Thoughts on This Trade Proposal (1 Viewer)

NL only 5x5 roto 10 teams

I need help in era, whip and k (though less than era and whip) and am long hitting

I give:

R howard

L hawkins

I get

A Laroche

Josh Johnson or Johnny Cueto

He also has Johan Santana, Clayton Kershaw, Carlos Zambrano (inj) and Randy Wolf on his team.

I am proposing this. Thoughts?

oofFor Ryan Howard Id ask for Johan
It's new league with new owners. Howard off to slow start (as is laroche). I am in last in whip/era.One thing I've noticed is that our inexperienced league places a higher premium on pitching than other leagues. It hurt me in the draft as it relates to pitching, and I am having trouble rectifying.

No freaking way I'd do this deal. Ryan Howard?

If you insist go with Josh johnson, but I really really would not. And LaRoche? In a 10 -teamer? Try and get more.

Find it hard to believe there isn't pitching on the wire.
Here are the top pitchers sorted by % ownership. Can't sort by SP in ESPN:David Patton, ChC RP FA Joe Martinez, SF RP FA Tommy Hanson, Atl SP FA Ben Sheets, Mil SP DTD FA Oliver Perez*, NYM SP DL15 FA Carlos Villanueva, Mil RP FA Anibal Sanchez*, Fla SP DL15 FA Todd Wellemeyer, StL SP, RP WA (Sun) [ Claim ] Sean Marshall, ChC SP, RP FA [ Add ]Hong-Chih Kuo*, LAD SP, RP DL15 FA Livan Hernandez, NYM SP FA Pedro Martinez, NYM SP FA Shairon Martis, Was SP FA Joe Beimel, Was RP WA (Sat) Todd Coffey, Mil RP FA David Weathers, Cin RP FA Jon Rauch, Ari RP FA Andrew Miller*, Fla SP DL15 FA Jeff Samardzija, ChC SP, RP FA Tim Hudson*, Atl SP DL60 FA Kyle McClellan, StL RP FA Arthur Rhodes, Cin RP FA Pedro Feliciano, NYM RP FA Ramon Troncoso, LAD RP FA Tom Glavine*, Atl SP DL15 FA Chad Gaudin, SD SP, RP PP FA Several of those guys have already spent time on my team.I guess the most interesting guy is Shairon Martis. Only .5k/inning but decent era and whip.

awful - and from a biased sourceJosh Johnson is a good young arm, but he has exactly one year with over 100 innings, and never more than 160 innings. Johan Santana is the best pitcher in the game today. Howard for Santana straight up is a great deal for you.

Howard is the slowest starter in Baseball. Usually bats close to .200 through May. If you want to give up 45 home runs and 140 RBIs, sure.

April 2007 - 3 HR 13 RBI .221 AVG .786 OPS He Finished - 47 136 .268 .976

April 2008 - 5 HR 11 RBI .172 AVG .640 OPS He Finished - 48 146 .251 .881

April 2009 - 4 HR 15 RBI .288 AVG .892 OPS -- ???

He's looking as good this year as he did in his rooking campaign when he was the MVP.

Howard didn't win the MVP as a rookie, though he did capture ROY honorsHe won the MVP in 2006

My bad. He won it in his first full season.

:thanks:

OK

I get it.

Thanks--I didn't offer the trade.

I am going to start another thread with both of our teams and standings and see if there are any thoughts about potential trades.

Yeah, his ROY year he came up well in to June IIRC, only had like 90 games

Yes. Still I don't trade this guy. Not this year with his average numbers up early. His stat line could get straight nasty by the end of the year.

Agreedhe's a buy candidate right now if Howard owners are getting nervous

Technically he said rooking. Apparently he played alot of chess that year.
