Thoughts on buying tickets from a scalper (1 Viewer)

I'm going to be in OKC tomorrow and was thinking about going down to the arena and seeing how much tickets are from a scalper. I've never bought tickets from a scalper before and I know there is a risk the tickets not being legit. I guess my question is have many of you buy tickets from a scalper? Anyone have any stories of being scammed by them? Stub hub is an option, but they have nose bleed seats for $100. I figure I can get a better deal from a scalper.

Use stub hub. You might find something for a little less with a scalper but it's a pain. Plus many scalpers will eat the tickets as to not set a precedent for the future.

Vividseats.com is a little cheaper than stubhub in my experience.

You know the risk of a scalper having fake tickets, so the risk is on you.

i've only bought tix from a scalper once, and got screwed big-time.

never again. StubHub if you're serious about going to a game.

I'd stick with an online reseller for a big game like tomorrow's. The risk of getting fleeced at a high demand event is greater than it would be for a regular season game.

That's what I was kinda thinking that I could get screwed by a scalper for a game like tomorrow. I may plunk out the $100 on stubhub and sit in the upper level. I'm not a OKC fan, but I've never been to a playoff game. I appreciate the advice...

This is good advice... Within 15 minutes of the game start prices will be plummeting on the remaining tickets.

Make sure you actually buy before the start time of the game bc they pull all tickets immediately upon game time.

Went to sporting events as a kid in the 90s at every venue in PGH and my old man got tickets off scalpers, never got fakes. Obviously different times but you'll be fine if you can find the group of guys that all know each other & holding stacks of tickets. Those guys are making a living off doing it and they're there every night. Hold out till tip time and get a ticket off one of them.

I've never heard of this. Explain. I can go to a Dodger game, camp outside the gates, then just buy the best value seats 15 minutes beforehand and show the barcode at the turnstiles? Anybody have stories of getting really great deals with this?

This is true but in the case of the Dodgers, they allow purchases up to the start of the 3rd inning because that's when everyone shows up.

Stubhub, vividseats or ebay.

I've had good luck over the years on ebay get a solo for playoff tickets at last minute & printing the ticket. I personally would avoid scalper. Not worth the trouble IMO
