Time to drop Mario Williams? (1 Viewer)

Super Mario has been off the last couple of weeks? Is it time to drop him? Charles Grant is available in my league. Trent Cole is my other DL. Or is Mario just coming off injury and I shouldn't worry?

Thanks,

Tom

Cutting him would be a panic move. Mario is a stud. Hold.

agree that dropping is a panic move.....what about putting him on the bench? Due to bye weeks, my only possible option if I left Mario on the bench would be Charles Johnson. I know he made your IDP sleeper list this week Tony, Mario is questionable again.....is the 49ers that good a matchup.....in fact more to the point....the Buffalo matchup really does look juicy.....my gut feeling has me sending Mario to the pine and riding the hot hand.

I am one who usually goes with my studs. I just can't see benching Mario unless I have someone fairly elite to replace him with.

I'm in the same boat as you gtf. IMO he's a stud and I start him every week. I think the ship will right itself eventually.

Same problem Mario or Ogunleye I think Mario will be in there. He is due and a stud. Like to stick with my main guys unless they are in bad shape should be alot healthier this week concidering no practice last week and light this week and a good matchup mario is the man.

I'm not saying that it would warrant dropping Mario, but would you not consider Trent Cole an elite DL?? Especially in tackle heavy scoring systems. He's had 62, 70, 77 total tackles and 8, 13, 9 sack the respective past three seasons (plus FF, FR, you know where I'm going with this). He's on pace for 80 total tackles and 14 sacks this year. I understand Mario is a freak of nature and has a higher ceiling if he lives up to his full potential, but Cole has been living up to his full potential and has put up consistent numbers for the past 3 years (and on pace for his best one yet). How can you not consider him "elite enough" to push Mario to the bench on a matchup basis at least?

I never said Cole isn't elite. He obviously is. My comment was more in response to starting a low grade sleeper like Charles Johnson in place of Mario. That is the question the poster asked.

Crap, my mistake, I read his post quickly and thought I saw that Trent Cole was another DL on the waiver wire (not his other DL). Sorry about that.

I've been holding on and holding on and can't afford to wait out the ongoing goose eggs.

Time for life without Mario...

In a shallow redraft (like 10 teams, start 2, limited benches) I probably would drop him too, but in a dynasty or deeper redraft I couldn't.
