Titans wide receivers (1 Viewer)

TE Alize Mack was cut.
Such a shame he got injured for a couple weeks. He was having a heckuva camp early, injury, then just played FB. To his credit, when he played FB the NFL world seemed to notice the Titans run game and preseason stats are generally ignored. 300 yards one week, I think 200ish the next.
The line, the backs, deserve credit too but I'm praising this dude for having a great attitude and rocking a demotion.

He's a lock for the PS but probably released early so he can latch on with another team.

The only TE that stood up to the D when they were dominating early. Played out wide, TE, HBack, and FB several practices in a row. Very well coached very well rounded....now the Titans have athletic questionable blockers and good blockers with questionable hands left. I hope it's the right choice

Titans ***depth*** FF WR discussion on Sirius
Telling ya don't do it. When (if he ever has to) Burks returns from missing time, less opportunity. When Phillips does, even less.

I like Roberson and you're welcome to pick a fave but you're not starting your last pick in a draft week one, probably not week two and...I don't see it for FF unless some depth player shocks us.

I think the only one capable of shocking is Roberson after his gaudy college stats one year many years ago. To each their own though

Heard some interviews yesterday- seems a very common sentiment that the Titans finally found some depth worth developing at WR and that they're probably going to cut them in favor of slower unexciting veterans.

Roberson, star of camp, top playmaker, made a play every day common sentiment he might stick. Maybe Kearis as a return guy.

Vrabel asked what the difference with Roberson was this year and he said speed. He got behind everybody we've got and of course adding special teams. He had to play special teams last year and wasn't committed like he was this year.

Rader and Odukoya released so the TE spot is probably set.
Odukoya is a big surprise. Last year's foreign exchange guy(forget what it's called) he was a dominant blocker all summer, won Vrabel's award for camp, and several articles and TV mentions pumping up that foreign program.

He demolished some DEs and OLBs on blocks and had Titans fans asking if he should be a T. Not just "good block," it grabbed your attention.

This one I don't believe. Day two addition? Temporary PS stash? Something's up

Kearis was fine returning, unspecial but in today's NFL the rules arguably don't allow for any Hester like fun so almost all return guys are unspecial.
They had plenty of opportunity in two weeks to get him in at WR and didn't- not once. He's on IR now.
He was a bad roster keep them.

Mason Kinsey is activated to be the return guy. We'll see if he gets any WR work.

Dowell hasn't been active. He's gotten (too much) second round latitude for a seventh round pick.

Harrison (PS) and Roberson should have made this team. It's not even questionable when the staff refuses to put players in at WR- their position- and it's really frustrating as a fan.

Phillips MAY return week five. There hasn't been any updates yet everyone is talking like he's a lock once the four weeks on IR are done. He took a shot and bad twist and that surgically repaired knee said "hold up a second." MRIs have shown no damage so he probably will return week five. We're just sort of overdue for an update.
I still think Phillips is one of the best route runners in the NFL and one of the best to come out of college in the last decade.
He's annoying for FF. He's probably a 3 for 30 or 4 for 40 lock each week. If Hopkins or Burks get hurt maybe probably he sees an uptick- I could see that but he's not an outside WR. He's Welker.

NWI is at a supreme coach's pet level it's absurd. We know what happens next. He gets relied on and Tannehill has a game with two or three INTs thrown his way and he goes back to being a moderately used depth piece of the puzzle. It's brutal knowing that's coming.
He's got an underdog sort of fan base now that is all "good for you" as he led the Titans in snaps last week and ...oh cmon like anyone said play him over the future HOFer or good looking first rounder.
He's made some excellent blocks and a few good catches. Just leave that as is.

Burks' minimal usage and Kelly's offense week one was worrisome. The Nuk show didn't spread it around at all. Week two Chig and Burks were more involved and it didn't look like everything was forced every play. I'm giving this O some time to develop.

Chig always doesn't seem to get it. He should have blocked n blocked and become the best he could be all off-season. In week two there were a few screens and little passes that were obviously just there to wake up the big fella but...I'm so anxious for the light to go on with him.

Wesco has a bad bad game last week but they seem to love him so it's forgivable for the blocking TE.

I'm wondering when we see Whyle. It's almost like the stage is getting set for the young tall guy to step in.

Shi Smith was signed to the PS.
Burks is out.
The Titans had tryouts this week and Reggie Roberson was brought in.
They still have a roster spot open and from what I hear they have not agreed on $ with Roberson.
Guy is rightfully so shooting his shot. I don't blame him a bit but I doubt it works.

Hopkins is overcoming an ankle injury, Phillips is on IR, Burks is out and do they promote the WRs they have? Play the backups that have been sitting? Nope they try to add Roberson who they knew all along was one of the best the last two summers.
Absolutely shameful and I hope Roberson gets millions for it.

Phillips will begin his 21 day return window next week and they won't know how ready he is to go until they see him in practice.

Burks missed Wednesday and Thursday so I'd expect he doesn't play this week.
There's still a roster spot open and idk any more details of Roberson- work it out? Move on?

The Titans WR corps makes me think Henry is going to get 600 carries this season.
I cant imagine it wont be a high number when they are in the ballgame, Im just hoping Spears gets enough work to make him playable. Seems like he is alllllmost to that level but not quite.

zero chance Tannehill is the QB next year, right? And almost zero chance that the next QB is on this roster right now. so, where does this ship go? there is an out on Hopkins after this season, though not exactly a cheap one. Burks hasn't been on the field enough to see what he brings to the table and certainly isn't up to the standard you'd expect from him. loved the prospect of philips last pre season but he seems to have the worst injury luck so far.

so, with burks and philips probably definitely back next year on their rookie contracts, Hopkins probably back since he won't get paid elsewhere ($12M salary v ~$8M dead cap so tennessee probably won't let him walk either), can it get worse than Tannehill for this receiving room in 2024?

just realized henry's contract is up after this season also. this group may represent cheap upsides for next season in non-redraft leagues.
