd owner. Now I am happy, as during the season some of those will be TD's.

it was exactly what you wanted to see if you are scouting Lloyd...if he scores on that pass everyone is talking about him today and what a stud he's going to be. They have been hooking up and looking terrific in camp from everything I've read and then on the 1st drive they give him the deep pass that he was brought in for but Brady just threw it a half step behind him which allowed the CB to make a nice last second knock down. I hope they continue to just miss the rest of the preseason so he continues to be under the radar. To me Lloyd is the Britt of last year...draft him as a #3 wr and he's nothing but upside since he's drafted at his floor. He has the ability to be a top 10 wr and finished as the overall #1 wr two years ago with Orton as his QB.

I'm taking the first pre-season game with a grain of salt

But Julio will be beast, which means i'll be loving Matt Ryan in rd 6

-Peyton's throws looks to be sailing a bit, but accurate nonetheless.

-Shea McClellin is disruptive, i dont think the transition hurt him too much

-Jacquizz just became one of my all time favorite sleeper.

If/when Randall Cobb gets a shot...he's going to be a stud.
:goodposting: I like him as well, I do not usually like to talk up players on the teams I pull for but I definitely like Cobb. Personally, I would like to see Jennings/Nelson/Cobb on the field almost at all times.

To what most NFL qb's look like when they drop back behind their O line. I know Brees is a short successful QB, but RG3 looked even smaller than that.

Agreed. As far as value, I honestly think Lloyd may have the greatest value in NE this year on offense. I think Gronk will be fine, but a healthy Hernandez and Lloyd will cut into his value as high as he will be drafted. Brady should be fine, but again, he is being drafted #3 or so, so his upside may not be large. I am almost not high on Welker at all. I watched the couple nice plays to Lloyd (the easy TD if Brady throws it better and the 20+ yarder called back by a bad (commentators agreed) holding call) and I think Lloyd will really eat into Welker's targets. Ocho and whoever else was there last year were so bad that Gronk and Welker were the only targets when Hernandez was out.For Welker, take a look at this:

In Hernandez's two missed games (12.5% of a season) - 25 catches (20% of his total), 375 yards (24% of his total) and 3TDs (33% of his total)

With Lloyd and presumably a healthy Hernandez, I think Welker's floor could be much lower than consensus. Unless Brady turns in a 2007, which based on the OL play last night seems remote, Welker could be the odd man out after an amazing season.

have nothing relevant to add here, but wanted to say thanks for everyone who posted. i won't be catching many preseason games but this topic was great insight and at the very least good breakdown of people i should be looking at. i hope to see more of this for all of the games over the next few weeks.

That didn't take long to come to fruition!

The replacement refs in nyg-jax have been horrible, missing obvious calls and calling phantom ones. The refs in nyj-cin haven't inspired confidence either.

Gerhart looking good vs the San Francisco #1 defense. Aldon Smith hurt his hip.

Unfortunately, Viking defense looks terrible. They just let Kapernick rumble for a 70 yard TD.

Oof. The 49ers don't even have to throw the ball to get chunks of yardage.
