Titus Young (1 Viewer)

I drafted him this year and one was of the people who dropped him after about week 5.Feeling silly now.
I did exactly the same. Except don't feel silly at all (perhaps a little snakebit, maybe). There's no way to predict injury and after 4-5 games Young was EASILY droppable except in deeper leagues and going nowhere with Burleson in front of him.Just one of those things.
I did too and don't feel bad about it. It was in a start 2 WR league, so he still wouldn't see the starting lineup. I don't think anyone was actually starting him this week against Seattle with as bad as Detroit looked against the Bears unless they had to due to byes and slim pickings on the waiver wire. If Calvin is really hobbled, then Young is a good pickup. If Calvin gets healthy, Young is going to be started by a lot of very possibly soon to be disappointed owners.
if you start him as a #1 or #2 I agree. Rock-Solid #3 though the rest of the way in a high volume passing attack. Nate only had 2 weeks with less than 8 targets. I like the chances of Young's speed taking advantage of those targets more than Nate did. We are already seeing it. 17 targets in the past 2 weeks.

:hey: picked him up in a league after the Burleson injury as mostly a stash and see....ended up plugging him in at last minute for Jordy so that worked out pretty good....I'm in the camp that believes the Lions will start looking more like they did last year than they have this year....would love to be aquiring Calvin right about now....Young seems to be in a legit WR3 possibly WR2 spot right now in fantasy...this team will continue to throw...alot

picked up him and dropped brandon gibson in my dynasty. Figured his upside will be higher...time will tell. Maybe he will be trade bait in the future.

Got him and maybe starting him.Thoughts on playing @ Jax Jags as a matchup?
dropped vereen for him. he was limited in practice on wednesday, so a lot will depend on his knee and status before the weekend. the jags def is BAD: they are 23rd in passing yards allowed (250/game)and 25th overall, but have allowed only 9 passing TDs and 188 total points (27 pt/game).with calvin a little banged up too, detroit trying to resurrect its offense amidst recent criticism, and no run game, i'm feeling that we'll see the detroit offense of old and stafford have a big game. the question is, who will be the recepient of his 3-4 TDs on sunday. megatron? pettigrew? young?

Pro Football Weekly reports Calvin Johnson (questionable, knee) may be limited to third-down situations if he's active for Week 9 at Jacksonville.

Per PFW's Eric Edholm, Johnson is a true game-time decision, and it sounds like his snaps may be limited if he goes. Of course, the Lions could increase Megatron's role at any given moment if his adrenaline is kicking early in the game and he's racking up catches against a Jacksonville secondary that will be minus at least two starting defensive backs, and possibly three. Keep an eye on updates Sunday morning. Johnson should still be penciled into fantasy lineups.

For the record; I believe CJ will play. Let's say the GTD does not go his way though and they sit him. What do we expect from Young?

The Jags are pretty banged up in the secondary and Young should be playing with a lot of intensity (and targets). 100+ yards and a TD would be a pretty reasonable expectation. I'm starting him over Steve Johnson, Redman, and Felix Jones if CJ is out.

I know that some people don't like posts like these but I find them really useful. I'm debating starting Young over S. Johnson as well. I've got him over both Stevie and Hartline in my 0.5ppr league. Even if Mega plays I think he's a great wr3 with solid wr2 upside.

I may be in the minority here as a Titus Young owner who HOPES Calvin Johnson plays. Johnson obviously isn't 100 percent, but if he's on the field he's definitely going to draw attention from more than one player, leaving Young to exploit the other side of the field against a probably much weaker player.

I think Johnson will play... whether he plays and is effective or is more of a decoy remains to be seen. I think Young will benefit either way. I'd actually be more nervous if Johnson doesn't play, as Young will command more attention and the offense as a whole should struggle more.

Bad week last week for Titus, and things were going so well.

It occures to me this may have had to do with the success that the Lions were having running the ball and connecting with Calvin.

Is Titus a hold or was the last 2 weeks a mirage?

Hold, Detroit was out of character last week against a week Jacksonville team. Now Minn isn't much better, but at least they are defensively so Det will not beable to run on them in the way they did last week so the passing should be needed..

Titus Young (knee) did not practice Thursday.Young's season-long knee issues apparently aren't getting any better. Last week, he was able to put in three limited practices and earned a "probable" listing on the official injury report. This week, he's yet to even participate in practice. The Lions haven't expressed any real concern, but it's a situation to monitor. If active, the speedy Young has an enticing matchup with a Vikings secondary that has given up six touchdowns to Josh Freeman and Russell Wilson in the last two weeks.

Missing practice - Calvin Johnson, T Young, Delmas, Spievey, Avril, Houston and Williams. KVB is back
https://twitter.com/cmccosky/statuses/266580598490034176Three limited practices last week, no practice this week (so far)..... Crazy thought: I wonder if the Mike Thomas signing wasn't all about Calvin but really partly was in concern over Young's tendonitis?

Rough week for finding good WR2/3 matchups.Calvin & Young Sr. both practicing today.Minny is #26 in FFPA to WRs plus there is this nice stat from CBS:

In the last three games against Minnesota, No. 2 wideouts have accounted for four touchdowns, and players at the position are averaging a quality 18.9 Fantasy points per game versus the Vikings. Opposing wideouts have also totaled seven touchdowns, including five scores over the past three games.

IMO the answer this week is Ryan Broyles:

Targets last 3 games: 4, 5, 6

3 15 12-140-2 38.0 / 12.7

His route tree is increasing, and he practiced the most this week.

If it weren't for the McFadden injury I would be carrying Broyles and Young. Now Titus is Q.https://twitter.com/TomPelissero/status/267015461584130048Thanks for the tip. Maybe now is the time for Broyles.

Bumping for Sunday updates... nothing since:

Titus Young (knee) is listed as questionable for Week 10 after returning to Friday's practice.Young is in no known danger of missing Sunday's game against the Vikings. Although inconsistent, he continues to offer a high weekly ceiling in fantasy leagues. He's worth a long look as a WR3 in standard-scoring systems this week.

Sitting Young for either Alexander or Maclin.

I guess what happened vs SEA is the Hawks just shut down Calvin and let Young roam free.

Otherwise though he's been scoring TDs you have to expect or hope Young does because if he does what he did vs Jax - dropped an easy one - you're left with a pretty low number.

I think it's going to be a shootout, so I'm going with him. For what it's worth I have no other viable options at this point.

He got raped twice in the end zone. Refs let the Packers secondary get away with murder. Another example of the terrible officiating today.

I'm thinking of playing Broyles over Young. Any one else faced with the same decision?
I realize this was earlier post...Broyles' awesome hands have created an impressive target to catch ratio.Thomas seems to be doing whatever the coach wants.Broyles is in slot, Thomas replacing Young outside. If it were me, I would swap those two but it's an in-season replacement, they both only know whatever they know of the offense. It's not important. What is is that those two can create in a way that forces the D to not have 10 guys covering Calvin. Lions need an unpredictable O so that Leshoure can run also.Titus has to play as the year closes out if they want to trade him. Thomas has to prove he can start and be key part of their team.Broyles has to keep rolling and really hasn't been productive the last two weeks.I wouldn't start any of these guys for FF as the season wears on. If them sharing two spots next to Calvin isn't enough, Scheffler recently proved he can get it done still and will be in the mix as well. I think 2013 will be different, but way too risky for FF playoffs.

this is weird. he was purposely lining up in the wrong places? like to know a lil more about that backstory...

Lions | More on Titus Young

Wed, 28 Nov 2012 19:47:43 -0800

Detroit Lions head coach Jim Schwartz said Wednesday, Nov. 28, that it was "too soon to tell" whether WR Titus Young would be active for the Week 13 game against the Indianapolis Colts. "He's always been a member of the team. Last week, he was inactive and like I said yesterday, we needed some time apart to get some stuff straight. Came out today and worked hard, did his job, and that's what we expect of him," Schwartz said. In a loss to the Green Bay Packers in Week 11, Young purposely lined up in the wrong spot on the field multiple times and was removed from the game's final series after a verbal exchange with receivers coach Shawn Jefferson.
