I really want to see a Warriors vs Spurs conference final.
Assuming the Spurs beat the Clippers, you will likely get your wish.

Leonard is Harden's kryptonite.
Rockets will beat spurs. Sorry bud.
yea the rockets looked great last night.
How do they look now? Like I said, they would have beat spurs.
We could never prove it either way, but I doubt the Spurs would have folded like this.

Least surprising Clippers outcome this season. They're a damn good team but until they quit #####ing about, well, everything, they just won't win it all. They need to tighten up mentally or this will play out year after year.

One of the top choke jobs of the 21st century? I think so. They were up 3 games to 1, and in game 6 they had a 19 point lead at home late in the 3rd. It's up there with the 86 Red Sox, Greg Norman.

idk but that is easily one of the best posts of the 21st century imo. Just amazing.

This is the workse day of mylife.!! I wish iwas never born!!!
You knew you were going to catch hell for the hater comments after each Clipper win, but seriously worst day of your life? Just being a Clipper fan means this doesn't crack the top 10.

Had the Clippers advanced, we would have had three teams in the semis that had never won an NBA title. Warriors are fun to watch, hoping they win it.

Clippers bench is just awful.
:goodposting:

Bench +/- today: Crawford -22, Rivers -17, Davis -10 (in 5 minutes), Hawes -3.
Can the Clippers even afford some better bench guys? I have no idea how their cap looks or who they have to resign.
2nd highest payroll in the league this year and Jordan is a free agent.

I'm sure Ballmer will be fine with paying the luxury tax to keep Jordan, but they're not in great position to add help.

So they really just blew their best chance?

It's not all about the money. Three major contributors to the Rockets win today were added mid season. Some GM's are just better than others, Doc isn't one of those good GM's.

Is this a different Hawks franchise than the one from 58 or whenever?

P and s maybe we'll get the Cavs-Warriors series that should have happened in 76 if not for Jim Chones getting hurt and Rick Barry quitting on his team.

Not only that, but they beat the defending champs in the prior series and they had destroyed the Rockets in back-to-back games to get up 3-1. And the game 6 comeback was without Harden. An epic choke. The Clippers are a fun team to watch - I'm disappointed.

I am not a Chris Paul fan, but pinning this defeat on just him is really dumb. This has to fall on the coaching staff, too. They say a team is often a reflection of its coach, and given that the Clippers are a bunch of whiny complainers, one need only look at Doc Rivers to see where they get that from.

Bill Simmons has talked about this on a few occasions. Barry got into a fight during a game and not one single teammate came to his side. They just stood there with their hands on their hips.

Him not shooting may have been justified but that's still what cost them the game. Maybe if he wasn't a giant D they might have helped him.

Rockets have to be the worst team in the Western Finals in what.. a decade?
I think you can make a case for a few teams

2010 - Suns

2009 - Nuggets

2007 - Jazz
Are we sure the Rockets aren't actually really good?
In terms of conference finals teams I don't think they're really good. I don't think they're really bad either. I don't think they'll pose too much of a problem for the Warriors either way. I don't think anybody else left will either.

I don't think they are, but I could be wrong. If they go at least 6 with the Warriors I will give them some credit. Right now it feels fake. They beat a very old Dallas team, that had their point guard go rogue on them and lost probably their most important player in Parsons, then they beat a Clipper team that has proven over the years to be mentally soft and it really looks like the Clippers lost that series. If the Rockets won a hard fought battle in game 6 against the Clippers and then took it home for game 7 and took care of business it would be one thing, but the Clippers gave away game 6, they were up 19 points at home.

The thing about the Rockets is that Brewer and Ariza are long defenders who can play against most positions. Both are effective outside shooters as well. That makes this team better than people think, IMO.

I don't see the rockets getting more than 1 win. On the flip side, I am excited about lebron going in to "I only loaned you my MVP trophy, grasshopper" mode in the finals.

They still won 59 games in the Western conference, which is pretty great right now.
56
I stand corrected, but my point still stands: you don't win that many games in the West without being really good.
Sorry that came off as kind of no know it all. I think the Rockets get a bad rep because the we're 11 - 16 against the west playoff teams and 23 - 21 overall against playoff teams. So that means against the rest of the league they were 33 - 5.

Now imagine replacing Barry with Curry and you would have all of Oracle Arena after his assailant.

GS has had Houston's number in the regular season, I'm sure that pumps the number up some. And having Speights out maybe a game <<<<< Donuts/Beverly being out. Things have broken well so far for GS, that's for sure.

That Clips chokejob doesn't happen if Doc hadn't been such a complete disaster over the last two years. I'm a GS fan and this year's been great and I'm trying not to be like those new-money #######s like all of the Seahawks fans, but: #### the Clippers. #### their old owner, #### their new owner, #### their ticket-takers, #### their ####ty fans, #### Billy Crystal, #### Doc Rivers, #### Austin Rivers, #### Ms. Rivers, double-#### Matt Barnes, #### Chris Paul, and #### Blake Griffin.

Kinda wish GS had gotten to be the ones to do them in, but also just happy that they got done in.

Yeah I guess they actually won in St Louis in 1958. NBA history prior to 1980 sans the Celtics and Lakers is so unlike the other sports, I really like to think the history of the sport really started in the 70s.

Whatever, Hawks and Warriors have titles but they are from sooooooooo long ago and the Cavs have zero (although the LeBron angle plays heavy here so I actually think of them as the team with the most recent). Rockets were pretty great in the 90s and really have been one of the better franchises since the 80s, but they haven't done a lot lately. Warriors were so sweet in the late 80s with the Run TMC, but they died to me when they traded Mitch Richmond for Billy Owens.

I'll watch the finals this year though, unlike in the recent past where I can't say the plot was interesting.

Cavs in 6

Warriors in 5

I think it's time for another drink GPJ.
