plasma my brohan from another cleveland mothran what is going to happen with cle and chi next game bromigo
I don't know which team will win Game 5.

But whichever team does will lose Game 6.

This thing seems destined to go the distance.

I love the rhythm of a seven-game NBA series.

It seems like when the teams are evenly matched, the team that loses a game comes out focused and desperate for the next game, while the team that won lets up just a little bit.

Home court doesn't seem to make a difference.

Makes for high drama and entertainment.

Yet another reason I prefer it to college ball.

hey jack i am just posting so you do not have four posts in a row without anyone talking to you take that to the bank bromigo

wiz showing a lot of heart. if they can somehow manage to get through Atlanta, kinda starting to get the feeling that wall might test the waters a bit.

I know you're trolling at this point but ### #### dude, no one said anything about college basketball. The season has been done for over a month.
Not trolling.

I was comparing the rhythm of a seven-game series to the one-and-done format of college ball.

So I said something about college basketball.

As Ricky Roma said to John Williamson in Glengarry Glen Ross, "What do YOU ####### care?"

Following up on the Phil Jackson 3 pointers thing, some dude did a blog post and tweeted it at him, concluding that Phil was spot on. The analytics really are impeccable. Some highlights:

"Numbers don't lie!"

Among the four factors he finds most important to whether or not GSW wins, he lists "# of points scored"

Pretty incredible. Of course of Phil retweeted it.

Memphis played sloppy. The refs put the fix in early and the Grizz couldn't overcome it mentally. Bad shot selection abd way too many TOs.

Kerr and staff deserve credit for forcing Allen out of the game by putting Bogut on him early and letting him be Tony Allen.

Suggested rule change.... a team can decline the free throws from an intentional foul (and take the ball out of bounds) until the last 2 minutes of each half. Any potential problems with this?
FIBA's old rule for the bonus was similar to this. On any non-shooting foul while in the bonus, the team that was fouled had the option to shoot the free throws or take the ball out of bounds with a fresh shot clock. They got rid of it partially to align more with American rules, but it also created endgame situations where teams would keep fouling and trying to steal the subsequent inbounds pass. That slowed the game down even more than free throws. The solution for Hack-A-Brick-FT-Shooter is to let the team that was fouled choose anyone on the court at the time of the foul to shoot the free throws. Teams would stop fouling Andre Jordan away from the ball if it meant JJ Redick got to shoot two free throws as a consequence.
The solution is to learn how to make your ####### FTs. A rule change is going to make DJ another $5M/year if it happens
The solution is allow the team that was fouled to choose to take the ball out with a reset shot clock or shoot free throws.Fouling someone is supposed to have consequences.

Just giving someone a personal foul is not enough.

Or maybe reduce the number of fouls required for being out of a game to 4.

Nah. Pop will just rotate more end of the bench guys in to foul.
Being inadequate is supposed to have consequences as well.

You gotta love it, Allen after animatedly proclaiming himself an all defense player earlier in the series is a self check offensive player.

On NBA TV Fratello was saying a possible adjustment for Memphis is have Allen be the screener.

I don't see what that does.

Allen's man just goes under the screen and packs the paint again like Bogut did leaving Allen in the same spot, he is open but you don't want Allen shooting 3's.

Allen either has to attack the basket or yeah play Lee instead so GS can't sag Bogut inside and leave Lee wide open for 3's.

Nice adjustment by Kerr.

I still hope Memphis wins.

right on shortstack the game requires a player to make free throws if they are fouled if you can not make them that is on you and should not be a reason to change the rules take that to the bank brohans get better not whinier

Memphis's offense last night was mind bogglingly bad. They've got 2 prime time offensive big men and they spent all game shooting jumpers. :loco:

Monty Williams out in New Orleans.

John Wall dribbling with both hands, swelling is "minimal," to be reevaluated tomorrow. OTOH he still has five fractures in his left hand and wrist, which seems like it would be a problem.

Lotta empty seats in Memphis last night.
I was just passing through Memphis in 2013 during the Griz/Thunder Semis. I was able to get row 201 for 109 bucks the day of the game with no effort at all. They have amazing fans and atmosphere, but wont sell out games. Just not enough people.

Setting up to go after Thibs?
A year or two ago, I was calling Thibs a top 3 coach in the NBA. The guy can totally "do more with less" but now that he has a top Roster in the NBA, he isn't looking as hot. I'm ok moving on as a Bulls fan.

I'd iike to keep him, but if management says its time to go, I can't argue...
He's a great defensive mind, but it's somewhat odd that he runs his players into the ground to the extent that he does. I think the Spurs title last year woke a lot of teams up to the benefits of managing minutes, but not Thibs.

It's a different story now... team has been on a slow but steady upswing in the market. Playoff games sell out easy with stiff premiums being charged in the secondary market. Sat was as hot a ticket as this city has had in a long time.

But yeah... this ain't Boston or LA.

What an incredbile weekend of post season NBA.

Lebrons shot was sick.....after being obviously fouled (not called) I felt good for him sinking that side fade away jumper.

It was majestic.
No ref is going to call a minor bump with three seconds left in a tie game when the guy is behind the backboard with no chance to score.
Besides, they had already gift wrapped the game for Lebron and co by swallowing their whistles at the other end of the court the entire game. Jimmy Buckets with no free throws the entire game while attacking the rim and taking 21 shots? 5 for everyone on the team outside of D Rose in a pretty physical game? They can only carry Cleveland so much...

Allen Iverson, American Hero

Allen Iverson denies a claim made by a former teammate that he occasionally spent $40,000 at a strip club when he was a 76er. “First of all it was like $9,000 at most and there were never any strippers at the TGI Friday’s on City Line,” says Iverson. “Unless I brought them. Sometimes I brought a bunch. And I supposed in those cases, yes, the bill could get up to 40K because they didn’t have the Endless Appetizers thing back then.”

At least you're not thinking about dudes making out with dudes anymore. Still some hope for you.

I understand you can't call half the fouls Noah commits because he'd foul out in the first half every game, but when he drags his pivot foot a few feet across the floor that's something to call.

Later, Gibson.

edit: eh, not a flagrant 2 as I originally thought. Not a nice thing to do though.
