Titus Young is Inactive again. (1 Viewer)

Lions declared WR Titus Young inactive for Sunday's Week 13 game against the Colts.

Young's knuckleheaded antics got him in Jim Schwartz's doghouse and there are no signs he's getting out anytime soon. Team leader Dominic Raiola said this week the Lions have "moved on" from Young due to his selfish behavior. And as of 11 a.m. Sunday, Young wasn't even at the stadium. Ryan Broyles draws another start opposite Calvin Johnson as a strong fantasy play while Young can be dropped in re-draft formats. Dec 2 - 11:54 AM

DETROIT -- Detroit Lions receiver Titus Young is inactive for today's game against the Indianapolis Colts.

The move does not come as a surprise as Young must regain the trust of his teammates and coaches. He was recently sent home for the second time this year because of his misbehavior after a loss against the Green Bay Packers. Young was allowed to rejoin the team this past week, but the coaching staff is not ready for him to trust him on the field yet.

As a result, Lions rookie receiver Ryan Broyles will start on Sunday. Broyles had six receptions for 126 yards in a recent loss against the Houston Texans.

I think it's safe to assume that Titus probably wasn't invited to the stadium on gameday - not to diminish his stupidity.

This kid is a maroon. He tweeted this today!“@TitusDYoungSr: Like I said I never been selfish but if I'm not going to get the football i don't want to play anymore”

Could this guy be the dumbest guy to ever play the game?

If I'm not mistaken, he's not a free agent until 2015. Would love to see the Lions hold onto him and let him rot for two more years instead of releasing him and letting him possibly find another team.

For revenge, it's a good idea. In reality, they want that deaush off the team ASAP. Likely won't change a bit and will wash out of the league before you know it.

I believe they take the same cap hit for Titus whether he's on the team or cut. And the lions are really tight on cap space. In this case they'll keep him even if he's a wr4/wr5.

Let the door hit you in the ### on the way out.

Sorry, bumped the other Young thread before I saw this one on Page 1. I've since deleted it.

So frustrating seeing talented guys who just don't get it.

From Rotoworld:Titus Young - WR - Lions Titus Young was back at the keyboard on Friday morning and said, "Oh I'm not done, if y'all going to cut me let me go. I'm tired of the threats.""Never needed the money Give me a dollar and a ball bet I come back #HallofFame," Young added. This comes on the heels of a Tuesday rant on Twitter where Young threatened to quit if he didn't get the ball anymore. Head coach Jim Schwartz commented on the matter on Wednesday by saying, "You wear your uniform 24 hours a day now, everybody's aware of that. We obviously still got some ground to cover there." This may be the straw that ends up breaking the camel's back for Young in Detroit, and he may actually be fine with that. Source: Titus Young on Twitter Jan 25 - 9:00 AM

My favorite comment:

"10 years from know Titus will be living under a bridge with Charles Rogers asking why me what did i do"

Oh good lord... :lmao:
Ummm, I'm sorry. Did I miss the part where Titus showed he was even worthy of getting the ball? This is a guy who deserves all the hate speak he gets. I wish I could provide some, but I'll refrain on the site. Also, you look like a straight thug in his rotoworld picture Titus. No one does the straight line thing anymore, bra!

McCosky alluding to some real mental issues with Young. It's really the only explanation, right?

Titus as good as gone

Titus Young is going to get his wish. There is no way the Lions can bring him back now. If he was walking on thin ice before, he’s fallen completely through the cracks now. There is no rescuing this guy.

“Oh I’m not done, if y’all going to cut me let me go. I’m tired of the threats.”

That’s what he posted on his Twitter page Friday morning.

Rosters are frozen until after the Super Bowl. My guess is that on Monday, Feb. 4, the Lions will announce they have released Young. They have already paid him all the guaranteed money he was due from his rookie contract. He would still count some $900,000 against their cap for 2013, but it would be a lot easier to bear that expense than to try to explain to the rest of the team, and the Fords, and the fan base, why they chose to bring this disruptive, disgruntled, non-producing player back into the fold.

I tread lightly here because I truly believe Young has some serious issues — emotional, mental issues. He needs help. I have been told that the organization has pleaded with Young to get help. They have set him up with therapists. He has not cooperated.

“Never needed the money Give me a dollar and a ball bet I come back #HallofFame.”

Another delusional Tweet from Young. His antics last season and through this offseason have made him toxic — to the point where I doubt the Lions could even trade him. I can’t imagine another team taking a chance on him, not even for a dollar, at least not in his current state.

It’s a sad story, really. Hopefully something good can ultimately come from it. Maybe, when no other team comes calling, Young will swallow his pride and get help. And maybe Martin Mayhew and Jim Schwartz will take more seriously the red-flagged character issues that come with some of the prospects on their draft board.

Who cares?
Calvin Johnson because he's tired of getting triple teamed.Matt Stafford because he's tired of throwing into triple coverage.Nate Burleson because this helps his chances of returning.Titus Young fantasy owners.Frustrated Lions fans that saw their team strike out on low character guys and than reverse course the next year and not take low character guys like Janoris Jenkins that so far have worked out and would have been badly needed.

Well he's either the world's biggest buffoon or he seriously needs medication of some sort. I hope he gets the help he needs before he completely ruins his life.

:wall: Lucky me! I drafted Leshoure AND Titus. Dropped Leshoure after he tore his achilles, now it looks like I'll be dropping Titus. :hot:

The Lions should just drop him altogether. He's clearly more trouble than he's worth, and if he thinks he's better than Megatron, then he's got to be kidding.

Your wish has been granted. Lions waived the knucklehead.http://www.detroitlions.com/news/lions-insider/article-1/Titus-Young-released-by-the-Detroit-Lions/560b474a-bf91-4491-8388-603dcecaf336

This guy makes TO and Moss look sane... and you WANT the guy? lol I hope you get your wish, would love to see the look on Cutlers face when he purposely lines up wrong for not getting the ball.

I can agree with the bears. Other spots I'd like to see him land are the Vikings or the Packers. Perfect talent for those teams.

Courtesy of the Detroit Free Press:E.C. Robinson, Young's high school coach, said Young came to his house on Christmas and the two talked about his problems with the Lions."He did tell me he thought he was just as good Megatron," Robinson recalled late last month. "I said, 'Titus, come on.' I said, 'Come on, man. Who you talking to?' I said, 'Come on, you're as good as that guy? This guy is the real deal.' And he really believes this. And he was sincere about it. 'Ah man, I'm better than him.' I said, 'No, you're not. Be real, man. Come on.' So I don't know, I'm hoping for the best for him."

He'll be lucky if anyone gives him a second chance. Marginal talent + bat#### insane is pretty close to a guaranteed career killer.

Not a doubt in my mind he'll be on a roster next year. But the dude is delusional...he thinks he's better than Calvin? Anyone who is that blind is not someone I want on my team (Lions fan here, so glad we cut him). There's a big difference between being confident in your talents and thinking you're better than a guy who could go down as one of the best ever (assuming he has a long career). Titus has got talent and IF he can keep his selfish behavior in check, he'll give a boost to someone. But that's a BIG IF!

Man, my respect for Megatron has gone up to go through with this bull. Calvin just works his butt off and is a completely stand up guy while being the best in the league, and has some kid on his team talking about how much better he is than him. That had to be at least a little irritating. Calvin = respect
