What "commissioner threads" that aren't "should I veto this trade" or disguised "should I veto this trade" threads are getting moved to the AC forum?

Since I'm not a mod, I'm not 100% sure. Guidelines about what is acceptable isn't clear to board members. But I've seen many that didn't need to be moved, get moved.

The baseball forum was ultimately a mistake. This is a bad idea.
Obviously, because baseball doesn't belong on a football website.
I strongly disagree with this because presuming there were enough FBG forum posters who wanted to "talk" baseball, WHY would Joe & David make them go somewhere else to share opinions? Giving those people a separate Forum was just good for the community - as would in my opinion having a FF Commissioner's Forum where we could all share information and ideas and problem solving for FF leagues.

Sure Perry, it's just my opinion that it doesn't belong here, nothing more. I fully understand why Joe and David created the forum. Thanks for your vote and contributing to the thread! (Not sarcasm.)Rody

Give me an example or two these "many threads that were moved that should not have been moved"Pretty much every commissioner thread that I have seen moved is a "should I veto this trade" or a disguised "should I veto this trade".Just a couple examples. If there are so many that you have seen, this should be pretty easy for you to do.

Just a couple examples. If there are so many that you have seen, this should be pretty easy for you to do.
Example 1. Discussion about how to handle a situation where a trade was approved 15 minutes before kickoff, resulting in the teams having empty lineup spots.Example 2. Commish asking for input on how to handle a situation where owners made a trade involving conditional picks when they didn't have rules in place made to address conditional trades. You participated in this thread incidentally.

Example 3. Commish faced with a trade made between good friends that he felt was questionable. Did his due diligence and asked the owner to send his explanation of why he felt the trade was a benefit to his team so he could come to a decision based on the owner's reasoning. Owner hadn't replied. Commish was asking the SP how long a commish should wait to hear back, and if he didn't get a reply is vetoing it then the right course. You participated in this one too. Unfortunately very few people seemed to bother to actually read the original post, as they treated him like he was just going to veto or not based on what he thought of the trade when that wasn't the situation and didn't answer the questions he was asking for help with.

In the case of all three threads, moving them to the AC forum effectively ended the thread, and like most threads like this after the move to AC we never get to hear how the resolution turned out.

Each of them was a situation a commish might run into in their own league at some point, and seeing discussion on how to handle it and how the advice worked would probably have been useful for a lot of commissioners.

Have you seen the baseball forum? It's a dead zone. Heck basketball and even hockey might be discussed more on these forums than baseball.

And by the way, I could go on with the examples. Those just happened to be the 3 most recent threads in the AC forum that I have replied to. I've replied to 6 this year that were moved to the AC forum. The 4th one in the list for me is a commish asking how to handle a situation when someone raced to accept a trade when one of the players he would be trading away got injured. The 5th is a true "should this trade be vetoed or not". The 6th is asking how to handle a situation where a trade was accepted and then an owner says there was an error in it from what was meant to be offered.

So out of the 6 commish questions I've replied to this year that were moved to the AC forum, only 1 of them was specific to a league involving weighing the exact players on two sides of a trade. The other 5 threads could have been of use to other commissioners to make sure their rules are clear on such situations, or at least have an idea how to handle it if it happens to them.

Thanks so much GregR for taking the time to look for the threads dagwood was asking to see. Those are also the most recent ones I was thinking about. I was offline for a while taking care of work around the house this afternoon and I appreciate your efforts to locate and post links. I would gladly have done so, if you hadn't beaten me to it.

As you stated, once moved, the thread discussions basically died. I would think that is because most folks who enter the AC aren't there to discuss commissioner issues, but rather to get answers for their own WDIS and trade questions.

In addition, also as you stated, "discussing situations other commissioners might run into in their own league at some point, and seeing discussion on how to handle it and how the advice worked would probably have been useful for a lot of commissioners." This is where I believe the inherent value lies in creating a Commissioners Forum.

Furthermore, I don't usually start threads or polls as I generally don't have a "new" idea or pressing issue. Rather, I participate in threads that interest me which others have started. I am not the most active poster here at FBG, but I participate quite a bit. I'm not exactly sure why "proof" was needed in this case, but I was certain I wasn't misrepresenting the facts.

why not just keep this as the Master commissioner thread?
If the decision comes down from Joe and David to not have a Commissioners Forum but instead would rather a master thread be pinned here in the SP, I think a new thread would be better suited to handle those needs. Again, just my opinion.
