Joel Embiid (foot) re-broke the navicular bone in his right foot, sources told the Philadelphia Inquirer.

Bad news is getting worse for Philadelphia. The Sixers issued a statement indicating Embiid hadn't healed as the team had hoped, but there was no indication that the big man had re-broken the bone againuntil now. Embiid is facing another lost season and an uphill battle to prove he can getand stayon the floor.
He was already lost for this season, right? Maybe the break was the reason for the pain? Or is this brand new, not just previously undiscovered?
Basically he's too long and his circulation sucks, so he doesn't heal fully/as well as others. It sounds like its likely to just keep breaking/not healing properly.
From a former student now in med school,"The Navicular is the last bone in the foot to form. If a person has poor circulation, its the bone in the foot most likely not to form correctly, vulnerable to breaks. Lack of blood to it reduces the chances of it healing properly. Embiid probably has a circulation disorder, and his navicular either never took the right shape as a kid or stopped getting enough blood after a late growth spurt, making it brittle. The issue fixing it isn't only getting the bone fixed, but getting the blood flow back into it too. I'm licensed to practice medicine in zero states and zero countries, but I doubt that foot ever heals well enough to play pro basketball on it."
Isn't that what I said? ;)
Yes, but are you licensed to practice medicine in zero states and zero countries?

Good point. Wait, I am!

Good point. Wait, I am!
You sure...that's a pretty high bar to clear.

I think it is a good trade for both teams. Lawson definitely has the talent to be a difference maker for the Rockets but he overstayed his welcome in Denver. A late first rounder is worth the gamble that he gets his #### together.

Abe/Rockets fans, is the Greek dude worth a crap? He seems like a homeless man's version of Gallinari.
Because they're both foreign?

White and foreign... I'm not about to confuse him with Mouhamed Sene.

I think we should probably just PM Shuke our best thread titles and he can decide.

I don't see any other way really.

Lawson makes his 2nd year salary non guaranteed. So if it doesn't work out he can be a salary dump Before the draft.

Only potential issue with giving SWC control of the title is that I could see him making it nonsensical enough so that I'm unable to find the thread.

Has anyone ever looked at which college team produced the most players in the NBA that were useful? It wouldn't be first, but that Carolina championship team had Lawson, hansbrougg, Danny green, Ed Davis, Wayne Ellington, Tyler zeller... Would be interesting to see what team produced the most NBA minutes.

My thread runner resume:

- I've been here a long time

- I hate the lakers

- I like to make fun of gunZ and Tim

- I don't care about the NBA enough to get offended

- I'm funny

I am torn on the Lawson situation. .Denver way over played their hands during the draft and obviously wanted too much for him in a trade. So i guess they should be happy they got anything in return. Now, Denver has some cap relief to re-sign Gallo and they have a bunch of pieces that I am not sure form a full puzzle. So they are going to suck again this year, I guess if there is any bright star in the sky, they also have the option to flip draft slots with NY next draft, so who knows what that will bring. However, Denver will probably end up with a worse record. The sad part is I still can't see this team being a FA destination for big stars once the cap jumps.

I am just worried Mudiay is going to turn out to be a star. Spend his first three years toiling away on this team as it rebuilds to only walk away. The only thing I am certain of is Kroenke needs to sell this team.

yeah but he hates the lakers and probably kobme so i will allow it take that to the bank
 That doesn't really set him apart around these parts.
well it does add an element of awesomeness to him and hating the lakers is one of the steps on the path of the brohan so he has that going for him which is nice bromigo

I'm lazy and forget half the #### I typed 20 mins ago. Also I only come here when something sixers related shows up. So I'm clearly the guy.

What? Kroenke did Nugget fans a huge favor. I mean it just sucked going to the playoffs for 10 plus years in a row. This is so much better now, can't believe you dont you see that.

Sorry to lose smith but our offer was only 500k more than clippers. They are really in a good spot to contend this year. Much deeper.
They've got train wreck written all over them.
(Genuine question) How so?
Forgot to respond, sorry.

Just think they have a terrible mix of personalties and crazy.

CP3 and Griffin/Jordan don't get along.

Smith is a moron.

Lance is a crazy idiot.

Too much drama on one team. If you wanted to create a team of idiots, that is pretty much it, just toss in JR Smith.

I think having the coach's son getting way more run than he deserves adds a bit of intrigue as well.

The good news is that the Nuggets have five years of control, at a minimum, and I'm not aware of a player who has turned down a max contract after year four, so they'll have him for at least seven years if he turns out to be a stud.

And Pierce flipping out because of the crazy that surrounds him. Lots of great subplots on that team. They'll pull the most headlines for the wrong reasons this year IMO.

Capella is funny.

i don't know why anyone would debate this.

Cliff the thread sub title inspiration will flow again when the regular season starts up.

You just need the knuckleheads of the NBA to what they do best, and that usually happens when the season starts.

Or you could just bash the bejeezus out of the Lakers until the season starts.

Which, would be fun for the majority of us anyway.

I guess he missed Shaq and Pippen yesterday

Pros:

- I've been here a long time

- I haven't rooted for the Lakers since Magic Johnson's first retirement

- I like to make fun of TobiasFunke and Instinctive

- I've had so much shade thrown upon me, it's tough to get me rattled

Cons:

- I'm not that funny

- it's difficult for me to get a point across in as few characters as the thread title box limits

- I'm in the 2010s-Tim Duncan era of my career, so I'll put it in cruise control for the regular season, saving it for the playoffs; the thread-runner needs to go hard for 82 games
