Titans 2018 (1 Viewer)

It is shocking to me that Taywan Taylor has not been involved more after showing the ability to make some big plays earlier in the season (maybe this has been discussed already). I guess dynasty believers can only pray for a new staff next year.

Yep been feeling that all year

I saw that Jeff wants to be a head coach next year. He's coming back.
He has ties to Browns owner and some relationship with Peyton which I don't understand how that ties the Browns in too but it does :-)

I think he might be good for them like Coughlin is to the Jags.

I think coaching has passed him by, but he could definitely advise. I agree with many principles he has like his commitment to hustle, hard work, accountability, and the importance of line play.  If a team had a real strong scouting and personnel dept, Fish might make an interesting GM. As long as he's fed quality info, he might be interesting assembling the pieces for a change. I have long said it was unfair how they turned over players in TEN under him. He really has a wealth of experience

Demontre Hurst has been signed to replace Leshaun Sims going to IR.

He couldn't make the team this summer, has played for the Bears.

Tye Smith, not Reed, now is the presumed starter opposite Adoree. He's been good when he plays and then curiously sits long long stretches or is inactive. Has an INT and Byard seems to be the only other with an INT. McCain will be in the slot like last year.

Now that we're super far down the depth chart, these are some of the guys that switched between S and CB every other play in preseason. I wonder if they'll try that. I'd like to see Byard on a WR and a QB hesitating like "is that a good matchup?" The secondary is bleak, anything that can force the QB to think too much is good at this point

Titans schedule now ranked 32nd or easiest in the NFL.

I sure didn't feel that way. I thought an easy four game stretch sure, but Oakland, Seattle...the beginning was plenty difficult

Fascinating how people consider the Rams a very good team. They stunk a year ago. When we played the Hawks they were very good, elite but now they stink. Very odd how things turn so quickly

IMO The Titans are very likely to play the Jags two weeks in a row.

With the division sewn up, the Jags ought to rest their starters next week

Fluellen out wide on that last play...really? That's gonna sit with me like the Adoree route that he never practiced.

If they don't have confidence in Hurst, Reed, Riley etc then they need to do ANYTHING other than have the worst safety in coverage, covering. They should activate Denzel for every play where Byard is just an outfielder. He can do that just fine, maybe better, he's quite fast. Byard can cover the WR on those. He did real well against TEs and a bit against WRs last year. He can cover. When Byard needs to be the man at safety, Cyp on a WR is not the solution.

Hurst should be fine for some. He was solid at OU and he started for the Bears. Riley's got some muscle to him can he press. Reed switched from CB to S, he can't play CB well anymore? They should have a bandaid here. If McCain stinks then why has he been there? This is totally on JRob. Ryan and Adoree covering two WRs, they should be able to handle a third with a backup.

I don't know anything on Murray. He did put weight on it and grimaced but he did.

I don't see another option than seeing if Antonio Andrews is in shape. They need a RB to play ST like Fluellen and could use someone to replace Fowler for a few plays. I'll message him. I usually hear back

Muhammad was awful in camp and he's no FB or special teams beast. Next best runner in camp is active for the Jets, last I looked.

Darius Jennings has played RB in practice but he's like a WR thin frame n all. Just multi-faceted.

Well after seeing things yesterday first hand I am concerned about the franchise’s future in Tennessee. Playoffs on the line and there are about 20k empty seats.

Heard they were selling some for $9.

Guys were literally giving them away on the way there. I took one just in case I wanted to move to the upper level but I never went up there.

My brother told me he’s trying to sell his PSLs cheap and no takers.

Lot of people mad about the protests.

Lot of people mad about Mularkey and Robiskie.

If they demand a new stadium that’ll be it.

there are always empty seats around Christmas

This is an issue they've discussed but it's also league wide so I wouldn't get too dramatic

It's the Bible belt on Christmas Eve. Many fans were in church.

I do agree they won't be getting a new stadium any time soon. But they aren't moving any time soon either.

I might change my mind if next week's game isn't packed. Win and in, at home against a rival should be fun.

I don't see that the Jags have anything to play for. They seem locked into a 3 seed to me.

If I lived in TEN, I would be calling Jax and asking about playoff ticket prices before spending $ on a game where they don't play all the starters.

Murray day to day because he's tough....I applaud the thinking here n all, but a knee needs rest. "If he plays, it will be in a limited role" is not rest.

Fowler and Murray are the best Mariota protectors and maybe they don't want him at risk against Sacksonville but this just seems like trouble. Klug pushed himself and played a late game where his injured achilles became a torn achilles and Mularkey promised to do a better job of resting the tough determined ones. Here we are a year later and he's not if he plays Murray.

Henry should be fine at pass blocking by now. They've always said he was fine and he looks fine. Jonnu has played plenty of FB or up-back whatever ya call it. Flu didn't make the darn team because his pass blocking had to improve and they complimented him this summer. I feel like it's just Mularkey not having that faith in backups.

He was wrong on Klug. He didn't have to play "or else." Antwaun played the next week and had a very good game. Sylvester Croom has coached so long he used to be Barry's coach. Gotta trust he's got his backups ready

Next year.

Home:
> New York Jets
> New England Patriots
> Philadelphia Eagles

> Indianapolis Colts

Away:
> Buffalo Bills
> Miami Dolphins
> Dallas Cowboys
> New York Giants
> Los Angeles Chargers

Corey Davis had his best stat line yet. Just curious on how he looked...Is he playing faster and looking a little more dynamic?
He looked a lot better to me but he looked pretty awful a few games ago. He has made a lot of progress. That said he still looks like he’s on a different page at times. He’s a dude who really needs a full offseason and a more dynamic offense.

Depends if you can only go to one game and can travel. Personally I'd be more likely to attend next week than travel to Jacksonville. But that's more a time issue than anything to really do with the team.

How do you have the home/away designations?

Well true. But church happens on Sunday every week too as do most games. Hoping it’s going to be packed this week and a better atmosphere. Doubt Jags fans travel much compared to some of these teams that pack half the stadium.

Read that the Jags will play to win on Sunday. Not sure I believe that. Will be much tougher for the Titans if they do.
Of course it will be tougher if they play to win.

While that's the way I'd like it if I were a jags fan, or vice versa as a Titans fan. But let's play the "would you rather" game.

Would the jags rather play the chargers, Titans or bills in the wc round? Of the three I think the chargers are the most dangerous. So in a way the jags would probably be better off losing to Tennessee but as a fan of the game I like it when teams play to win regardless.

As a Titans fan I want them to win. But do prefer if they beat the jagsn while the jags are actually trying to win.

Reading that Murray has a torn MCL but is trying to play through it.

The way things have gone so far this year Murray has played a lot, good or not. Seems like an MCL should shut him down right?

Gameday decision.

Grade three tear which is basically that the muscle is hanging on by a thread and would be a big mistake to play him. Sounds like Klug II to me

Is it a smart coaching decision to keep playing him?

He hasn't been very efficient since week five aside from the game against the Texans.

High is only supposed to be 28 on Sunday with possible snow. That’s going to suck to sit in. Night game too. Might be tougher on the jags though.

Klug tore his achilles. Looks like DeMarco will tear his MCL on Sunday. I gotta believe Mularkey learned from last year, as he said he did, and DeMarco won't play

Decker tweaked his hammy. Normally not an issue but the cold might make it an issue with muscles tightening. Treatment tomorrow and sunday morning should be fine.

Flu to play Henry's role, Henry to play Murray's BUT won't say that Murray is out. Croom confident in Fluellen picking up the blitz, said Flu may actually be better in play action than Henry which I don't understand but whatever...

Davis to not have bigger role but same big role this week.

OL put in an extra good week of practice

Matthews is fine. Ryan is questionable- ankle.

Muhammad bumped up but not likely to play. Hurst waived. Spoke of the experience of being active which is why I say not likely to play. Another move is "definitely possible" which idk what that is.

Mularkey has complimented Avery often this week and last on radio and pressers. I bet they make him an offer (whenever, no rush) and don't let him leave in free agency.

DeDe Westbrook went to OU and I loved the guy on the field. I don't remember criminally bad stuff but a few "what the" issues off the field. IIRC he led the NCAA in catches and that's playing for a top team. I could not believe he fell to the fourth round. For a good minute or two, I was sure the Titans drafted "my guy" when it was announced they traded up for a WR.Robinson traded up for Taylor and said he was bored. He gave up a fourth to do so and many didn't think it was even necessary to trade up for a WKY WR. I will forever think it's possible the Titans could have got DeDe. Could have reasonably traded up in the fourth if necessary even.

IMO he's a first round talent so sure they had enough WRs after Taylor but like in FF, ya just don't pass up a top talent falling a few rounds in a draft. You draft him and let things work out as they will.

The Titans loved Ramsey especially Mularkey and Lebeau. That they didn't draft him bugged me some. The presentation of it all, seeing video of them walking the hall at Titans facility smiley and praising him after the visit and...I don't like the smoke N mirrors if JRob was putting on a show.

Myles Jack should have been traded for by 32 teams, including the Titans. No doubt a top talent and some injury was watching him fall all the way to the second. To me, the DeDe and Jack situations are draft trading 101. That the Titans had 3 seconds and didn't trade up bugged me. The TItans drafting Jack's replacement in college was good but we'd have quite the fast mobile LB corps with Jack too.

Ramsey looks like a future HOFer to me. Shutting WRs down since about day one. He's something.

DeDe made an outstanding catch last game. He turned 180 degrees and found the ball midair. Watch for it in pregame highlights, it's wow. We've never had that....never. I would love to have some WR that has people say "ya can't coach that" about his athletic prowess. With all the drops I've watched, I'd swear I'm "owed" a WR making a phenomenal catch and/or one handed grab.

The Jags will say DeDe has to run better routes but if ya watch he catches or almost catches everything. Bortles has been improving but Mariota should be way better. I'd say Walker and Matthews give 110 percent and will either catch everything or try to. I want the Jaguars problem with rookie WRs, that's normal. How come every Titans WR has concentration issues, route running, and blocking issues? Why don't we say Davis catches everything? #5 pick, why not? What's DeDe played? 4 games? 5? watch him and tell me that's not normal development for WRs in the NFL. The other guy, Cole, is weird how he slides down like a QB after catching it, but that nobody makes a lot of catches for not being very special.

Once every year, the Titans tip a ball and it gets intercepted. I swear they overcoach NOT doing this as if it's common. I really think there'd be a better effort and it has to do with that.

Mularkey's staff could have been Bratkowski at OC and Robiskie at WR coach. This would have had each doing what they do best and what they did in the NFL for a couple decades. He flip flopped those two (assigning hiring for opposite jobs) and I think that's quietly been a big problem. We'd have a 3 WR proponent debating with the two TE guy on plays and a guy that developed Julio coaching Hunter, DGB, and Davis.

Titans needed a DE and didn't do anything but promote Jones and move Johnson's position. The Jags created Sacksonville.

I don't like both teams having the same needs so often, but I'll tell ya I often like the Jags moves better than the Titans. I think JRob tries a bit hard to be shrewd or clever

Definitely agree with this. I feel like he thinks he's going to bring in some fringe special teamers and turn the Titans into the Patriots. Wasn't a fan of the offseason. The draft was loaded on defense and Titans went offense early and often.  I know JRob has a lot of believers but I'm not one yet.

I hope the Jags run them of the field tomorrow and Mularkey and Robiskie are fired on Monday.

Could very well be the start of the Henry era today.

Titans are 7-0 when he rushes for 90 but I imagine any team would be when their backup does that.

I'm so of two minds on this.

I want to make the playoffs. Fact is they'll probably get beat badly in the WC if they do, but it's still good to go to the dance.

Otoh, if we knew Mularkey would be gone if they lose today. I think I'd be good with that result. I'm speculating here but it seems Robinson would try to bring in McDaniels. He'd probably help the offense but I'm not sure he's a better head coach.

Despite his shortcomings, Mularkey seems to be a really good guy who I want to see succeed. But the lack of progress this year hurts.

Robiskie has to go regardless.

Still think Schwartz is the fave. I don't think Jrob and McDaniels were together much in NE. JRob was a traveling scout and when he was promoted I think McD was in Denver.

Before the Eagles, Schwartz worked out of the Titans offices for the NFL. I's my understanding that he and JRob are family friends and that he helped Amy communicate owner issues to NFL when she had probs
