Hate it. Takes up another night and it's really bad for fantasy. I think it will lead to injuries and poor games as well with so little time between Sunday and Thursday to recoup and prepare.

I like it. Sunday, Monday, & Thurs night games allow me to watch an entire football and all the gamesmanship. Sunday 1&4 is a frantic, red-zone channel, ADHD blur. Sometimes I just like watching 1 game and not refreshing my fantasy tracker every 2 mins.

Hate them. Hate the NFL. If it weren't for fantasy, I wouldn't pay attention anymore. NFL is a money making machine and they're going to find any way possible to get it....whether you like it or not.

I have Time Warner and they don't have NFL channel.

Need I say more?

 :boxing: :hot:
Still?I went w/ Directv last year because of this.
Cablevision just got NFL network 2 weeks ago.My life feels complete now.
same here. But I dont love the Thursday night gamesDid you get Red Zone last week. I was out but checked in real quick on my sling box and didnt see it. It should be channel 151
It is not included with the NFL network, but under a different sports package.I ordered only NFLN for like 4.95, then like at 2PM i called and just got a GOLD package that gives me like 57082 channels which included this sports package.

They offered a $50 gift card so if I don't like the package or it's too expensive I can cancel after a month.

Hmmm, Thanks. I already have the highest package you can have but dont have that additional sports package. Ill call and see how much it is.

I'm amazed how often TNF is a snoozer.

I like in that it's a game I can sit down and watch and enjoy and not have to worry about what's going on in the other games like I do at 1 and 4 on Sundays. That said, I HATE that I can only watch it on the NFL network, which I don't get (cut the cable 2 years ago and won't go back).

My wife and I have turned it into a kinda "date night" (she's a bit of an NFL fan), so we drive down to the local Outback (less than 2 miles away), and watch the game and are on a first name basis with most of the staff there and all the bartenders. What I REALLY HATE more than the NFL network, is that here in Virginia, you need an "entertainment license" to play ANY audio from TVs, so we have to watch the games without sound. We could go to a local "sports bar", but our local ones have gotten a bit rough/rowdy lately.

Thought I'd love it, but am not overly thrilled for some reason. Maybe it's the quality of the game or the announcers who are kind of blah or the fact that waivers/trades are effected by it, but it's just not doing it for me.

There might be a radio app so you can listen to the radio broadcast if you have a smart phone. Also, outback wings are amazing!

:goodposting: Here's a look at the TNF schedule this season:

Giants/Panthers

Browns/Ravens

Cardinals/Rams

Steelers/Titans

Seahawks/Niners

Bucs/Vikes

Chiefs/Chargers

Colts/Jax

Dolphins/Bills

Saints/Falcons

Broncos/Raiders

Bengals/Eagles

the only games that stand out to me are Giants/Panthers and Saints/Falcons...I guess I can add NY/Dal and Chi/GB to the list of stand out games on paper...but i easily see 5 snoozers, and the rest are just meh...that being said, the perception of some of these teams are bound to change in the next few weeks, which may change the significance of some of these games....

But, IMHO, the Thursday Night games to me are nothing more than just a money grab by the NFL, and I wish they would get rid of it (they never will)...I'm sure teams hate it...the quality of Football is usually bad due to players still recovering from Sunday and coaches having an abbreviated week to game plan...it is nice to have some football to look forward to in the middle of the week if my team is playing or i have fantasy players involved, but overall i can do without it

ETA: I thought about adding CIN/PHI to the games that stand out, but i can see CIN being 4-9 by then and Nick Foles at QB for an injured Mike Vick
Sleep while losing?

huh? I'm looking at it from a national standpoint. I doubt that game will draw much interest outside of the two fanbases...SEA/SF games are always competitive, so it may end up being a good game (i think SF blows out SEA, especially if Wilson starts), but i doubt people will make it appointment TV....

I was just kidding, man. Giving you, uh, stuff. *I kind of like the Seahawks, though they're not my team.**I think the same about Wilson.

so my first big thursday night game issue has come up tonight. our league process trades as soon as the commish gets on the site and sees them accepted. Commish is great about doing this and we've had no problems in the last 6 years. Well Amendola was just traded about an hour ago. 2 hours prior to kickoff. Its obvious the new owner would start him, but it doesn't look like the trade will be processed in time. I dont think its anyone's fault, but trading players who play on thursday is going to be very difficult in the future.

I hate it. The games are generally pretty bad because of a lack of preparation, and it seems like every time I start someone on my fantasy team, they have a terrible game.

Why can't the team that is receiving Amendola just post on the message board that he wants to start him over ______ who is currently in his starting lineup. I can't imagine that the commish/league would have a problem with that.

it might just come down to this. But its all this last minute run around on a thursday that I'm not a fan of right now.

Similar issue. Expect this to become a bigger issue. Traded for Fitz in a yahoo public money league and it won't be processed til Friday but says it will reflect these line ups for week 5 and I'm trading away Colston so I need one of them in my line up. That said, these Thursday night games were fun at the end of the season for a few weeks and didn't really affect fantasy too much b/c trade deadlines were passed, bye weeks were passed, etc. Football is like diamonds, they have a pure monopoly on the market. Thursday night football is like trying to give everyone diamonds but still keep the rarity of them. While we fans longed for more football, now it is becoming less prestigious and the NFL would have just been better keeping us wanting more like De Beers does with diamonds.

This too, I like to do most of my research on Saturday, now I have to do it during the week. I also imagine I'll forget about a few Thursdays and miss something. At the end of the year, it was more manageable and mostly just during playoffs when I obviously had more vested in the game.

One of the main reasons I don't like is that it has totally screwed up the FA bidding for the high stakes leagues who have all gone to two FAAB periods per week - on Wednesday and (still) on Friday.

The week becomes two compressed to properly evaluate the games just played and the upcoming week to have to spend a lot of time on Wednesday (or Tuesday) to get all the bids in for several teams on Wednesday .... plus it makes Friday too soon (Saturday would be better) and anticlimactic. I enjoy the free agent bidding and just wish it was once a week on Saturday or Friday.

Move it to Friday night. Move the Friday college games to Thursday since there is already college games on Thursday.

Someone posted some QB stats a while back for Thursday games vs Sunday games and I need to find that thread. I believe it did show a significant drop in stats on the Thurs games.
