Todd Heap? and the rest of the Raven's O (1 Viewer)

I am not a heap fan, but with the loss of stallworth and him being targeted 7 times the other night I am thinking he may be a steady #2 TE with some upside. Am I reading in too much to the preseason or is he the forgotten man in many drafts who could make a difference this year?

Also, that raven O looks good for about 4-5 skill positions.

thoughts?

The Ravens were out to establish the passing game against the Giants. They chose not to run much. There is no way the Ravens will pass this much on average, so I would consider Heap's targets to be much higher than expected for the time he played. It doesn't mean you shouldn't expect a great year from him, but it seemed to me that the Ravens were working on the passing game in particular this past week and deliberately didn't have a balanced attack, while I expect they will be much more apt to run the ball when the regular season rolls around. They'll definitely pass a good bit, but it won't be like you saw against the NYG.

I do think Heap should be a steady TE#2 with some upside. They did draft 2 rookie TEs who are both supposed to be solid, but Heap could be stepping it up once again this year. We will see.

I like a healthy Heap this year. I think that he will see a lot of targets as the Ravens will be forced to throw in games due to a weak secondary. He will be a forgotten player in drafts so why not take a flyer on him with your last pick?
