Thoughts from tonights games.... (1 Viewer)

1. Avoid all Cardinals.

2. Pierre Garcon and Reggie Wayne looking like extreme value.

3. Better jump the shark if you want Julio or Matt Ryan.
What does this mean?
I think the shark is referring to the smart guy in your draft...if you didn't know that then you're probably not one :lmao:
Okay.

Jones is ADP now is around 2.11. Are you saying if you really want him you have to get him in the 2.2-2.5 range to be sure?

Julio is now going a full 1-2 rounds before Roddy White in PPR mocks. I've seen him taken as high as WR2. That's ridiculous, and I'm a Falcons fan.

Just watched the Indy game and boy Luck looked good!
Could be the biggest take away from week 1. There isn't a Colt going until the 7th round of most drafts. All starters could have value IMO.

well, you only get one pick in the second round, and you generally don't decide where it is.at this point, I wouldn't bank on him sliding to the third.

if I had to pull a number out of my ###, first of all, I'd normally make sure it was the smallest number possible, but in this case I'd guess he goes in the second in maybe 7 of 10 drafts -- but all these leagues are different.

matthews might still go in the first in one, but the 4th in another.

"Jump the shark" means pick him higher than the "shark" in your draft. You all know who the shark is.
Jumping the shark is an idiom created by Jon Hein that is used to describe the moment in the evolution of a television show when it begins a decline in quality that is beyond recovery. The phrase is also used to refer to a particular scene, episode or aspect of a show in which the writers use some type of "gimmick" in a desperate attempt to keep viewers' interest.

I must have jumped the shark, because last night I got Julio at 35, Mathews at 38, and Matty Ice at 62 :excited:
That makes no sense. I never say this, but "I want to play in your league" because I love values and picking against the grain (i.e. don't get sucked in by a run). Those pick values make no sense. First, huge reaction to Matthews injury to drive him to the 3rd round, yet no reaction to Julio's great night and he is picked later than he was even before his first preseason game. Seems like this league is one where people have no real draft strategy.

I hate posts like this. And I hate when people say Player X is now a 4/5 rounder etc. Every draft is different for a multitude of reasons. We will all be better off if we stick to rating players by position. Player X is now the #16WR etc. Telling me you think Donald Brown jumped up a few rounds isn't helpful to anybody when people have drafts ranging from 10-14 teams, 17-24 rounds, with various scoring systems and line-up requirements. What round a player is taken in is subjective to that particular set of draft day events. A positional ranking is more objective and useful for making draft day decisions.

Jason Hill (den) still looks like he should be a starter in the league. I'm keeping him on my deep dynasty roster to backup decker.

Julio has been my WR2 since the spring.

Very impressed by Luck, not that he's a guy i'd target himself, but I think the passing game in indy will be a lot better than it was a year ago. Wayne could be a nice bounceback candidate, and I absolutely love where Collie is going right now.

I guess I gave it a new meaning, but I thought I had read it as such here before. Maybe not. Thanks, nerd.

:lmao: I hate posts like this. I don't care what scoring rules are, Matthews in the 3rd/4th is a big reaction to his injury and Julio in the 3rd/4th is tantamount to ignoring him including what was so far the biggest pre-season performance. To me, that makes no sense. Did you happen to see his smiley face in his post, did you deduce that that meant he was extremely happy to get those guys there?Besides if you actually read both posts, you would know that I said nothing about someone jumping up a few rounds or anything subjective like that. If you read harder you will realize that my point is that his draft results make no common sense because one "hot" top 5 player got drafted around the same spot as one "falling" originally top 5 player.Feel free to construct setup a 10-14 team league where it makes sense for Julio and Matthews to both go in the 3rd/4th round and I'll hang up and listen.
