No he hasn't played.Any idea what the story is with Jerome Baker last Sunday? The snap count shows him on the field for 100% of defensive plays, yet he did nothing statistically.
I've mentioned him a few times.
Darrell Baker Jr is a CB they scooped up off the WW and he's done just fine with very little praise. That's probably the Baker you see.
Callahan said Gibbens is playing so well that Baker hasn't played. This is not true whatsoever. It's a definite weak spot. Josh Allen attacked Gibbens spot right away when he came in for Jones on a brief injury just before the trade. Then Detroit did all game. The Pats weren't wise enough to keep doing it but when they did they got completions.
He's a heady player but slowish and offenses can easily get a quick pass to the TE or slot. He should be benched.
Gifford isn't dissimilar but he's long past starting and does the roster/practice squad dance.
Still waiting for a coach quote that James Williams will play D to be true. With neither playing D we don't know if Baker is above "camp star" Williams or last year's "camp star" Otis Reese.

With Diggs out for the year. Brown is supposedly replacing him. He's questionable. I'd expect they sign someone.
There's a lot of quotes from the last two summers that Williams and Otis (college safeties) will not move back to safety.
With Adams long gone and now Diggs, there seems to be a ripeness for something to change. We'll probably hear something at Wilson's Wednesday presser.

Simmons has his leg in some apparatus on the sideline. I missed it but saw a few tweets. Maybe one of those pressure things? He had a great game. I'm expecting he rests some and practices late in the week.
Sweat played 44 percent of snaps. I thought he'd sit. There's no secret no sure way to get rookies past the wall. His bod is definitely hurting him. IIRC he's got hip, ankle, knee, and shoulder soreness. Announcers have him 370-380 pounds. It's simply a different bod than usual and ...idk what but they've gotta help the rookie get some routine (like Kirk Cousins in Netflix show) to help his bod recover.
