TO to Raiders? (1 Viewer)

OK, here's a piece of pure speculation.

Carson Palmer to the Raiders says to me that Hue Jackson is going for it right now and to heck with the team's future.

Do not the Raiders have a bit of a black hole, so to speak, at WR?

Would not TO, who should be good to go in a few weeks, be a nice addition?

Palmer played with him last season and they combined well together.

Stranger things have happened!

I think they are happy with Bey, Moore and Ford

No. The Raiders have an above average group of wide receivers. Its just that they are a running team.

I could not have been more wrong on my Carson Palmer guessing but I am never afraid to eat crow.

The Raiders actually have a solid corp of WRs including DHB, Ford, D Moore, Murphy, Hagan, and Schillens.

TO will not be coming to Oakland. End of Story.

That is the phrase that came back to bite me last time.

Also an ancient prima donna coming off of major injury would be more of a distraction than a help as soon as he starts complaining that he isnt getting enough passes thrown his way.

What ever happened to TO being rushed to the hospital thing, never heard anything after the initial reports. Anyone know?

My opinion is that it was pure BS. TO was tweeting constantly that whole week he supposedly was rushed to the hospital. he posted training videos and he had talked to Jay Glazer who reported that he looked awesome and can "Run every route"oh, and of course Drew Rosenhaus just announced that TO is ready to play.Get your popcorn ready

I know it's never gonna happen, but Rosenhaus just tweeted he's contacting teams today and that TO looks ready to play this Sunday...as a Dynasty league owner who's held onto TO that would kick some serious ### if i can get him back...I've been hit HARD with injuries and guys like Reggie Wayne falling off...would be nice to have a little TO to sprinkle in there

Color me skeptical. T.O. tore his ACL in April and likely didn't have surgery until May. The quickest we saw anyone at WR really ready to play post ACL surgery was Wes Welker, who I believe had surgery in February and was able to come back to play in September (basically 7 months).

Welker was 10 years younger than Owens is now, and we are to believe that Owens can come back sooner? Even at 7 months, Welker was not even close to the same player initially when he came back.

I don't see a situation where T.O. could come back this year and make either an NFL or a fantasy impact . . . and that's not even considering the whole ego/character issue/distraction side of things.

TO isn't most players though. He's an all-time great. and we've seen this before...lest we forget he came back from a broken ankle several weeks earlier than most players would have been able to, and caught 9 balls for 122 yards in the Super Bowl.

I'm no doctor, but a few weeks early from a broken bone at 30 is a little different than several months early from major knee surgery at almost 38, especially when it normally takes a full year to get close to normal. It's not like Owens or Rosenhaus are going to actually come out and say that T.O. isn't 100%. They need to make it sound like he could run a 4.2 forty and that he could play tomorrow. Again, call me skeptical.

A 100% healthy Owens would still have trouble landing a job. Only two lousy teams wanted him the last years..a crappy Bills team and a crappy Bengals team..and now are both much better. Addition by subtraction.

just a guess, but i'm pretty sure Carson wants nothing to do with TO or Ocho after last season. why re-introduce that headache?

T.O. was a dominant receiver last year until the injury. Top 5 fantasy wise. Torched the Steelers for 200-2
