Todd Heap (1 Viewer)

I dropped Rosario for Heap this morning. a Healthy Heap is a top 5-7 TE
I don't know why people are dropping him....I just picked him up as well. I waited to draft Owen Daniels and Schefler. Now I get to have Heap and I didn't use a high pick on him...HELL YA!

I say take a gamble if you can. This year, where TEs were supposedly deep, they've been really thin. If the dude stays healthy, he should be the second receiving option out there.

revisiting this topic after week 3 (week 2 for Baltimore). I picked him up since my LJ Smith experiment has turned out to be a failure thus far, and some other owner cut bait on him.

Anyway, enough about me, let's talk about Heap. Bad matchup this week, but going forward, is there a reason to be optimistic based on week 3 performance?

Todd Heap sucks. There, I said it. I'm sick and tired of hearing the opinion that this guy is even a roster worthy tight end. I can think of 32 tight ends I'd rather own right now (Visanthe Shiancoe and Eric Johnson included). I'd rather have Vernon Davis blank me. Simply put, I legitimately HATE this guy. And to the person who suggested that you're getting value if he's on the waiver wire, you're not. I will snort cigarette ash if he has more fantasy points than Vernon Davis, who happens to be the second worst tight end in the league behind Todd Heap in my opinion.

Don't be a hater.

Todd Heap is probably around a TE#5 - TE#7 when healthy which has not been much the last few years. I think he would be very pickup worthy as he seems to be getting healthy again. Very few TEs can put up the kind of numbers that Heap normally does when healthy and I would much rather have him than a lot of these inconsistent other guys. He will always be an injury concern and he does have a rookie QB throwing to him but he has proven when healthy that he can be a top 5 TE. I would buy cheap.

With Clark on bye I picked up Stevens yesterday. Vernon Davis was released and can be picked up after clearing waivers on Sunday morning and Heap is available now. Thinking about swapping Stevens for Heap if he's truly healthy.

Funny.... these are the 2 deadbeats I am choosing from every week at the tight end position.Nice to know I managed to draft the 2 worst tight ends in the league.

I'd be more optimistic about Heap's prospects if Boller was still there.

He wasn't very good, but definitely seemed to lock onto Heap. Flacco may as well over time, but with him being very wet behind the ears, right now they're having problems getting any sort of passing rhythm going at all. Obviously, that isn't good for any receiver, never mind Heap.

Todd Heap is not worth a roster spot on a 31 spot bench.
We get that you hate him. I would say you value him much less than most people do. Move on.
My thinking was, if I have to play musical tight ends, might as well get the one who has top 5 potential and hope he lives up to it. Heard he had a drop or two against CLE tho, that's not encouraging.
same here. kellen winslow has a bye week next week and i'm strongly considering stashing heap now, as he is a free agent in my league, before someone else gets to him.
