A comment in one of the many Lundy threads got me thinking... when do you time your trade when you have a big-hype "sleepers" on your roster?
Here are some examples - Lundy, Travis Henry, Mike Bell, Ben Watson, Marion Barber III, etc.
Let's say the player you have on your roster is at most a backup, but more likely a 4th string player (e.g. you have Gates & Watson, or RBs of Clinton Portis, Brian Westbrook, Warrick Dunn and Marion Barber. Also let's say that there are other positions (say QB or WR) where you could use an improvement. Also assume that YOU think the player has potential (otherwise you wouldn't have drafted them).
When do you try to trade these guys? Before they show that they suck? After they show they're for real? Never?
***DISCLAIMER*** This is not a thread discussing the value of Lundy, or how Ben Watson should be a top 5 TE, or how the RB situation in Denver is a mess... only on the value of trading prospect picks ***/END DISCLAIMER***
(edit - I forgot to say - assume the league is standard scoring, redraft)
