Thoughts on which week LJ will return (1 Viewer)

Is anyone planning on him for your playoff run or are you going with plan B?

Is this guy even working out? Is he running or walking?

This is like pulling teeth.

I'm going with plan B. The lack of info speaks volumes IMO. Is it improving? practicing? no one knows. There doesn't seem to be a time table so owners have to think about Plan B. If he comes back it's a bonus but I'm not counting on it.

I'll just take one of either LJ, ADP or Marvin at this point. Looks like I've got ADP, so LJ would just be bonus.

I honestly think LJ plays this season, but it may be very late in the season. He absolutely HATES sitting out, so if he's capable, he'll play.

Since they haven't said he's out for the season, I'm believe there's a chance he can recover and if there's a chance he'll do all he can to play. I personally think he may play week 15, but more likely week 16. That's just pure speculation and gut feel, but that's what I'm thinking.

Same problem here dude...

I'm contemplating cutting Maroney for LJ.
A keeper league I hope.
Maroney is locked under a mammoth contract while LJ would only be good for the rest of this year. I'd pray someone in need of a rb would snag Maroney thus saving me the $. I'm also considering dropping Maroney for Gado. Maroney has a terrible contract and it's going to screw me next season unless I can sucker someone else into picking it up off the waiver. At the same time, Maroney is my #2 rb and the only other option I have is Travis Henry/Selvin Young...I'm in a good position to win it all this year so I need some bodies that will be receiving carries. Maroney isn't much but he's at least something.

I was able to land Ryan Grant right before LJ went down. So I guess I'm going with Plan B.

If LJ comes back, he would be on my bench unless 1 of my starters has a brutal matchup. Don't know if I can count on him coming off that injury.

My gut feeling all along was that he would not be back, but I'm keeping him stashed away on the bench just in case.

Its so disappointing. This guy had 3 very solid weeks in a row and looked like he was getting into "football" shape after holding out.

I was hoping to finish with LT,LJ and J Lewis.

I also hoped to finish with LJ and LT and fill in my RB3 with Graham, Selvin Young (hurry up and suspend Henry please), and Maroney based on matchups.

I dropped him 2 weeks ago in an (extremely short-lived) fit of genius and picked up Ricky Williams. Redraft with only a 12 man roster. I had ADP hurting too; I can only handle so many guys riding the pine.

i also have Maroney on my bench and have started LT,J Lewis and Maroney the last 2 weeks. Thank God Maroney gets a goal line carry once a game. He scored both times the last 2 weeks on the same formation basically.

Same here, I think he's done.

When Herm said he was out for this week I started to think he is done for this year especially since they have almost no shot at the playoffs. He just signed a big deal.Chiefs have said all along that 2008 is their year.If he does come back his schedule won't be that easy:Week 14 at Den - 29th vs rush is a great matchup butWeek 15 vs Ten - 6th vs rush but I would think Haynesworth would be back by thenWeek 16 at Det - 9th vs rush

LJ jogs

Injured running back Larry Johnson did some light work with trainer Dave Price in a corner during the portion of practice open to the media. Edwards said Johnson “jogged around on it,” but that he would not practice this week and will miss his fourth consecutive game.

Edwards left open the possibility of Johnson practicing and playing next week.

Just to add to the above, some more quotes as seen on AOL:
Chiefs running back Larry Johnson jogged and tested his injured right foot on Wednesday. "He jogged around today on it and came up to me and had a big smile on his face," head coach Herm Edwards tells the team's official web site. "He looked good. So, we'll see where he's at. Now, he didn't participate with the team, but he jogged around." Johnson is out for Week 13, but Edwards did not rule out a return in Week 14. Kolby Smith will start this Sunday.

Week 15 would be 42 days since the injury. That seems like plenty of time even if he had a cracked bone.

Though I'ld like to see him come back in two weeks if HEALTHY, my guess would be next year. Why bring him back to play out the year if they are out of the playoff hunt? I don't see them winning their division and they have too much invested to risk further injury.

I think they would have already placed him on IRif there was no chance of a return this season.I think he will be back.Whether or not he can produce is an entirely different story.

RANDY COVITZ TOP OF THE MORNIN' - TOP OF THE MORNIN': Chiefs are stockpiling draft choices for '08N o matter where the Chiefs finish this season, they figure to be major players in the 2008 NFL draft.

One of coach Herm Edwards' intentions in making his team younger was to stockpile draft choices, and so far they've accumulated three extra picks for the 2008 draft. They'll have Miami's fourth- or fifth-rounder for Trent Green; and conditional, second-day picks from Tampa Bay for defensive tackle Ryan Sims and from the Giants for kicker Lawrence...

Stockpiling picks for 2008 means they are trying to get younger, not that 2008 is "their year." Talent takes time to develop.

(Rotoworld) Larry Johnson (foot) told a local radio station in Kansas City that he believes he could have played in Week 13.

Impact: L.J. has been ruled out against San Diego and will not dress, but coach Herm Edwards says "we'll see" about him possibly facing Denver in Week 14. L.J. ran on the foot Wednesday, but that's a long way from facing contact.
I'm still holding out hope...

Even if he could have gone this week I don't think he'd have done much on limited carries against the Chargers. Fantasy owners are most likely better off that there's no confusion over whether/how much Johnson would play this week. Next week against the miserable Broncos run D, now there's something to hope he can get on the field for.

I believe he will play week 14. He said on the radio today he could have gone this week.
As in, he really could have gone this week or as in Shaun Alexander's foot being healed by God?We've all seen/heard players say all kinds of things that never come true.

Oh how I would love this to happen. I have a 1st round bye and I'd like to see if he has a good week 14 before I'd have to decide to start him week 15.

I scooped up this guy late last week because of info in this thread. If he plays next week, I would be tickled. I've been starting Kenny Watson for 4 weeks.

If I get LJ back along with ADP, I may just wet my pants! :hophead:

If he's back in full force, I WILL win my dynaty league this year. :kicksrock:

Herm Edwards also said running back Larry Johnson would probably be out for the fifth straight game with an injured foot, and that backup guard Rudy Niswanger was scheduled for an MRI on his injured knee and would probably be out, possibly for the season.
Smith will make his third straight start in Denver because Larry Johnson again won’t be available, but Smith will go right back to the bench when and if Johnson returns this season.

This would be far more valueable if the source was included

2008. If i owned LJ in any of my leagues I would have dropped him by now
Yeah, I probably should have. I held him because they wouldn't IR him. Hindsight is 20/20, and I realize all the pundits on here were screaming drop him, but bottom line if KC wouldn't IR him then I was going to hold him. Still coasted to a 1st week bye so it's not like I was hurting.
