Titus Young worth sitting on? (1 Viewer)

Titus Young was a dud (as we all know) last week. After all his "potential" is he even worth hanging onto for a few weeks? There are a few FA's that didn't get grabbed in my league I could snag:

League is PPR, 1pt per reception, 0.5pts per rush, 0.1pts per yard, 6pts for TDs

Available as FA:

Stephen Hill

Dexter McCluster

Jerome Simpson

The respective QB's of the FA you mention are:

Mark Sanchez

Matt Cassel

Christian Ponder

...I think Young is a DeSean Jackson like player who'll be incredibily inconsistent, but will go off on a couple of weeks.

I have Titus and I think he's a hold at this point. So much potential in that offense if he can keep his head on straight. It doesn't appear that Burleson's going anywhere, though, and you have to think that Broyles will get more and more involved as the season goes on so there's definitely some concern.

If Hill stays healthy and in the starting lineup, I think he's a lock to lead the Jets in TD's at the very least and put up some decent yards. He's the only guy I'd consider over Titus at this point.

Yea I dropped Young for McCluster in my league cause some moron in my league dropped McCluster for Ogletree.

I'm wondering myself. I'm going to hold him for at least one more week and see how he does when Stafford has a good game.

In dynasty, Ryan Broyles is going to steal Young's thunder. I would sell high while the sparkle of a glowing offseason is still fresh in everyone's memory.

I would definitely take Hill over Young at this point. A potential #1 WR on his team vs a WR fighting for targets is a no brainer IMO.

Young is a hold. He is electric but short circuits...hopefully he will learn from his benching. There is no doubt he is mega talented and it is only a matter of time before they put the ball in his hands more often.

Don't let one week cloud your judgement. Give it a couple anyway.

Why'd you draft him if a bad week 1 was all it'd take for you to dump him? Hold him for at least a couple more weeks, or if you're feeling spunky, buy him from someone like you.

At this point, its more than 1 bad week. He was non-existent in the preseason as well. I think this conversation is more about cutting him to free up bench space for a waiver move.

You obviously don't remember all the articles about how unstoppable he was (against the Lions DB's) in practice. ;)

He's obviously a hold. It's just week 1. He's not gonna be benched for the rest of 2012. With his talent and Detroit's passing offense lining up opposite CJ, if you drop him then he's gone for good. Someone else will surely scoop him up. Drop at your own risk.

Titus Young becomes a sneaky start if CJ misses week 2.

"Updating an earlier item, Calvin Johnson was held out of Wednesday's practice with a foot injury, but "seems to be fine."

The word comes via the Lions' official website. Coach Jim Schwartz refused to comment on Megatron's status, but he played the entire game in Sunday's win over the Rams. Reporter Tim Twentyman believes it was simply a day of rest. Until you hear otherwise, assume Johnson will be full-go against the 49ers."

He got benched last season for being a moron, I think it was after the first game with the Saints. He doesn't learn, Desean Jackson 2.0.To everyone else I wouldn't worry about Calvin, I live in Michigan and listen to Sports talk radio at work all the time. All last year people would call the station saying Holy #####, Calvin missed practice we are screwed this week, or what are we going to do if Calvin is only at 80 percent and he played every game last year, and produced.

I like Titus this year, if he falters again this week against a tough 49er defense I will put some offers out for him. The talent is there, he's capable of some big plays and I think we'll see it moving forward. Don't love the matchup this week but there will be some solid games.

1 catch for 11 yards today.

Had a few deep balls thrown his way, a couple I think resulted in Pass Interference. One on him and one on the defense.

They played a tough D but I wonder if he'll be anything other than a guy who is hit or miss this season? Maybe a couple of homerun games but who knows if he'll be in your lineup when they happen. Anyone think he can have enough consistency this season at some point to continue holding him?

Never a big fan of the Titus deep threat types in PPR (too hit/miss).

Calvin/Pettigrew going nowhere. They're not going to just stop playing Burleson.

I'd rather stash Jahvid hoping he moves to a Sproles-type role in that O. (Probably have a couple more weeks to let him sit on the wire in most leagues. Sounds like they wanted him to sit out 1 year of action)

There was a decent amount of hype around him during the off-season but I just don't think he's actually more talented than Nate Burlson. It's clear that Calvin and Pettigrew are Stafford's top 2 targets.
