You can't spell elite without an elite QB's name.what is the criteria for being elite?

Do you really have over 8 million posts?Ask this question this time last year and Big Ben wins going away (and Rivers probably gets 2nd most votes).Ask it again next year and I bet it looks much different than any vote cast in the last two seasons.
The Broncos beat a beatup Steelers team, it doesn't make him better than Stafford. I'd bet Stafford wins a Super Bowl as starting QB before Tebow does. (and I happen to like Tebow a lot)Playoff wins:Tebow- 1Stafford- may as well be negative a trillion because it'll never happenNot when he faces Stafford. Fact.Tebow wins games. Deal with it.This thread is garbage. Tebow over Stafford or Cam? Come on man.
Interesting. I toyed with the idea of adding him - but feared being called a homer.Well, I have learned that I like Cutler more than most people.

If Peyton is healthy, he's easily on par with those other guys. Are you talking about age? While he's the oldest, Brady is only a year younger and Brees is 33 years old.Why is Peyton included in the top 4? When I see in the NFL today I am assuming we are valuing them as of today. I think there are only 3 guys in the tier 1 - Brees, Brady and Rodgers.

It would probably help if he would win a playoff game as well.Stafford is top 10 now, for sure, but he has only done it one season. I'd say he needs to do it again before he is in the same tier as Eli, Roethlisberger and Rivers, IMO. I mean, are we already calling Victor Cruz a top 5 NFL WR because of this year alone? Don't get me wrong, what is happening currently is extremely important, but very recent history has to be taken into account as well.Stafford down????Why is Romo an option and not Rivers? I think most would agree that Rivers, Roethlisberger and Eli are 5-7 (regardless of order).![]()
+1I was leaning Eli but I think it's Ben by a nose still...Coming off one of the best games of his career, Eli will get a lot of extra votes here but I'm still going with Roethlisberger. Big Ben has the higher TD%, lower INT%, higher Y/A (8.0 to 7.0), QB rating (92.1 to 82.1) and better playoff record. Stafford doesn't have enough time under his belt for me to strongly consider him. He'll most likely be there one day though.
Huh?? The guy broke the rookie QB passing yardage record along with the rushing TD record in his first year. How is that "Extremely limited upside." I would say that is huge upside. No competent GM would take Newton among the top 10 QB's in the game, much less #2. Fantasy football is not real football. Cam has extremely limited upside as a franchise QB.only bc hes 5-8 yrs younger. i mean, the majority of gms would take newton no2 after rodgers but that doesnt mean newton is better than the rest.Oh please. One of 4 men in history to throw for 5,000 yards. I would guess every GM in the league would take Stafford over Rivers. The majority would take Stafford over most the others on the list.
Completely agree that those 3 are in the same tier and too close to separate. Completely disagree that any of them are in "that" tier if "that" tier is the top tier with Manning, Brees, Brady, Rodgers. Those 3 are very good QBs and possibly franchise QBs. The 4 in the OP are hall of famers (or will be very soon) that could make the playoffs on any roster in the NFL. I see a very big dropoff after the top 4 to this group.Peyton man belong in the 2nd group post-injury, but I think he has earned the benefit of the doubt until he shows that. Why on Earth is there a limit 5?Eli, Roethliserger, and Rivers are too close to intelligently separate IMO. They are all in that tier.
FUBAR "betting" Stafford wins a Super Bowl before Tebow doesn't mean anything. You know what does mean something? Winning in the playoffs.I'll take the pushThe Broncos beat a beatup Steelers team, it doesn't make him better than Stafford. I'd bet Stafford wins a Super Bowl as starting QB before Tebow does. I assumed that the point of this exercise was to speculate on what you think, not to say "Well he hasn't played long enough so theres no way of knowing for sure."That is pure speculation; you have no way of knowing that. I'll say it again: Stafford needs to do it again first. One great season doesn't put you in the top tier for your position at any position in the NFL. Again, are you calling Victor Cruz a top 5 NFL WR?
fixed.not so sure Stafford belongs on the list, being that he's only `done it` once..Ben definitely..Eli definitely.and I'm with you on the 'Peyton doesn't belong here' thing..Between Big Ben and Stafford Eli. Not sure how you can leave Stafford off that list. Not sure Peyton should still be considered a franchise QB.
