Time To Give Up On Tatupu? (1 Viewer)

I'm a patient guy, but not sure how much longer I can wait. Gene and John, what is your take on Lofa? We're at 4 weeks of playing now and nothing more than 5/3 and no sacks. If that is his high water mark, I've got plenty of better options on the waiver wire. Have the injuries slowed him? If you could give me an idea what his opportunties have been relative to his production, it would give me some perspective. Are we looking at Nick Barnett type concern here?

Hope to watch this game later on today, my patience is growing thin with him too.

Tatupu has never been a big tackle producer. He's had a number of 8+ solo games against better matchups, but usually settles into the 85-92 solo tier by year's end. His value shoots up a half-tier with the rest of the high LB2 guys because of his above-average big play/coverage value. He's getting very little of that extra value this season with the Seahawks struggling on offense.

Still, he absolutely should've been more productive yesterday. A Tatupu without the usual big play bump and that doesn't produce against a nice matchup like last week with nice opportunity falls back to the end of the LB2 tier for me. If you've got other options, it's time to consider them each week in a start 3 LB league.

It looked like Tatupu missed 4-5 tackles. From what I could tell, he moved around alright and all, didn't look real instinctive at times, was snookered on some fakes and misdirections and he doesn't have the speed to recover. Wasn't one of his better games.

I'll set it to record. He looked fine last week, just didn't play well.

Was able to see some of the game last night. Lofa has the cast on his right hand from thumb surgery, which may cause him to miss a tackle here or there and some difficulty shedding blocks. He looks alright, the cast is a bit of a handicap.
