Maybe just keep trading for progressively cheaper dudes on expiring contracts?oof. he has more been anything but terrible for like 2.5 years.Warriors are apparently keeping Wallace.![]()
Good trade by Danny, Celtics looking at the #3 or #4 seed next season.Lee to Celtics for Gerald Wallace.
Were there any better options?Bulls re-sign Aaron Brooks. For better or worse, they now have the same top 10 players as last year.
They were 22-30 in mid February when Bosh went down but they were tied for the seventh seed. #EndConferencesDefinitely do not stop piling on todem, but to be fair, weren't the heat definitely going to make the playoffs before bosh went down?

Not a lock at all, especially with the way Boston and Brooklyn finished strong.Definitely do not stop piling on todem, but to be fair, weren't the heat definitely going to make the playoffs before bosh went down?
It's not realistic because there's no incentive for franchises in the weaker conference to support that kind of change.Ending conferences is not realistic. They were 22-30 in mid February when Bosh went down but they were tied for the seventh seed. #EndConferencesDefinitely do not stop piling on todem, but to be fair, weren't the heat definitely going to make the playoffs before bosh went down?
Even with the advent of luxury travel, potentially having teams criss-crossing the country multiple times for three straight series is not a great idea.

They would have made the playoffs and probably took the Cavs in 7 in the 1st round. 2016 Heat will probably win 55+games with the second best shooting guard and Heat legend D. Wade playing 70+ games and winning the mvp. Plus baby LeBron will be guarding 4 players at once, while Whiteside locks down the other player and grabs every rebound since baby Bron can't block every shot, but just so we don't get carried away the Heat lose to Kobe and the Lakers in the finals. Kobe shots 55 percent for the playoffs, while averaging 45 minutes a game with 11 assists per game, and only 1 turnover.Jack White said:Not a lock at all, especially with the way Boston and Brooklyn finished strong.Long Ball Larry said:Definitely do not stop piling on todem, but to be fair, weren't the heat definitely going to make the playoffs before bosh went down?

The winning Lee/Olynyk/Zeller nickname is... Tres Leches. Runners-up: Vanilla Sky, White Walkers, The Vanilla Triangle, Boston Cream Pie.
It is summer league but damn if it's not exciting. Sixers will be improved this year with just Noel and Okafor down low.i watched a little bit of highlights of okafor in summer league he looks pretty good scoring on nice turn around js and making good cuts through the lane taking pases and making a jam i think the lakers are probably going to regret that one brohans take that to the bank

Reminds me of the 80's when the East had strong teams in Boston, Philly, Milwaukee, Atlanta, New York, Detriot... and the Lakers had a free pass to the WCF and all the fans of West teams were like OMG END the conferences this is so unfair oh wait..thecatch said:They were 22-30 in mid February when Bosh went down but they were tied for the seventh seed. #EndConferencesLong Ball Larry said:Definitely do not stop piling on todem, but to be fair, weren't the heat definitely going to make the playoffs before bosh went down?
I count about four teams in each conference I'd feel pretty safe eliminating from next year's playoff race right now. Maybe I'd be wrong about one of them but I'd put their chances at less than 10% or so. Philly, NY, Detroit, Charlotte, Sacramento, Lakers, Minnesota, DenverThe East was so bad last year that you can make a legitimate argument that pretty much any eastern conference team is a playoff contender except the 76ers.
I'd give NY and Det better chance than that.. up around 30% maybe. I wouldn't feel any differently if the West was the weak conference (my team isn't a threat to anyone anywhere), and the cyclical nature of this type of dominance just shows that the East's opposition to this kind of reform is shortsighted (though we are in the middle of a verrrry long cycle). Fans of the sport in general deserve better than the East bracket in the playoffs.Reminds me of the 80's when the East had strong teams in Boston, Philly, Milwaukee, Atlanta, New York, Detriot... and the Lakers had a free pass to the WCF and all the fans of West teams were like OMG END the conferences this is so unfair oh wait..thecatch said:They were 22-30 in mid February when Bosh went down but they were tied for the seventh seed. #EndConferencesLong Ball Larry said:Definitely do not stop piling on todem, but to be fair, weren't the heat definitely going to make the playoffs before bosh went down?
The number is exciting, watchable first round playoff matchups would be basically the same. You'd lose the usually watchable 2 vs 7 and 3 vs 6 matchups in the West and replace them with blowout 2 v 15 and 3 v 14 series.I wouldn't feel any differently if the West was the weak conference (my team isn't a threat to anyone anywhere), and the cyclical nature of this type of dominance just shows that the East's opposition to this kind of reform is shortsighted (though we are in the middle of a verrrry long cycle). I'm sure the 1-16, 2-15, 3-14 and 4-13 matchups in the first round would be way better than watching the first round of the East bracket.I wouldn't feel any differently if the West was the weak conference (my team isn't a threat to anyone anywhere), and the cyclical nature of this type of dominance just shows that the East's opposition to this kind of reform is shortsighted (though we are in the middle of a verrrry long cycle). I give Detroit a good chance at getting the 7th or 8th seed. I believe they were right around .500 once Smith was cut.I'd give NY and Det better chance than that.. up around 30% maybe. The fact that a matchup between two superior teams in a conference-less system might be as imbalanced as a matchup involving inferior teams in a weak conference isn't a compelling argument, in my view. You do make a good point about the tip off times and there isn't an easy way around that. The number is exciting, watchable first round playoff matchups would be basically the same. This sort of imbalance is common across all sports throughout the years. It has lasted longer in the NBA because there's less parity and because the Spurs have knocked everything out of whack (seriously, just move them to the East and the Bucks to the West and it basically evens out), but it'll come back around, maybe as soon as the 2016-17 season after a huge free agency summer.
My favorite part is Chris Paul wearing a CP3 shirt.

Russel has more superstar potential, IMO. It's all for the best. Next year you'll grab the PF you need in the mid/late lottery and be poised to take over the West in 2016-2017.How dare you...I count about four teams in each conference I'd feel pretty safe eliminating from next year's playoff race right now. Everyone knows Okafor can be a dominant scorer in the post, especially against non-NBA level competition. That's why he's a top 3 pick. But I doubt we'll see anything out of summer league that will give us any indication that he can overcome his sizable deficiencies (poor help defense, limited range, and awful FT shooting) at the NBA level and justify being taken over the D'Angelo Russel we saw at Ohio State.Russel has more superstar potential, IMO.
