Titans Kearse and Pacman (1 Viewer)

I posted these in "the pool" but just for the sake of discussion I thought I'd re-post them here.

Jevon Kearse has re-signed or signed again with the Titans.

He's older now but do you think he still can be a "force to be reckonned with"? He said he didn't like the Eagles read and react scheme and prefers to just sorta pin his ears back and attack like the Titans will let him do.

Seems like Bosch, Haynesworth, and Kearse makes for a pretty nice set of 3 there IMO.

Pacman has several teams interested in trades. Cowboys and Fins are most interested. Of course the prob here is will he be back from suspension and stay out of trouble.

Also, Titans GM said they're not done making moves along the DL.

I'm an Eagles homer, and I don't think it was the scheme. Kearse's biggest problem is that he is about to turn 32 and his body has just been battered for the last eight or so seasons. He's drastically undersized for end, and struggles to keep his weight on. Even when he was healthy with Philly, he was drastically more effective in September than he was in any December. There were radio sportstalk rumors years ago that he played at 225 during their Superbowl run. The guy was naturally lean and just had trouble keeping weight on. Spotting 70 to 100 pounds to linemen week in and week out has to take it's tool.

Kearse will only be effective again if used strictly against the pass. He is a decent defender against the run, because of his quickness, but it wears him down. Tennessee must limit him to 25 or so snaps per game and keep him fresh. I was sad to see it play out for him like that in Philly. He was a complete class guy. He was as personable and funny as any athlete in Philadelphia which made him a favorite at training camp. He always interacted with fans and really made it fun to go to their camp.

Meh. Either you can rush the passer or you can't. Linemen are going to get their hands on you whether you hesitate a split second to read a running play or not. I'm with mike303. I haven't seen a consistent explosive first step from Kearse in years. Without that, he's not going to be successful in any scheme.Like Odell Thurman, I'd guess someone will want to give Pacman a shot if/when he's re-instated. Doesn't look like that will be anytime soon however.

I owned him last year and he played awful. The Eagles actually benched him. I'm a Gator fan that roots for Kearse, but I won't touch him again.

Some people seem to think that playing next to the Tenn tackles will help him, but if Jimmie Johnson's blitz schemes can't free him up I don't think anything can.
