Tim Tebow going forward? Where does he rank among QBs? (2 Viewers)

I still believe that most of those camp reports were part of a media campaign orchestrated by the team to downplay Tebow so that fans would trust Fox turning the reigns of the team over to a loser yet again ... so instead you leak all sorts of negative reports about what is going on where they can't see.
Ooo...I see. You're one of those guys. I was at some of the open practices along with many others. We saw it first hand along with much of the local media who seem to LOVE Tebow - yet they reported the same thing. This is like when a homeless guy approaches me on the street and tells me that the aliens are watching and are all around us. Just agree with them and walk away slowly. So...

You know, you may be right, az. It's a global media cover up.

How can I argue with this?

/walking away slowly...

I don't know why I'm trying to reason with those who won't attempt to do so, but here goes....The criticisms about Tebow are all based upon emotion; there is clearly a virulent antipathy for this guy among many, many people, especially those in the sports journalism community. This comes out constantly with those nasty refernces to Tebow's religious views, his clean-cut lifestyle and his decency and humility. Those of us who are defending Tebow are giving you cold, hard statistics, which is the best, fairest way to judge any player's abilities. We've posted his stats from last season, and compared them to all rookie QBs in the modern era. No one has even attempted to respond to that, except to say that "you can't judge by such a small sample" or words to that effect. For those who've brought up the criticisms directed at Vince Young or Sam Bradford, those are simply not apt analogies. In the case of Young, no one claimed he "couldn't play" in the NFL after his first three starts. As for Bradford, the critiques were nothing compared to what Tebow has endured. There is a strain of pure hatred in the remarks directed at Tebow, both on internet forums and in comments by "journalists" like Hoge and Esiason. They aren't being impartial, and when they speak of Tebow, they are treating him like they've treated no other player. Yes, Tebow only started 3 games. He performed exceptionally well, however, despite the lies (and yes, anyone who doesn't acknowledge how well he played is willfully distorting the truth) from Merrill Hoge, Mike and Mike and all the other idiots at ESPN. The only "evidence" we have that Tebow "can't play in the NFL" are his allegedly awful practices this preseason. But that purely anecdotal "evidence," which can't be bolstered statistically at all, is clearly refuted by not only his rookie performance, but his limited performance this far this preseason (113 QB rating). That's not being a Tebow-lover, that's citing pure, empricial evidence vs. emotional outbursts and supposedly "expert" observation. I'll take statistics over jock sniffing "expertise" any day, thank you.
What did you think of the Detroit game?
