Tiki Interviews Eli (1 Viewer)

NY/NJMFDIVER

Footballguy

I've been very critical of tiki since his retirement and trashing, but even I'm softening up some sympathy for him. He handles this like a man with class and the Giants and Eli got their ring and he has his thoughts. Seems like that debt is paid, I'll try not to hate Tiki any more. He laid it on the line for a long time, worked himself up from being an afterthought 3rd round back/punt returner to being a borderline HOFer. Figure its worth a view for those interested.

Awkward is right....especially Tiki's voiceovers....jeez he sounds like he should be reading a bedtime story to some kids. Honestly, that couldn't have been easy....for both of them. Props to Tiki....listen, the guy was a great player, it really was unfortunate how he came across last year because I always had nothing but respect for him....he was a lot of fun to watch.

Tiki is only showing class now because he wants a career in broadcasting.

Real class would have been retiring without taking shots at Manning and Coughlin.

The old saying is "Don`t burn your bridges" Tiki bombed his bridges with Giant fans.

I don't think it was as hard as you think it was for him. Im pretty sure Tiki lost the will to play last year and was super excited about kcikstarting a career in TV. Sure, he would have preferred a superbowl. But honestly, if he was the kind of guy that wanted it so much that this would have been gut wrenching for him, he would have continued playing because he was definitely physically capable of it. He just didnt want that life anymore.SO Im sure he's sorry he didnt win it all. But not that sorry.

Giants homer... HAHAHAHAHAHA that was so sweet. If i was Eli I would have taken some major shots at him..

like.. "we got the boost we finally needed from our backfield" or something to that effect.

don't get me wrong.. before tiki started shooting off his mouth... he was my all-time favorite giant... i just felt like he showed his true colors after he retired... not cool tiki, not cool.

I hear what your saying, I meant it in the context of the remarks he made about Eli's leadership skills early in the season. To say that and then have to interview the guy after he just lead his team to the freakin Super Bowl.....ouch....

Wow. Must have been difficult for tiki. Its just a different team with different karma. His exiting comments were unfortunate, but I can now thank him on a few different levels.

Not just with Giants fans but fans who enjoy some form of loyalty. Hearing him backstab Coughlin and Eli just to sell his book made me absolutely sick. For me, knowing that Couglin and Eli overcame all that poison Tiki was spewing was just as sweet as having the Patriots finally come back down to Earth (sorry Pat fans).I was a fan of Tiki, but I lost all respect for him. Even if he did feel that way and even if he was right, he should have just shut his mouth and retired. There were plenty of teammates on the team who he should have respected enough to not try and stir up the pot. He didn't care, he wanted to say what he had to say and could care less about any fallout.I don't care if he's sorry. Being sorry and asking for forgiveness are two different things anyway. I don't think he would ask for forgiveness for what he did.....I believe that he's sorry that he didn't get a ring though.

Tiki watched as his twin brother won one...now he watches his ex-teammates (some of which I'm sure he's still good friends with) land a championship as well. Must be somewhat painful.
