Timschochet - It's time, guy.... (1 Viewer)

Man, you need to just put it all in one place. I was once like you. A thread starter with no boundaries. But I've stopped. You need to as well. You're a good poster here. People respect you. But you need to put all in one place. For all of us. For you.

Thanks and Joe Bless,

General Malaise

timschochet's thread about timschochet, god, religion and thread starting

Has a nice ring to it.

dude, you'll have a 300 page thread one day, just like the dude who started the 10K thread. Hell, he's not even around anymore. He gone. But that thread....that thread lives forever.

DO IT!

It won't work.

While having one's own thread would seem perfect for a narcissist like Timmy, it wouldn't allow him to feed his ego the way it likes to be fed.

There's a better chance that we'll see a new thread about the Timsochet - It's time, guy... thread than that this will actually happen, but thank you for trying once again.

Which will have more interesting insight and analysis -- Tim's new thread, or Righetti's Jeter hit count thread?

People also respect Sarah Palin

This suggestion would work if most or all of my threads were about me. But since that is very rarely the case, I don't think this plan will succeed.

Topic is irrelevant. You start threads every time you have a thought about whatever is going on. Instead of starting a brand new topic each time something remotely notable happens on Earth, you just post your would-be OP's in the same thread.Success. :)

It'd be easy to do, Tim... start a thread, then every time you have a new topic to discuss, just change the title and indicate the post number of the new thought in the subtitle. Done and done.... "Tim's Thread: How the bagel changed the world, discussion begins post 224", "Tim's Thread: Is it now "midafternoon in America"? or 'It's now early evening in America'? Debate starts in post 783", etc.

Post #2 will need to be reserved as a Table of Contents that can be freely edited and updated with new topics. This may put Mr. Ishida's Bookstore to shame.

I need to start using the word "dude" more often.

On a slightly unrelated note...

How do you pronounce Tim's name? I always pronounce it "Tims-o-shea" but I know it isn't right looking at the spelling.

Would have been so many variations we could have used if the last vowel was an i.

I think GM should do this. Then I might actually read his post.

This guy gets it.

I agree with him. I want to join your mammoth thread, but the thought of reading 4,000 pages to catch up is a buzzkill. But if I knew what the current topic was.....

But the topics are never the same for very long and usually there's 3-4 differing tangents at the same time. It's essentially a FFA version of chat. Tim could do the same thing, only for serious topics, which is something not often discussed in GM's Thread About Nothing.

I think if we could establish a new page break feature it might help.
