It's interesting but watching lebron actually weakens bosh's hall of fame credentials. He has two rings, but Tristan thompans is serving the same role next to lebron and he's not going to the hall.

As a note, I'm a big bosh fan

 
aberohan you are my guy but no way tt is like a rodman and bosch has a good shot even a nice three and has a good post up game he is a scorer and not just a rebound and d machine and is not rodmany take that to the bank bromigo

 
I feel like SWC has some good points in there, but I just can't get passed the Studs like spelling and the continuous run on sentences, so I skip over 90% of his posts. I could see how the shtick was funny a year ago, but it has run it's course.

Not that I think Bosh should make the HOF, cause I don't think he should, but wasn't he like a 6-7 time all star in Toronto?

Thompson was JAG quite recently.

 
I'm in favor of the college closely-guarded 5-second rule. Cavs are probably playing optimally considering personnel limitations, but Barkley Ball (~15 seconds of back-to-basket dribbling per trip) isn't the most aesthetically pleasing product.

This just isn't true. Not even close to true. There's not anywhere near 15 seconds of back to the basket iso-dribbling.

They bring the ball across at about 17 because they're slowing the game down.

Some kind of entry action, picks, etc - another 2-8 seconds depending on the possession.

15-9 seconds left on the shot clock.

Let's say it only took 3 seconds to enter to LeBron around 20 feet out, where they've been getting it to him. That means we have 14 seconds, which is a pretty quick entry based on their play. He holds the ball for at least 2, up to 5 or 6 seconds at time. College rule gives him 4 to be safe.

Then he starts to dribble and back the guy down, or he's facing up and blowing by. If he blows by, it's not five seconds before he shoots or passes. If he backs down...there's already a 5 second rule for that in the NBA.

No rule change would do anything. Especially since a lot of the other time is spent up top, with LeBron running and re-running his man over a few picks to try and get a matchup he likes for someone.

In any case the 5-second rule would change absolutely nothing.

10-time all-star (5 in Toronto, 5 in Miami) with two rings. His HOF probability on basketball-reference is 98.6%. He's pretty close to a lock.

Not real sure the number of all star appearances matters much anyway.

I was exaggerating the time and considered the "~" to be a sarcastic extension of such. And to be honest, I was more intent on making a derogatory comment about Labron than anything else. I'm a Warriors' mark and am waiting to laugh in everyone's faces when variance flips and the shots fall.

In his postgame interview with Wade after Game 3, LeBron went out of his way to mention he finished third in MVP voting behind Curry and Harden.

Also possible it's proving to Pat Riley he could win a title away from Miami. Riley hasn't been cordial about LeBron's departure; not full middle school ##### Dan Gilbert was after The Decision, but Riley has been a ##### about it.

 
It's "secret" because there is no way we could figure it out.

Pissed he finished behind Curry in the MVP voting isn't exactly a secret.

This was interesting but not surprising in game 3

On pick and rolls-

w/ David Lee 20 pts on 13 poss (1.54 ppp)

w/ another screener 25 pts on 40 poss (.63 ppp)

I think he's a lock to get in. Don't think he should though.

 
I don't really blame guys for following LeBron around. He's a great teammate and almost guarantees a good playoff run every year. Very few players in league history you can say that about.

Good writeup. He's been terrible for both easily explainable reasons (matchup against the Mozgov-Thompson lineup limits his role) and totally baffling reasons (complete loss of confidence from a guy usually overflows with it).

I posted the still of the three he passed up in that possession yesterday. Here it is. Unbelievable to not take that shot down 4 at the 2 minute mark. You're being handed a greater than 40% chance to make it a one point game and you decline. I hadn't considered the fact that his lack of confidence also is probably the reason Curry's behind the back pass later in the possession went out of bounds- its likely that he basically just chickened out of the pick and pop three. Great call by that writer. Also great insight into why the David Lee solution is probably fool's gold.

Can't wait to see how Green responds tonight. I think his play over the next 2-4 games may be what decides the series.

A win is needed tonight or Sunday, so it ends in 6 in Cleveland. A lot will have to go right for Cleveland, and wrong for Golden State, for the Cavs to take this in 7.

The more I think about it the more I like David Lee playing....if Green and Bogut continue to play like crap. Again, Green and Bogut playing at their usual level are worlds better than David Lee but you have to have options.

Lee is the best offensive big man the Dubs have. He is also the worst on defense. However, the Warriors have been losing grind it out games already...so why not just try to outscore the Cavs? If the Warriors offense is humming, I don't think Cavs ISO ball has enough weapons to keep up.

It's a scary thought of having David Lee trying to stop LeBron from scoring 60 points, but I might be tempted to try it just as long as it gets the pace going in the Dubs favor.

My heart wants this win for Cleveland badly.

I think the Cav's have to win tonight to win the series.

If GS trails after the 1st quarter again, like they have all series they may get that here we go again mentality that will help the Cavs.

The Lee thing is an interesting wrinkle. The article thought it wouldn't work as more than an occasional changeup. OTOH the Cavs are a good matchup for him b/c they can hide his terrible defense by putting him on Thompson, who doesn't do much offensively until the ball hits the rim. Then there's also the fact that he's not in game shape- I assume that's why they pulled him in the 4th quarter?

The Finals are the best. So many twist and turns and strategy decisions we don't see in the regular season, with just enough time between games to discuss and dissect them.

I think Lee is more Fool's gold than anything, but the guys one Lowe's podcast had an interesting point. By having Lee out there, you're basically daring Cleveland to run a pick and roll with LeBron and Lee's man. Yes, it increases Cleveland's likelihood to score, but it also increases the pace of the game (ie the other 4 CLE guys don't get 10 seconds of rest) and may open up some longer rebounds for GS transition offense.

I think over time, he's a net negative on the floor, but putting him out there is a dare to CLE to change up what they have been doing.

You are at least the second and maybe the third person to say that in this thread.

While it will certainly HELP to got up 3-1, 2-2 would hardly be an insurmountable "lead". Even with GS having home court.

The Cavs game seems to have been the same so far regardless of the building. I guess Curry might shoot better at home, but for a single game, there's too much variance there to count on it.

If that's all they could find then this is a non-issue, and a couple of those weren't even illegal. Bogut's look the worst because he hunches over and leans in on guys and a couple of those should have been called. But as Bob Loblaw points out above, LeBron has dished out a lot of forearms on backdowns.

I think the refs don't want to take players out of the game and make it a FT contest for the little bumps and pushes....especially away from the ball.

GS could also be up 3-0. All three games have come down to the final few possessions. Admittedly CLE has played better through three quarters each game.
