I am not sure what we will do in my league that's use team return units. Last time the 35 was used for kickoffs, 27% of kicks were touchbacks, compared to 7% last year. And some think it may be closer to 50%.
If that happens the best units are only 2.5 ppg better than the last starter in our system. Barely makes it worth having. It does highlight teams with good returners though instead of teams that give up the most scores as it is now.
Drafting a guy like DeSean Jackson or Amendola because they return is still going to be gravy if they remain on punt duty. Not too many WRs return kicks and post WR yardage worth starting them. I don't really think this changes a ton. It does change things up a bit if your league includes special teams plays into the team defense slot. Now teams with better return games wont be as valuable.
