Titans 2018 (1 Viewer)

Jags are going to sit starters early, try to make it as physical a game as possible with backups and look forward to avoiding the Chargers in the playoffs by letting Tennessee win to set up a rematch next week. As the game with the least national interest, look for it to be in the early slot next Saturday

Oh my word

did anyone else see Charles Woodson predicting the game?

He went through this long spiel and at the end says he’s predicting the Ravens. ????

Murray out.

I'm sure that means more TE use and less RB use because Mularkey

ETA: Or WR as TE use

From NFL.com final QB rankings:

19

Marcus Mariota

QB

Titans

2016: 14

On the biggest snaps of the year, Mariota pushed the Titans into the playoffs by using his legs. Tight end Delanie Walker said that "sometimes you've got to overcome coaching" just weeks after receiver Rishard Matthews implored the staff to let Mariota call his own plays in the hurry-up offense. Mariota shares some blame for not seeing the field clearly this season, but this is one coach-QB marriage that needs a divorce. #FreeMarcus

It's really interesting how much Henry seems to miss Fowler.

He could have actually been the third (occasional, 2 carries) RB too

Everyone said it was a bad move. The way I understand it is the player cuts are by Mularkey and come across JRob's desk before going to the NFL. They ARE up to Mularkey. I wonder if there was significant discussion, what it was, and if it will bite him

Robiskie has been saying that this is Mularkey's play, Mularkey's offense, Mularkey's call THEN "it's a team effort by the coaches" or "by the staff." He has done some serious I want to keep my reputation stuff this week.

JRob had a "killer" answer as to if there's any confusion as to the offense or play calls- Well we have transcripts of the radio that we discuss, but we also have one of the best defensive minds in NFL history on our staff."

I said that months ago! If anyone can tell ya what's wrong with an O, it'd be Lebeau

The "we discuss" part was questioned. Apparently, he didn't review things and dig as much last year but being VP he has taken it upon himself to do this this year.

End of season interviews will happen and force decisions. He said the organization likes it so much they probably do it long after he's gone. What I wouldn't give to hear moustache, amy, and Jrob question the staff one on one after the season. No timeframe was given. He's aware it's been done the next day and as far as a month after.

Everyone on the Titans seems to be pointing to last year's Chiefs win, the Jags wins, and 1999 as like there's a good possibility they are in the AFCC. They have the wrong attitude! They should be saying their normal "put in work" "execute" stuff. To be acting like "yes, we made the playoffs" and now anything easy like is horrible.

One reporter expected a harder than usual practice today to fix their mindset.

Harry Douglas has been worn out this week. Several reporters think he's active and part of the game plan because he's clearly got a bunch of practice work that he usually doesn't get

Loggains is now Dolphins OC. So absurd. He is a gifted scout and terrible OC. With their head coach, maybe they can fix him but...ugh

The #Titans are in the playoffs, but coach Mike Mularkey’s job is not safe. Sources say a loss could end his tenure, as the team prepares for a run at #Patriots OC Josh McDaniels. Big game today with multiple ramifications.

Josh McDaniels would take us to the next level. Wow. Rooting hard for a win today though in spite of that.

Jared Stillman @JaredStillman

Former Titans GM Floyd Reese calls Mike Mularkey reports on @1025TheGame: "fake news", says "zero percent chance" that Mularkey gets fired.

Good luck to the Titans. The run defense is something that is pretty impressive all year and works against KCs main strength. Its going to be fun to watch.

For fantasy purposes it would be better for me if KC wins, but I am still rooting for a Titans victory.

As ya know, Marcus made a huge block. I am oh so curious how that affects everything (if at all) moving forward. That's gotta help with leading a bunch of guys to do whatever it takes. It's gotta help his and Henry's confidence. I bet there's some future significance to that block

All that TE cross training paying off.  :)

I'd like to punch Stillman in his ugly face

It's safe now.

I'd have loved to see what McDaniels could do with the offense.

Now, yep.

Completely different team in the 2nd half. Off to NE or Pitt.
hoping for the Patriots but either is going to be tough. Although I guess I wouldn't mind seeing the bills upset the jags.

I'm with you on both, but if push comes to shove, I'd say Patriots now and hope the Jags take out the Steelers. Not sure I can put a finger on it but the Pats just seem a little bit more managable - even if they are pretty scary on home turf

Dan Shaughnessy @Dan_Shaughnessy

Titans at Gillette Saturday.
Patriots first team in NFL history awarded back-to-back bye weeks before the AFC Championship.

Would rather play at Pats over Steelers after we got throttled earlier in the year. Lots of distractions in Boston right now and playing with house chips against the superbowl favorites. Feels great and can't wait.

I would love an upset.

Just keeping it real though, Brady is likely going to carve up that secondary that still needs some work.

The Titan have a chance though if the Pats can't handle Henry.
BB's defense has been the worst and one of the worst this year, but they still win! And he's a defensive genius. There's been about a million times I said, "I just don't get it."

He obviously can scheme to stop any team enough but...man they're beatable for a change.

I'll tell ya though. I would bet huge $ on a tie game and Mularkey elects to punt to the best comeback QB ever with 2 min left. It' so bang your head against the wall likely

I agree the Patriots defense is one of the weakest I have seen. Especially against the run.

Thus why I said maybe they can't handle Henry.

They do have some good defensive backs and I think a bit better against the pass than they are the run.

Run defense is usually weak but Belichick will take away your first option.

While this is a common narrative I don't think its applicable here. Either your team is good against the run or it isn't.

Sure they can load the box to help against the run, and try to force the Titans to win through the pass, in fact that seems likely what they will try to do, I just don't know that it will actually be effective.

If they do sell out to stop the run, then the Titans may be able to win through the pass, they do have the weapons. MM needs to play a lot better than he has to pull that off though.

The Patriots are 20th in run defense on the year. They have given up 4.7 yards per rushing attempt on the year, tied for 30th worst. Only the Chargers have been worse in this category. They have given up 114.8 rushing yards per game.

Only 6 rushing TD allowed. They get teams to abandon the run by scoring on offense and forcing them out of it. Not by really stopping it.
