Tomlinson, Ladanian - RB Chargers (1 Viewer)

He went 10th in my draft last weekend. I considered him at 7, but went with DeAngelo instead.

I have 2 more drafts this weekend, if this thread is still around, I'll post where he went in those.

I got him at 25 in a competitive large money league

This seems like an anomaly to me. I can't imagine him sliding this far in even 1% of the leagues out there

I think people are nervous because his age and Daren Sprools.
I understand this....I was nervous but he was clearly the elephant in the room and has a shot at being the #1 overall....even if it's an outside shot. I'd be surprised to see him finish outside the top 10 RB's. And as far as Sprools goes he's a great handcuff and a decent flex option that can be had in the middle rounds.

I took him 1.06 in a 10 team, .25ppr league. At that point I was looking at Sjax, WR or Brady (deangelo gone, forte gone). If anyone can put up top 3 RB numbers after the top 5 RBs, its LT. He is the hardest worker in the NFL and is full of pride. SD should own that division. Look at Payton and Emmit at this age - solid seasons.

in my last 3 redrafts hes gone as low as 5 and as bad as 11. I don;t get it. I wouldnt touch him until late second at earliest. He lost it 3 years ago and I see no signs of him getiing it back! My attitude is let others deal with what my eyes show me every time he runs the ball. Great player in his prime. But some of u just cant realize when to jump off the band wagon obviously. I learned my lesson with SA!

Went 1.05 in our ppr redraft yesterday. Wasn't me but I don't think it's a bad pick.

He's not what he was, but I think he can be worth that for 1 more year. When you consider that the Bolts get the AFC west Opp. for 6 games, that bumps him up a little for me.

I took him at 1.5 in a .25 ppr league. I had him last year and then a couple years before that (when Alexander had his big year)... so I have a soft spot for the guy and enjoy rooting for him.

LT was one of my favorite players of all time! The guy had it all; the speed, power, burst, juke, hands and ability to take the ball to the house any time he touched the ball. It is very apparent though that the guy has lost a step and the Chargers are a much more explosive and dangerous team with Sproles on the field. LT is a shell of his former self as an actual NFL player but he is still might be an above average RB in this league this season. Whether it be to age or wear and tear or beind dinged up LT was not himself last year and although he is entering the season healthy there are some questions to be asked about this guy......How many other 30 year old RB's out there coming off a year where the had 292 carries for 1110 yards rushing for a dismil 3.8 ypc with a very explosive player behind them (Sproles) would be taken anywhere near the first round of a draft? Not to mention it was easily his worst season as a pro. I don't think there would be many if any that would be taken there. Now, The good points with LT is he did have 52 catches for 426 yards and an 8.2 average which is above his career high in yards per catch last year. He was and still is the goaline back of a very good offensive team. He did have 12 total TD's last year. But the drop off is happening right before our eyes and is this the year to cut bait on him? Only time will tell.

I took him at 1.2 in one of my big time leagues. Everybody always wants to jump on the new guys. It's not a dynasty, it's a redraft. Take who is going to produce this year, and that's all you have to worry about. Don't get caught up in all the hype with the younger guys. He's proved he's a warrior. and if you want to go ahead and let an injury last year color your perception of him, you go right ahead. You won't win your league that way.

To me, there's so many variables with drafting him besides the scoring scheme, tendency of the other owners, etc.

I kept him in my unlimited keeper league but I can't think of 5 other players in the NFL that I would take before him with the same scoring in a redraft league. Our group is very RB-centric so I'm a little biased but so be it.

I think people are really overvaluing Sproles and undervaluing LT this year. Sproles is not a feature back and never will be. LT will almost certainly get more than 275 carries in that offense and Sproles no more than 100. In the receiving game, both could end up about equal. So about 325 total touches for LT and 150 max for Sproles but most likely less. So the question is what can LT do with 325+ touches. The 3.8 ypc last year is concerning. But he had a similar ypc in 2004 and 2001. Was it due to a physical decline or injury or both? Is he healthy? I think the answer is yes and he puts up top 10 RB numbers easily with double digit TD's and an improved 4.3 ypc.

275/1182/11 rush

50/400/2 rec

There is almost no way LT should drop past 1.10 in any league in any scoring format. I have drafted him at 1.5 in a couple leagues.

1.02 in a 10 team. no PPR league - right after I picked up ADP - I could see him being anywhere between 1.02 - 1.05 - lots of people are worried about MJD (no longer sharing carries) and Turner (with a tough schedule) so why wouldn't you take a proven veteran?

He went around 1.8 or 1.9 a couple weeks ago in a 12-team league I'm in.

In my 10-team league, I took him at 2.6 last night.

how did he loses it 3 years ago :goodposting: . 2006 was his 31 TD year. 2007 he had over 1800 total yards and 17 TDs

LT went 1.03 in my 12 team redraft last Saturday. Just a bit high for my liking, but I would have taken him with my seventh pick.

2.3 (15th overall) I considered him at 1.7 but went with Moss. I figured he would go shortly after that but at least by the 1.12, 2.1 picks.

He went 2.04 in a 14 teamer, 10th RB off the board...absolute steal...it's a work league though and most are ######ed.

I took him at 1.03 in a 12-team PPR, High Performance league.

No regrets as I see him as ready to have his 2nd best season of his career.

ADP and Brees went 1.01 and 1.02.

It's weird...I have him ranked as a top 5 guy, but I'm actually reluctant to take him in the top five.

L.T. proclaims he's "the best back"

The fact that he has turned 30 doesn't mean LaDainian Tomlinson's too old to engage in a little "neener, neener, neener."

Speaking to Sam Farmer of the Los Angeles Times, Tomlinson flashed jealousy about a recent Sporting News article in which Jim Brown interviewed Adrian Peterson.

One question posed by Brown suggests that Tomlinson is overrated.

The article, in which Brown says he believes Peterson is "the most complete back he's seen in a long time," was given to Tomlinson by a Chargers staffer.

"I was sitting there reading it thinking, 'Wow,' " Tomlinson told Farmer. "The difference with me is you can put me out on that field and there will be nothing I can't do. I won't have to come off the field. Adrian has to come off sometimes on third down. Running routes, he's still not there yet. Great downhill runner, powerful, fast, all that stuff. . . .

"But anything on that field you want me to do -- throw it, block -- I can do it. That's what I pride myself on is not having any weaknesses. And that's what makes me the best back."

It's a predictable response from Tomlinson. In 2006, he was being touted as the heir apparent to Brown. Two injury-marred seasons later, and Brown's prodding Peterson to call L.T. overrated while they sip lemonade on the veranda.

Given the pride Tomlinson takes in his craft, making sure L.T. read all about it was, in the short-term, a wise motivational move by the Chargers.

But if it causes him to push too hard from September through December, leaving him used up and/or injured come the playoffs, the smarter move might have been to put the thing in a box marked "Do not open until Christmas."

Limited upside??

The guys is the focal point of the perfect offensive machine.. He pretty much sucked last year and still finished as the 7th rated RB.. To me, he's the perfect 1st round pick.. Barring injury of course, he has basically NO downside, with RB 1 upside.. I cant wait to watch him tear sheet up this year.. Im takin him in my next draft at 1.03.. By far the least risk of any 1st round pick not named AP or MJD..

ALL ABOARD!

I took him at 1.03 in a 12 team non-PPR.

Last year was the first time he didn't finish top-3 since his rookie year. I'll take the chance he's still got another great season left. After Peterson, I think he's as good a pick as any other RB.
