Titans expect big jump from LenDale White (1 Viewer)

White's outlook if everythign falls right...1,000 yds an 8 TD. That is pretty optimistic for right now.
That's an awfully low figure as a ceiling. Henry had 1,211 yards and 7 TDs in 14 games last season. If everything falls right, White should be able to match those totals.
As a dynasty LW owner I would love for him to post numbers like henry did last season...however Henry had some reasons $$$ to do what he did. i hope White busts out but I think if he came out of the season with 1,000 total yds and 6-8 TD, a step in the right direction for owners. He only had 60 carries last season...240 would be a lot more carries and get him close to 1,000/6-8TD....I think expecting the Henry numbers might be a bit presumptive EBF...but I share the enthusiasm over him.

2. With Vince Young at the QB spot I see a limited ceiling for whoever runs as the RB1 in TN. Young scrambles and will run for some of the TD the RB would get. I see a ceiling of about 8 TD tops for anyone the Titans deem their starter. The offense is going to be wrapped around VY, plain and simple.White's outlook if everythign falls right...1,000 yds an 8 TD. That is pretty optimistic for right now.
I don't know dude. I watched a lot of Texas football games where Vince and (insert RB name here- Jamal Charles, Cedric Benson, Selvin Young, etc.) both went off and mashed a team together. I think that's what makes Vince a really dangerous player. He gets his RBs involved quickly to take the pressure off him allowing both of them to go off. I can't say I see a lot more than what you predict this year, but once that O really gets rolling in 2008/9, I'm not sure what the ceiling is.
 My thoughts exactly. Thats why I haven't put alot of stock into Benson Because I think he benefitted from Vince's development and threat. Anyone from Texas should know this.

Dynasty LW owner here...

This is the make or break season for White, IMO. He wont get a chance to suck for more than a year. Either he explodes with a top 15 season or the Titans bring in someone else to compliment Vince.

I'm quite eager to see if LenDale can bring some game this season. Anyone heard if he is preparing hard and impressing folks this offseason? My nightmare would be that he would show up for camp overweight and out of shape and have an injury marred season. IMO, the coaching staff should require him to go the same sort of NFL boot camp like Chris Carter used to go to in the summer. LenDale needs to become a workout warrior (did I just say workout warrior and LenDale White in the same sentence?).

Ceiling: 1200 yards and 10 TDs, 30 receptions 280 yards

Likely: 700 yards and 5 TDs, 20 receptions 150 yards

Yeah, especially since Benson ran for 2000+ yards with someone else under center at Texas.

If he starts all season, then he almost has to rush for at least 1,000 yards. Who can they bring in to vulture touches? Most of the big free agents are off the market. I stand by my claim that he's better than any of the RBs in this draft not named Peterson or Lynch. Who does that leave? Chris Brown? He seems done in Ten. LaMont Jordan? Seems unlikely. Michael Turner? I'll be stunned if they can afford him. Ricky Williams? Doubt it. Dominic Rhodes? Not better than White. I agree that this is his make-or-break year, but it sure looks like he has the inside track the workhorse role. If he's remotely motivated and fully-healthy then he should be top 20. That said, I fully expect Tennessee to bring in a complement somwhere between rounds 2-5.

Hmmmmmmmmm, fat camp, I like it.

I was in no way diminishing the abilities of Benson or Charles or S. Young or whoever. I was simply saying that IMO Vince helps RBs more than people realize. If Benson had been Vince's RB during the championship season, it wouldn't have even been close. I think that after 2-3 years with a guy like Vince, you learn to see what he sees and react better to what he's about to do. I think give FatWhite a chance for a couple years to see what he can really do with Vince as his QB.

I thought White was the better back between he and Bush.

I don't think it's fair to pull my quote out of the context I provided.
:banned: Aren't you one of the guys here this time last year saying that White was going to have a better NFL career than Bush? There were a few of those. I'm still astounded that people actually thought that.
I'm equally astounded that their careers are already over. If only all FF discussions could be absolutely solved so quickly.

Fair point. But I'll continue to maintain that (1) Reggie Bush is a vastly superior NFL running back to Lendale White and (2) Lendale White will be the RB bust of that class.

As you should. Your position looks fantastic at this point. I think the Titans let Henry walk without much of a fight (essentially) for one of 3 reasons:

1. They think Brown will have no choice but to come back.

2. They are willing to do "whatever is necessary" to acquire a veteran with some talent. (McGahee, Turner, JJones, etc.)

3. They think White can develop in to the main guy and be supported by a Ahrmad Hall and a cast of inexpensive vets and/or rookies.

Of the list, #3 looks the most likely, followed shortly by #2, with #1 being a distant possibility.

Not to mention that "The Cheese" could not stay off the weed and the $8m roster bonus (thanks Reese) was a bit too much to risk...

Prediction .

White . 90 carries 369yds 2 TDs

30 rec 200yds 1 TD

Turner 250 Carries 1250yds 12Tds

48 rec 350yds 2 Tds

Yes White will take a big jump ( Down ).
